I remember on Christmas morning 2004 my dad told me “Santa forgot it back at the North Pole, it’ll be here any day now.” A few days later a cardboard box with a note from “Santa” showed up with this exact box. Thank you for the memories 🙌🏼👍🏼

The difference between the original DS and the DSLite is insane. They are practically the same except for hardware, and only 2 years apart but the original feels ancient while the DSLite has held up pretty well. I got my Lite in 2008/2009 (after the release of the DSi) and knew a lot of people with one, but I’ve never met anyone with an original DS. I didn’t even know they existed when I was a kid

I remember getting a dsi xl for my birthday and was super excited playing games on a big touch screen. My favorites were definitely Mario Kart DS and New super Mario bros.

The illusion of cleanliness and asmr was shattered when he bent the DS screen all the way back

I really prefer this model over the lite. I love how the GBA game actually goes into it and doesn't stick half way out.

Yes! I owned the classic gray FAT Nintendo DS. I spent all my time on that thing playing Nintendogs, Warioware, and my old GBA games. All my good friends had one, so when we hung out we would always mess around on pictochat for a while and played games that could use the DS Local Wireless (yes, it had close range wireless capability). In Nintendogs, if two people were close to each other and both walking their dogs in game, they could run into each other. You could even trade items with other nearby players.

Oh how I remember mine, I was going into the Army when these were revealed and when I finished basic, I bought one. The DS served me well my full Army career, 5 straight years and a deployment.

Man I had the DS Lite, and that thing gave me so many memories. I also remember specifically wanting a Blue DSi because of the camera 😭

Everyone is always forgetting this model exists, and I dont know why, yes the DS Lite is a legendary handheld, and the DSI AND DSI XL are also amazing, but the original DS is amazing too, it looks and feels a lot more premium, and it has its own little wrist strap, plus the GBA games don't stick out when you put them in unlike the DS Lite, its just awesome man.

The one from my mother was destroyed by my big sis when my sis was three. The one from my sister still works. I love FlipNote. So nostalgia!

I never truly experienced my ds lite as a kid, because nobody else I knew had one. I loved that damn thing.

I loved this console as a kid, all My infance with a NDS XL. And still loving it.

Mine still working but I don't playing it anymore but it gives me a lot of smile and fun while playing it, i still remember the day my grandparents gave it to me.

I bought DS Lite a year ago and it’s awesome. Never had nintendo before.

When he turned it on and it made the tune, I swear my life flashed before my eyes.

I haven't owned an original ds, but my friend has, and when I played it, it felt ridiculously good in the hand, much better than how the ds lite feels in the hand, especially with larger hands!!

It’s amazing how the original DS didn’t age pretty well in design, but the DS Lite still feel really modern till this day. I have a white DS Lite, and I still play it a lot, great console

I grew up with kids around me always having stuff I didn’t , I remember them all having ds’s consoles toys and stuff , and I barely having any , now that I’m grown up and more money to my disposal and not being controlled by my “video games are from the devil “ mom , I’m in the process of buying everything I ever wanted as a kid , those old LEGO sets aren’t cheap on bricklink but I want my sealed toys (I’m 19 , I just want the childhood I never had , and that includes a ds and some games I wanted to play ) and now this one is just of personal preference but I’ll save to buy off someone an Excalibur prime account , since when the game came out I was still forbidden off of games and I literally couldn’t even play the game

I remember I had a DS Lite. Bring that thing everywhere I went, either with New Super Mario Bros. or Pokémon Diamond. Ever since then Nintendo has been with me my whole life.

I had a DS Lite that I am very likely getting back to working order soon, and it's very interesting to see how different the design and charger are. Didn't know the original DS looked so different till recently.

Never owned an original DS, I had (and still have) a DS Lite and a DSi.

I had a white ds lite and a black dsi. I remember playing with other kids in the area multi-player mario kart, pokemon battles, mario party... Best days ever!

I remember when I got my DSi and got Pokemon white version on it, it was about the only game I had and the only game I ever really played- I explored it so much I spent 400 hours on the same save file just cause I’d take it everywhere with me and play it as much as I could cause I adored it... really magical feeling I wish I could get again

This brings back so much memories when I was a kid and my god I’ll never forget the day I got a DS Lite which was in Christmas. Bon fires and Lots of fattening foods was the best , when I was about 11 I think I remember getting a 3DS on my birthday when they were new like when Mario cart 7 came out. Those are one of the memories I would go back to. Man time flies by so fast ☺️

3:10 That Nintendo Ds Strap... I was fortunate enough to have had every edition of the Ds from the original to the first 3ds; However, to afford each one I agreed to sell my old one on ebay. I kept that strap when I sold my original DS, and I would attach it to every new DS I would get. It now sits proudly on my 3ds behind me on my shelf... That little strap traveled with me through my elementary, middle, and highschool gaming years. From 2005 to present :)

I got the DS Lite (Cobalt Blue) for my fifth birthday. It was the only present I got, and I loved it to bits, I rarely put it down. It's what sparked my love of Games today.

Very nostalgic for me. I remember getting one of these for my birthday the year it came out. I upgraded to the Guitar Hero DS Lite and sold this model to pay for it, and nowadays I regret selling that old model.

I remember when my Grandma got me one of these (and SM64DS) for Christmas in 2004. I felt so cool... I was amazed by how much of a leap forward it was from the GBA SP I had.

I used to have a DS lite. Until my little brother broke it.

It was quite funny how I was into PlayStation and everything Nintendo made me laugh, until later, I got the Wii and was surprised at how accessible and fun it was. I then got the DS, a second hand model like the one in the video, and played Rhythm Heaven/Paradise and got hooked. I also am crazy about WarioWare Touch!, cause that game is whack (in a good way). When the 3DS came out, I had to wait for the price cut, sold my 360 and got it... Man, those days seem so remote. Just, thank you Nintendo for your creativity and memories. Thank you for this video, man.
