Experience matters! Manufactures raise the back of their truck to allow for weight in the bed. I tow both on pavement and off-road with my 2019 Frontier RRO4X. I selected OLD MAN EMU which netted a 1-3/4" lift in front and 2-3/4" in the rear. The truck sets level with a 297ldb tung weight or when loaded for overland. The truck rides better and under-steers far less. The 11" of clearance in front is great to have and I used the money people spend on UCA's on better tires

Awesome advice! Was nearly going to install Nismo lift spacers on my '23 PRO4X but shopped around and decided on Roughcountry 2.5 front struts and 1.5" rear shackles and shocks. Will also be swapping out the UCA's for aftermarket control arms. Thanks for sharing!

They come raked so that when you out any amount of weight in the back it doesn't have a Cali lean. It's supposed to be a truck with gear int he rear.

Great information. Problem I am finding is there is nothing out there yet for the 2022. I have been researching for a couple of months and only thing out there is the spacers (or a 6in from RC that you have to then spend more on 18in wheels). I've emailed with many manufacturers and everyone says the same "nothing has been tested on the 2022". Keep the information coming!

Thanks for the tip. I'm going with 3" spacers with SPC UCAs for my 22' Frontier Pro 4X. The reason being is because I want to wear out my Bilstein 4600s out before replacing it. Hopefully, it works out well with the light/moderate off-roading. What do you think?

So I got the Nismo Stage 2 Off Road suspension lift which is basically nismo tuned Bilstein 6112 in the front and 5160 in the rear. I also got the Nismo UCAs for the front. This gives a 2 inch lift but only in the front. I still wanted to have the downward rake so I got the Nismo spacer kit which has a 1.5 in spacer and a 1 in spacer. I set the front 6112 to 1.5 inches and put the 1 inch spacer with it. And put the 1.5 inch spacer in the rear. So the truck is at 2.5 in lift in the front and 1.5 in the rear. Even with the Nismo UCA, do you think the spacers are a bad idea?
@NaritasanStudios
@NaritasanStudios 4 месяца назад
I'm pretty sure the nismo uca's geometry is correct for the camber so you should be ok. Although for the money you spent on nismo uca's I'd rather have fox 2.0 or king 2.0. it would have a much better ride than Bilstein. I had Bilstein on my 14' frontier and I wasn't that impressed. Wish I would have gone fox or king. When I do my Titans suspension I'll go with 🦊 I think they are the best bang for your buck. If budget wasn't an issue I'd go with king.

Hello just got a fairly new used 2022 pro4x. Wanted some more height to it but I’m new to the truck game. I heard you should get a suspension lift over a body lift kit? Is this dude to spacer issues you are talking about? If I get a suspension lift should I still swap out the UCAs? My job requires to be off-road 50% of the time.
@NaritasanStudios
@NaritasanStudios Год назад
There's a couple suspension kits that will do the same thing as the spacers but not ruin your suspension components. Look at bilstein 2" suspension lift struts. The rear is not as critical. You can get away with shackles and not kill the rear end, or if you want to stiffen up the rear you can add a leaf. 2" front and 1" rear should level out nicely. Uca's is a nice upgrade for more travel, just make sure they are adjustable. Also get lca cam bolts for your alignment. Otherwise you will go through tires every year. I personally like the titan swap route but it takes a little more work and money.

I've got a 22 frontier pavement princess. Rough country offers a 2.5 inch "lift kit" (spacers) for like 200 bucks. For about 600 bucks they offer a kit with replacement shocks and struts. Again, not an off roader. I just liked the truck and the lifted look. Considering I won't be doing any off roading what option would you choose?
@NaritasanStudios
@NaritasanStudios Год назад
Knowing what I know about spacers now I'd never lift with spacers again without adding adjustable upper control arms. And you don't need a 200 dollar spacer. Mine were 30 bucks on ebay and better than rough country in my opinion. I had a pair of rough country and the nuts stripped the posts. I liked the eBay puck version that bolts screwed into the puck. Plus they were only 39 bucks.

I have a 2017 Nissan pro 4x. I just had the rough country 2.5 level kit put in. Now the front seems to be about 1 inch higher than the back. I was told the level kit will "settle." Is this true? I have done nothing to the rear of the truck and wasn't planning on it. I do not do any serious off roading. Just occasional off roading. So, you're saying this can still damage the trucks front suspension over time?

@@NaritasanStudios You will love this. The company that put the level kit in ended up putting in the wrong one. It was for a Nissan but NOT for a Pro4X. I just had them take it all out and refund me. They admitted they were wrong which is nice, but I hope there was not any damage. I will not be installing anymore level kits in the future. I will just keep the stock truck that I have. The P4X is already equipped from the factory for any mild offroading I would do. Thanks.
@NaritasanStudios
@NaritasanStudios 2 года назад
Well it depends what Nissan it was from. There are a lot of trucks and SUVs that are compatible. Either way you're better off taking them off and installing a true lift kit with coilovers, but the stock form is pretty capable too so a good set of tires will go a long way. Personally if I had to do it all over again I'd get king 2.5" coilovers which will level it with SPC, or CJD adjustable upper control arms, adjustable cam bolts for the lower control arms. And 35's that would be a nice looking truck.

That was definitely good info, no one ever talks about that ! I always thought Fox 2.5 coilovers and the bilsteins are 2inches as you know , I didn't know they were bad for the frontend. I was thinking of put that style of lift in my new truck when I buy my new truck this spring. I've owned a 1989 hardbody and 1993 and a I thought that was a bad truck when I turned the torsion bar up and added 3inches in the frontend. My 2005 Frontier was awesome, I think the 93 hood would've looked better on my 2005 Frontier!! I loved my 93,though I loved them all. I'm thinking between the new Frontier and the 2021 Fx4 Ford Ranger. So any thoughts ? Brad.

I know the Bilsteins say they're a 2.5 inch lift but I haven't tested them out that far yet. I think it would still bump the coil bucket but probably won't be as stiff. As far as the fx4 ranger I'd take a hard pass as it isn't like the old rangers with I beams. I'm just not a fan of rangers anymore. The new Frontier is awesome, but the price tag is a little ridiculous right now so I may wait another year before buying one. I recently purchased same model pro4x luxury in boulder grey. I am worried about long term reliability of vq3.8dd engine. I have heard it is direct injection and not multi port fuel injection. I am worried about carbon buildup in cylinder heads and valves. I am thinking did I made the right decision and worried about the overall brand image of Nissan at the moment. few disappointments no lumbar support and no passenger side automatic seat adjustments. no wireless apple car play, no telescopic steering. few positives, great looks, comfortable seating, good fender sound, wireless charging, leather seats and sunroof. smooth 9 speed automatic transmission.
@NaritasanStudios
@NaritasanStudios 2 года назад
As long as you perform regular maintenance like any other vehicle it should be reliable. I understand everyone's concerns but the only concern I have is the prices of all new vehicles. As far as their image I'm not really concerned about that as they aren't concerned about mine. They have plenty of brand awareness with older models that will never die out

It’s a reliable engine. It’s not the first direct injection for Nissan and even Toyota engine has direct injection like my 14 Camry which has been ultra reliable. I also purchased 22 Pro 4x and so far I LOVE IT! it’s my 2nd frontier and my 4th pickup including 2 Tundras. What impresses me the most is how smooth the onroad drive, the super smooth 9 speed and powerful V6 engine without turbo averaging 19mpg. You can’t beat that and I’m a Toyota fan boy. 22 Frontier / pro4x is an awesome and reliable truck.
