85% of the reason I'm here is that as a mechanic, I love watching old-school transmission guys tear these things down like nothing, throw the parts in a big pile, and then build them back up knowing exactly where everything goes. Stellar work as always.

Just subscribed. Not because I'm gonna learn much that will help me, but because I love watching a pro work. You remind me of the mechanics I used to know and respect when I was a kid. I'd lump most of the new ones in with politicians.

I have been watching him for a few days now. I am beyond amazed at how he has Everything down pat. He knows every little thing to look for. His explanations are very detailed and he has a ton of practical build experience. But, all those parts give me nightmares. You have to really know what you are doing. Love watching and listening to him. A real wrench master there!

It might just be me being an autist, but I have a real deep appreciation of watching hands at work. This guy Richard is so skilled and accurate it just displays a level of expertise that only a handful of people on the planet can match, and it takes decades to train. I want to be like that too - doesn't matter what your profession is.

I really hate when every B.S. session about cars always ends up in nitrous oxide injection ( cheating ) I always tell them they need to do it the old fashion way. I love it though when I hear of someone talking about putting nitrous injection in their car and by the time they ran out their first bottle they managed to melt all their pistons.

I love that we can look over the shoulders of masters in their craft, deep in their element, experience and knowledge undeniably on display. Additionally Richard isn't talking shit about the shops that jack up the work. Hes concentrating on showing exactly why and how shit went wrong and what the result will be plus the upgrades. What the other shop needs to be doing is secretly using these teardown videos as training material or grouds for termination of employment, depending on severity of work half assed. Thanks for making these videos. There is nothing better than a experienced and seasoned professional passionate about informing the customer base while still showing off the fruits of decades of difficult work. Hats off to you guys, absolutely just found these videos yesterday and been binge watching since. I have a vested interest, as I am planning a rebuild in my garage for a 4L60E 4wd for a 1998 K1500 Z71. Thanks for providing parts links as well. Truly doing a service to leave a lasting record of your lifes work. Awesome stuff.

I have to tell you that you are a master if there ever was one. I have been a mechanic for 45 years, but you are way ahead of me. You must have started mechanics the moment you were born. When I'm working on cars now I have to take precautions and wear gloves because in the last few years the chemicals finally caught up with me. Now I have to keep the oil and fluid off my hands because I get dizzy and start shaking a lot if I get those chemicals on my hands. I can't even smell brake cleaner anymore without having a reaction. This is really annoying because it's hard to avoid that. If I ever need my trans rebuilt I know who to come to. Keep up the good work. You are awesome.
