Nintendo DSlite charges but won't turn on. Let's fix it

I ran into a problem today with a ds not powering on but it was charging. I'm still pretty new at fixing ds's. there was no sign of water damage at all and strips were clean. There was a sign of someone trying to fix the ds though. They wrote bad f1 fuse and I noticed the inductor you replaced wasn't the factory one on mine. So I looks like it was replaced at some point. And I tried the known good battery and even tested the fuses and found nothing wrong. So I came to RU-vid, for some reason I didn't think about cleaning the power switch with iPa. So as soon as you mentioned it I tried it and the ds booted right on lol. So now I'm wondering if the previous person didn't think of it either and just counted it as Junk haha. Thank you for the great video tho there's always something new to learn even the simple things.

I have a white ds lite as well but I've never tried fixing one before. It would charge and a green light would show but nothing comes on the screen and there wasn't any sound. replaced the battery, wifi thing, tried using different screens. top and bottom but those were fine. but the power volume and the digitizer latch and the the stick that turns the power on broke easily even though i know i was careful. replaced the digitizer bc the ribbon cable was broken, still didn't work. I'm not too sure what it could be. Love this video btw! Not too many videos of repairing ds's

Hello mate, I’ve recently found my old ds lite and im having the same issue, the charging light turns on but it doesnt power on, what do you suggest I do, should I order a new battery?

I have replaced the shell for my Original Nintendo DS Phat system, but it won't turn on. I read it could be the ribbons that aren't connected well? I don't get a green light when I push the power button but it does charge and show the orange light. So Idk what I should look out for to fix this? :)

My DS Lite is having the same issue, I just reshelled it and my board is nowhere near as messy as yours was. could there be any other culprits for the same issue?

My daughter's NDS came with a cover for the second slot Now it's dead I want to open it up but can't detach the second slot cover Any idea? Should I just use force and pull it out?

I have the same problem with my nintendo DS lite. It didn't fall or anything like that, since I pay a lot of attention to my consoles, one day it started turning off and on without me doing anything and now it charges but doesn't turn on. Any tips? Also what can I use to clean my power switch, or other mother board components? Is "pink alcohol" (the one that everyone has in their kitchen lol) ok?

I have a ds lite, charging light works, but when I turn on the green light blink once the top screen flashes and then nothing happens, already tested the continuality os the fuses and they are ok, what could it be? How can I test if the problem are the screens? Thank you
