Nikon P1000 - Horizon Zoom Test (32.8KM) 

I just want to ask is that the highest zoomer of a nikon camera?

This post has several issues: a) Curvature is not 8 inches per mile squared, this describes a parabola, not a sphere b) I don't know how you even used the formula but it did not give me 524 feet, it gave me 277 c) Using the actual formula (which also accounts for the height of the cameraman) the actual drop would be something like 203 feet d) The island is 702 feet tall so in none of these scenarios is it obscured e) You're using imperial instead of metric: 61.5 metres of drop for an island 214 metres tall

I am not sure how you did your math todeo todeo. But it wasn't correct. At 20 miles out, on an x y axis from point a to point b, there is around 267 feet of curve, but it's the middle point bulge which the height than exceeds that of the objects you see behind the bulge in furthest distance. And at the middle point, there is about 67 feet of bulge. So at ground level, you can see anything taller than 67 feet across 20 miles of water.

@@javierlatorre480 No, not at all. He's not keeping the camera steady AT ALL. When you think you see through that gobbly gook and see some bridge, it only disappears because he brings the camera down more. You know this, because there's much more water in the view than when it was spotted. Elsewise, you're claiming the "curve" is moving on the same zoom. This is just a cheap trick. You'll also notice how he never brings the camera as far up as he had it before, because that would show the bridge again. So cheap. Now maybe you ought to look at the percentage of water being used in the shot as I described, and be amazed? In any event, this is a joke because he appears to be filming it off some boat, and yet you need a steady surface (known as beach) to be totally consistent. A rougher sea will make this more of a problem too, especially at max zoom.

@@charles2241 Tilting the camera isn't gonna cut off his line of sight, especially not if Earth is flat. The landmasses don't appear to move IN the water when this happens. The entire point is that the bridge is not visible, because Earth is round. If you can find me a single frame where the bridge is visible when he is filming the island, then please send me the timestamp. Also, 0:36 and 2:45 he IS standing on the beach, dude. Did you not watch the video? Edit: He was keeping the camera extremely steady, it's just that every little imperfection is gonna be noticeable at what appears to be over 100x zoom

32.82 km (20.39 miles), with a drop of 61.66 metres (202.3 feet) if we assume the cameraman to be 1.8 metres (6 foot). Not enough to obscure the whole island, which is 214 metres (702 feet) tall at its highest peak, but just enough to hide that land bridge between the big peak and small peak

Distancia hasta la isla 32.8 km, altura de la cámara 2 mts (aprox.), distancia al horizonte 5,05 kms (según calculadora de curvatura), la isla debería estar oculta 60,4 mts tras la curvatura de la tierra. Pero el faro está a una altura de 105 mts sobre el nivel del mar, eso significa que debería verse solo 44,6 mts de tierra bajo el faro, pero se vé casi todo. Algo no cuadra aquí. Hay que considerar tambien que la humedad en el aire refracta la luz hacia abajo, por lo tanto, se debería ver menos aún, pero pasa lo contrario. A decir verdad, esta observación es más explicable en una tierra plana.

Theres a deep mystery behind it and it multi faceted. Recently I saw proof that of you take a photo of the moon and do a negative exposure to the photo and then horizontally flip it, you can see a reflection of the earth; contenants and seas. In addition there are continents that we dont know about. This is undeniable and I agree with the conclusions. Many FEs dont even know about this. However, it does lend credibility that the earth may not be what we think it is either. So as a totally objective truth seeker, I'm looking for evidence that leaves no room for doubt, if someone can prove the earth is round. If it is flat, which I'm sure it's not, it opens up another rabbit hole which I hope not to go down but I will if I can be convinced. This video here doesnt prove its round. As.of now I cant imagine a flat earth being the valid answer. But I remain objective. Just want to make sure I'm understood as to where I stand :)

Unfortunately I’ve become somewhat embroiled in this world by no choice of my own but I keep these things in mind. 1, Governments are crap at lying to people, most already have pretty tight control on their populations so why they would choose this hill to die on is kinda pointless. 2, The FE community tend to use a different version of science when trying to make points so making any comparison is hopeless 3, I work for an airline so this stuff kinda needs to be accurate to get planes where they need to go with enough fuel. 4, I’ve seen enough shorelines vanish and reappear with a bit of height to be positive it’s not flat. 5, Branson

Nope. It'd only be flat water if you could see the bridge AND the beaches (which you can't). It isn't because of "unclear atmosphere", especially since atmospheric refraction will typically _lift_ rather than sink. I can confirm through Google Earth that the island has dipped at least 45 metres. The missing 15 m can be attributed to refraction.

@@dpackman It really doesn't. On a Flat Earth you can't have a setting Sun and time zones at the same time. Any hypothetical Flat Earth has to sacrifice one or the other. Keep sunsets? Now everywhere on Earth experiences the exact same day at the exact same time. Keep time zones? Having the Sun always shining on SOME part of the Flat Earth's surface ends up requiring it to stay overhead forever, meaning it would never set below the horizon.

And I say that because look how much visibility is gained once he starts zooming you can't even see the half of the right side of the island till the lens brings it into your veiw

@@danielheffelfinger Zooming doesn't lift the island out of the water, it just makes what's already visible bigger. So just because the camera couldn't resolve the smaller peak at first (something which the cameraman could probably see just fine with the naked eye) doesn't mean it can pull the bridge into view when it's very much below the horizon line

@@JudaismIslamUnited Do the math yourself. 32.8km is 20.3809751054mi. 20.3809751054mi multiplied by 8 inches (they said it was 8 inches per mile) is 163.0478008432 inches. 163.0478008432 inches divided by 12 inches is 13.5873167369 feet. Where the lighthouse is on the right is 340ft. I think that person may be talking about the sight level adjustment of an object, which is something completely different and irrelevant in this situation. That figure comes out to 277ft. So maybe that's what theyre using.

Here's proof that you have flat brain. We literally saw that the island dipped below the horizon meanwhile in the fact the curve was 4m towards. And the distance between the person to other Island is 33 km. If you actually do simple math but you didn't because you don't know how to. And in the fact. 33 km away isn't enough to see curve on horizon. In order to see curve on horizon you have to be at 35k feet up. And with clean view. And halleujah, there you go. The reason that you don't see curve while standing on ground because the size of Earth is FUCKING 510 100 000 km². There you go :)

The land was tall enough for a lot of it to stil be visible over the curve, but not all of it. You notice how the guy zoomed in on a piece that WASN'T above the horizon?

The most simple and so best thing to film is just a sunset, and you don't need a super zoom camera for that. Just put a filter on the camera, so that you see the sharp contour of the sun, and not some overshine effects. - if the sun keeps its size and goes down behind the horizon, the globers are right - if the sun becomes smaller and smaller, until you cannot see it anymore in the vanishing point, the flat earthers are right
