GTA6 is slated for Winter 2025. But likely will be pushed to 2026, or should be at least to have a complete game. This was the report I got at the start of the year when I asked my friend who works at Rockstar. It's true but believe what you want ❤

Not exactly... I think they will only give specific details or show the console in 2025 as well. Now, we only know that Nintendo Switch 2 or whatever you want to call it is coming out, but that's it. We don't know anything else for sure.

switch is referencing the ability to play on the go or switch to a tv though, not anything related to the joycons as far as i know lol

That's what I want, the switch style has grown old to me and there are in retrospect very few games I would actually play on handheld mode

Then they can resell every Switch game on the new thing, just like they resold all the Wii-U games on the Switch.

It doesn't work exactly like that but that's an interesting idea. You should look into HALL effect joysticks if you want to learn exactly how they work, but I'll give a general description. Hall effect sticks compensate for drift by stating the resting position is the neutral (0,0) and use use magnets to measure the distance based on pull, these can fail but usually the failure has to be critical like slamming the controller/breaking plastic since there are a minimal amount of moving parts to even wear down. Potentiometer based sticks are what most controllers use, they change resistance based on stick location. Effectively it's turning two dials on different axis (kind of like using an Etch-A-Sketch) these are on small plastic gears that wear down with use and cause stick drift. The only reason every controller doesn't use HALL effect sticks now are because two reasons: 1: HALL effect sticks cost about 2-3x more to make (still VERY cheap, about 15 cents a piece in bulk) 2: They make more money when you buy a new controller (about a 5x price markup on standard controllers, even higher for joycons)

@@hock_100 well of course not, but it was very underpowered. And not even just that, they intentionally bottlenecked the specs.

@@hock_100 Nintendo intentionally capped the performance of the switch to get higher battery life, without even putting in an option to change it. Wouldn't you agree having a higher performance mode for docked play would be nice? They did make it slightly better docked, with the CPU and RAM being utilized a bit more if the switch detects it is docked.

At least Nintendo still worries in making games of all the 3 companies. Play station had been screwing things over and dont get me started on how Microsoft continues to adquire studios only to do nothing with them or shut them down
