As a young kid I was really confused how they got the money inside the ds when my mom said it used money. I then tried to look for the slot the money goes in.
The Nintendo store in New York plays all sorts of tracks from multiple games, would’ve been cool if it played music like the Wii shop and old eShop themes
I hacked New Super Mario Bros. to play it because it happened to be the first game I tried that has a recent enough version of the music player to be able to play the song
Tell me about it. I found my old DSi and was listening to voice recordings I recorded around 2010-2012. Couldn’t help but tear up. We were living in the last good years without knowing
2002-06: Infant & toddler years 2007-09: Early childhood years 2010-15: The best part of my life so far 2016-19: High school And we don’t talk about 2020 for obvious reasons, but for me in particular it’s been a very special year.
Makaveli I’m just glad I still have my DS Lite all the way from... who knows what year. Up until this year, I had gotten a new game system of every sort around once every two/three years or so starting in 2009. Pre-Wii: DS Lite, as well as the GBA SPs me and my siblings all had. I still have mine lol 2009: Wii 2012: 3DS 2014: Wii U 2015: New 3DS & my tablet 2018: Switch 2019: My phone, assuming it event counts 2020: PS4
@@kokoseij also the gamecube would probably be the father of the 3ds. The 3ds matches up with the gamecube's cpu power exactly and is probably a bit more powerful graphically.
I remember FINALLY figuring out how to connect to the internet. I watched that video about the store so many times, and when I finally booted it up I hear this music... This was a good song to hear after all that time.
Dude actually same here. It was like rocket science for my 7 year old self to try figuring out how to connect to wifi. Finally, one day in December however, my dad connected my DSi to wifi and I was on the shop in the matter of no time.
Man I just love the dsi music, it's just so heart warming and nostalgic, I remember always playing on my dsi by the fire at my grandma house years ago, I would play games like new super Mario Bros and send flipnotes to my cousin, we would race each other on Mario kart ds, but most of all for one year grandma let us get some games off the dsi shop one Christmas, I remember buying cave story and my cousin getting some airplane game, man I loved that game and I remember so many times just randomly browsing the dsi shop and wondering what games I could get if I saved up money, over the years I forgot about my dsi until I got a 2ds and system transfered all my contents to my new system, and while browsing around my dsi I decided to go to the dsi shop to get the system transfer tool, when I heard this music it hit me hard, and the system transfer music made me want to cry, I then forgot about my dsi until recently I found it in an old container in my closet and booting it up and hearing that iconic jingle when you started it up made me just feel so weird, I then was checking around and saw the shop icon moving and remembered all the memories I had of browsing the shop back in the day, thank you for uploading this high quality rip :')
This music played as I proceed to plug the toaster in the wrong way, causing the breakers to pop and my kitchen plug to smoke like a barbeque. Very nice
You know this just made me realize what the switch is missing, music! Theres no songs anywhere on the console except for in game. No Eshop music, no Mii Maker music, there's nothing!
I think everyone has already admitted that the Switch UI is actual garbage. They could have just copy and pasted the 3ds interface and I wouldn't even care lol.
@@ebenzuckerberg5119 The switch interface is so minimalistic because it runs games incredibly heavy for it's power and battery, so they need to make it as light and fast as they can.
Storytime! I remember when I was little, I had a dsi that didn't come with flipnote studio. The only time I was able to play flipnote was when my three cousins, who live hours away and who I rarely got to see, came over and I could use their Dsis, which came with flipnote. Eventually, I was able to get my dsi connected to the internet, and I visited the Dsi shop. That's when I heard this theme for the first time. I excitedly searched for flipnote studio, and when I found it in the shop, I was OVERJOYED!! I was finally able to make my own animations without having to use my cousin's Dsis. I would continue to make animations for HOURS and was so excited when my cousins would come over so I could show them all my creations. Listening to this theme again always gives me sooo much nostalgia. I still have that old dsi, although it is missing an L button. It was my first and my favorite little system, and I love it to death. Anyway, if you're still reading I just wanna say thank you so much for reading my story and I hope you have a wonderful life!
I am reliving my childhood memories playing my Wii. This really reminds me of it. Waiting for a special package on Sunday this week, you might guess what is is. (Hint: It starts with U, has a space, and ends with i, it’s not the wii u!)

My Flipnote story has a similar theme....I messed around with the app offline and made these really short, slow little slideshows until a friend of mine showed me the Flipnotes he had downloaded from Hatena online. I had no idea what the app was capable of. I found out how to turn on the "advanced" tools and from then on I was working on my own animations and downloading other people's for hours every morning. Now all these years later I'm a storyboard artist!
After all these years I'm still able to turn on my old dsi and look at all the photos and games I had when I was younger. I'm blessed to still have this masterpiece.
I still have my black DSi and Blue 3DS XL, they're both fine, the DSi has some bumper-issues, and the 3DS XL is a bit slow every now and then, but I still use them now and then when I have dry eyes that need to be cured you know. Especially the old pictures omg
Why doesn’t the Nintendo Switch have Eshop music like this? or any music at all? Edit: why is this my most controversial comment? stop responding to it
@@cardboardpackage on the store though... Also although it's something that you can turn on and off quickly, it should still have subtle home music like the 3DS
I believe I bought Two of the game&watch games (Chef and I think Ball), Tetris, Mario vs Donkey Kong, and a chess game before getting a 3ds. I bought more DSi-ware on my 3DS then on DSi. Edit: I think I also bought one of the Art Style games, the one where you make boxes
Nintendo is, and always will be a large part of my childhood. I have had the original 2006 DS Lite, as well as the Wii for my entire childhood. I will never forget the days playing just dance, or Wii Sports, or yelling for my Dad when the batteries needed changing, or my sister asking for me to help her get the pointer on the screen. Good times, and i'm excited for future products.
I remember getting DSi Ware gift cards for Christmas and birthdays. Problem was our home didn't have WiFi internet. So when the weekend came around, I'd scooter to the local public library and chill outside the building surfing the DSi shop for like an hour or so using their free WiFi. I remember playing Mario vs Donkey Kong, Zelda Four Swords, Escapee Go, AiRace, Arcade Basketball, Viking Invasion, and an Asphalt game. Good memories.
I don't mind the silence (probably due to just getting used to it), but I miss lively music on the launch screen. In my opinion, I wish that there could be an option for that
same, it's not like it's gonna take up space or anything; same with updating the UI, it's as if Nintendo is purposely waiting almost 4 four years to finally add something (and even then they might not)
You're so right. In shopping centers they are also only playing music for one obvious reason.. I don't get why Nintendo did this, now I don't enjoy spending my time in the eshop anymore
I remember opening my Dsi, and excitedly going onto the dsi store only to learn that they discontinued it. This moment broke poor me. I probably sat there for twenty minutes with tears in my eyes listening to it. I will always have these memories with me

I remember the day when the DSi Shop started and I was just browsing around when I downloaded Flipnote Studio, Web Browser, UNO which was 800 points and I bought Blackjack (500 DSi Points) and Itchworm animation (200 DSi points) I was on a shopping spree, LET THE NOSTAGIA END ^~^
@@kaisipe412 While Hatena is gone a community-driven backup/reboot has been live for years; you just have to route your dsi to a special dns server and it's back again :') It's called Sudomemo. :)
I've been playing this quietly in the background while my history teacher talks to us about bloodshed and torture methods. Extremely unfitting, but it's lovely nonetheless lmao edit: the music, that is, not the bloodshed and torture methods
Remember the feeling when your parents bought something in the shop for you and you were left with a new blue box on your familiar home page, and it was ssooooo satisfying when you touched the blue box and it changed into a new game 🤩🤩🤩😅🥺
Andres Garcia there were also some free games though, you could have free games on anniversaries, like Mario or Zelda and you could download a video explaining what you can do with internet and flipnote I believe and the 3ds transfer tool
Stathis. Tsor so you’re 16? Me too! I also got it around that time. Do you remember the DSi + Internet app. I remember sitting with a dictionary trying to figure out what they meant and that’s how I found out about internet and downloading games
Gone but never forgotten. It actually makes me kinda tear up hearing this now, considering the DSI shop got me into two great indie games: Cave story and Shantae.
I never had a DSi growing up, I only had a DS Lite. My best friend had a DSi though, and would always let me browse the shop, and also would let me download a bunch of free crap onto his DSi. Those were the really good times.
@Sneaky Steamie Yeah, the non-nintendo consoles have always been bland, but I used to be able to count on nintendo for some groovy jazz while I make my mii or look at my lack of wii points.
It’s sad because the Nintendo shut down the Nintendo wii shop channel in two years ago and i don’t know why they shut it down maybe it was to old or to weak also you can’t use the Nintendo wii shop channel anymore sad 😢
First ever Nintendo console I got was a DSi, like a year ago. Got it as part of a job lot of broken consoles and fixed it up. The shop theme is kinda special to me, because not only is it from my first Nintendo console, I'd never heard it before. Plus it's just awesome.
im crying did you just put my childhood in a bottle and hand it back to me? thank you so much though seriously! this means alot. i can remember this sound and it makes me very happy. also thank you RU-vid suggestions I really needed to be very happy right now!
I remember when I just got my Nintendo dsi I had no idea how to connect it to the internet. my parents didn’t either so I never heard this song. But I still get a load of nostalgia from it, it’s kind of hard to describe but it has that iconic dsi kind of feel to it. I remember watching the dsi + internet video that you get with the dsi and whenever I even think of it I get so god damn nostalgic. The feels are hitting me hard 😢 R.I.P Nintendo DSI 2009 - the end of my childhood You will be remembered as one of the greatest inventions made by mankind, thank you for the happiness and good times you brought into my life and others.
I remember playing Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again, Dr. Mario Express, and two Game & Watch games (Ball and Donkey Kong Jr.) as a kid. Good times, good times.
Ah the memories... Such nostalgia of looking through to see what free games I could find. This might not be as classic as the Wii Shop theme, but damn it it deserves similar recognition.
my dsi my dsi it kinda makes me cry i'm so happy that it's mine it was so darn cheap it didn't cost a dime my dsi my dsi it makes me want to scream and yell aaaaaa and if you don't believe in me take your psp and go to bed no desert for you lets see how many people remember this
Why do I want to cry when I hear nostalgic things like this? Maybe I just wish times were simpler like back then, and I could enjoy playing my DS without people judging me and being annoying like they are now? I seriously still love playing old games on my DS for hours on end!
This really is my childhood, I remember browing the store, looking at mario or other games I could not buy because I had no idea where to buy those cards (it was not very easy to find them in the french city I live in) until I found some and bought mario vs donkey kong games and dillon's rolling western. That trully were good memories, I would just listen to the music for hours. It makes me really REALLY nostalgic of my DS/DSi/3DS childhood. I'm very happy I grew with Nintendo :)
Man… the DSi was such a special moment in time for all those who got to experience it. It was around for such a short moment in time right in the few years before the 3DS came out. The camera stuff, music abilities, and flipnote especially. Probably my favorite handheld console of all time!
@@junglejuicejuno i mean yeah. i dont know why i commented this or how i found the channel in the first place but its their first video so check it out if your interested
Hearing this makes me want to cry so bad! Since it reminds me of simpler times when I just sat down for hours on end play new super mario bros. And mario and luigi bowsers inside story. And I didn't have a care in the world
remembers? pff it's only 2020! go to your ds' internet settings and change auto obtain dns to off, and then put 104.248.000.110 for the primary dns, then 008.008.008.008 for the secondary. then go to flipnote hatena,
I like how many RU-vidrs have been putting this song in the background of their videos lately. It's like everyone realized this song existed at the same time and unanimously agreed that it's great, lol.
This is blessed content, and I thank you for bringing it to the internet. I shed a tear of joy for my carefree childhood, with my DSi XL in hand, shopping for games I didn't have money for.
