This song was always my favourite on the Fragile. It felt the most personal: it still does. This version is so joyous; it's still tempered with the evident pain in the lyrics, but it's framed as acceptance instead of a plea. A celebratory groove on the detritus of life. I cried and sobbed and laughed and laughed listening to this: a friend I lost turning up out of the blue. I always loved NIN but like a lot of fans, listening to some of their music marks some really painful moments in the past. I know youtube isn't really the place for heartfelt exposure, but there it is: this gave back the joy I buried with my pain, in a very dark time, and hugged and danced with me. It's so nice to see this song is special to other fans. I'll be listening to my old NIN albums again. What a great concert. Thank you.
+trypr I felt the same way about piggy. "Nothing can stop me now" on TDS sounds like denial, it really sounds really convincing and brave after all these years (this set in particular). The Audience is saying "nothing can stop me now" and really mean it.
Thank you for that. NIN is a special thing certainly and I know we all have that mixture of dark memories along side the good times, all wrapped up in his work.
Over the years of Trents different live lineups, this bands performances have gotten better and better. This performance proves it. In my opinion, this is one of their best shows they've ever done. Trent has really taken the time and gone the extra mile to play the best show he possibly can. Hes chosen some amazing musicians, most notably Robin Finck, who his a very talented and unique guitarist. Very proud of what these guys have accomplished.

the people that dont like the backing singers are the ones that are against any form of change or evolution of the whole thing... I consider them a great addition to a new and fresh musical sound. Great stuff!

This has to be one of the most amazing performances of this song ever. The back up singers just add more to the amazement. This song means so much to me.

This whole tour was full of my favorite versions of many of his songs, this one for sure....he put alot of feeling into these live performances and the back up singers, the subtle differences....its everything I want from a concert....not exactly the same as the album....but something else...better even. His stuff is probably never the easiest to play live, but it comes out so natural and more organic in some way! Awesome shit!!!!!!
Hope they go on tour in 2015!!! Their show at Red Rocks was fucking incredible

I loved this performance and EVERYTHING he did to reimagine it live. I was at the first show of this tour and I thought this was so soulful and amazing. Pino Palladino on bass and Lisa Fischer on backing vocals Wow!!
Saw this show earlier in the tour in Minneapolis. I wish it looked like this. They had some technical difficulties during that show. Still awesome music without the light show, but the effects take it to another level when they work. It's fun to see a favorite artist like trent reinvent himself every once in a while. Great clip.
This performance in every element would make Apollo himself weep in joy. The instrumentation, the harmonies, the showmanship, the lighting! sweet sean hannity this is truly the best performance of anything I've ever seen anywhere!
Just revisiting this version and loving it with fresh ears. For me, the choice of backup singers makes his Bowie influence clearer than ever. They bring a touch of soul to such a hard and mechanical song.
Newsflash people...you aren't the same person you were 15 years ago. When Trent wants to do something new with his music, then that is his business. If you want the same stuff you heard in 1999, the you have three options: get the album, invent a time machine, or start your own band and rip him off. Deal with evolution.

Yeah, but he also said he was using the Parker guitar (which that obviously wasn't) and had a hard time remembering what song he used the ostrich tuning for. I'm guessing it was on another song, but I could be wrong.
Watched Trent hit guitar player in head with mic stand on June 6, 2006. He then proceeded to drag him across the stage by his hair. One of the greatest shows I've ever been to.
Doubt. Even back in the early nineties that would likely never have happened. Trent's fighting with the band was always planned before hand so that the members were prepared. 40 year old reznor taking a mic stand to Aaron North seems pretty unlikely.
it's just that they're so f**n good; I take breaks ffrom them just to preserve the awe.... saw them I think 1994, 1999 and 2008. He lost none of his intensity in that time... Reznor and the band he keeps have never disappointed me... and I always find new things to love about the albums he released. Honestly, I think he's just kept getting better and the shows are evidence of that....
Lot of terds complaining about the backups. Trent, my biggest wish for you is to sit down with the Chicago Symphany Orchestra and score about half of your catalogue in a 3 hours symphany to instruments that'll make some of these gremlins sh*t a brick. "Wah, wah, tubas don't belong in NIN music, Wah Wah!" Frank Zappa scored a symphany, and it frustrated a lot of his drugged out, rock fans, many others were blown away and loved th project. FZ basically told the haters, "f*ck you. It's my music. Go listen to Prince if you don't like it." I could see Trent doing something similar. lol
I love the new dynamic those two black chicks brought to the music for this tour. I would love to hear some more old NIN songs with their soulful twist. Fantastic!
This is fucking awesome. This is what I’m talking about. That’s why I like in the old industrial Trent Reznor’s using women singers Marilyn Manson dirt on mechanical animals. Everybody should do this I love the sound with the women singers. They are so awesome go Trent.
