Party snack | party food | easy recipes
Dry coconut/ Copra - ½ cup
Fried gram - 50 gms
Asafoetida / Hingu - ¼ tsp
Red chillies - 2
Water to grind
Method:
1. Blend all the above ingredients in a blender.
2. Blend smooth.
Making Nippattu:
Oil - ¼ cup
Rava / Semolina - ½ cup
Plain flour / Maida - ½ tbsp
Rice flour 2 cups
Chopped curry leaves - 1 tbsp
Carom seeds/ Ajwain or Cumin seeds / Jeera - ½ tbsp
Salt - to taste
Blended mixture (prepared above)
Groundnuts (fried, peeled and crushed) - ½ cup
Water for mixing
Oil - for deep fry
Method:
1. Keep a pan on low flame and add ¼ cup oil.
2. Add ½ cup of Rava / semolina and ½ tbsp of plain flour / maida.
3. Lightly heat up.
4. Add 2 cups rice flour.
5. Now turn off the flame.
6. To this now add 1 tbsp of curry leaves and ½ tbsp of carom seeds / ajwain or cumin seeds / jeera.
7. Add salt to taste.
8. Now add the blended mixture.
9. Mix everything well.
10. Add water - a little at a time.
11. Make sure the dough doesn’t stick to your hands.
12. Now to this add ½ cup fried, peeled and crushed groundnuts.
13. Dough is now ready to be fried.
14. Place a plastic sheet and apply little oil.
15. Flatten the dough.
16. Cut out desired shape and prick the flattened dough.
17. Now deep fry till golden brown.
18. Make sure to fry both sides.
19. Nipattu is now ready.
