So much can happen overnight with a tune! This was going to be a fair race but it got moved to the second day of filming and i spent all night looking at the logs. Im definitely preparing to race the bigger cars with my bigger turbo!
hell yes, need to have the big hitters when Rob gets the larger turbo setup. also need the rematch against Hoonicorn with Lia driving as a bonus episode.
Once again thank you Hoonigan for hosting Rob. We all know how much Hoonigan and Ken meant to him, and everyone. This is such a great tight community, thank you for keeping the spirit. Fast and Furious crew IRL
I feel like the best part about this is seeing the Hoonigan crew genuinely excited to create content again. I don't think they have been this pumped about anything since they lost Ken. I really think Rob is going to be the catalyst that revives this channel. Best one-sided race I've ever seen on This vs That.
When the time feels right and she feels right, I do want to see that happen. Definitely will be a spectaculer video. Also, im just super proud of Block family and Hoonigan for despite what happened and how it didn't happen long time ago everyone got back on their feet and keep doing what they truly believe at. Ken would be proud of everybodyo sure, may he rest in peace.
@@royliber3824 Yeah I fully agree with this. Ken was a legend and will never be forgotten. I wish all the best to Lia, losing a father at that age is one of the hardest things to go through in life. Rest in peace Ken Block
Rob's car looked like it was on crack today, just shows you how much it's improving even between episodes Next part has to have some of the heavy hitters though, with the rate it's improving it's gonna be able to handle its own with them
@Rob Dahm honestly the trial and error is one of the best parts of a build like this, and is one of the reasons why I've been hooked on to this series for so long. Just inspired me to plan to build a car that has the same concept of the 4 rotor, except with an engine with even worse reliability (if it can even be built): an '04 Impreza with 2 EJ20's connected together to make a flat 8. Although that has to wait until I am actually out of college and have some spare income, so it won't be starting until 10 years later haha
@shred1894 growing up my family always had a Subaru as the "workhorse car" and while most of them were not top-spec models (a 1.6 Blobeye, a 2.5 Outback '06 and then a 2.5 Legacy '10) I just grew attached to the brand. This is why I want to have a WRX STi one day, and then while watching Rob's videos I said to myself "wait a fucking second, I have an idea!" And this whole mid-engined, flat 8 Blobeye just came to mind as my "final vision for how far you can push a Subaru"
@@Yaz27 Rip your bank account, interpersonal relationships, emotional wellbeing, and sense of self-worth. I mean power to you for doing something crazy, but I hope you know what you'll be getting into.
First time I’ve really seen the 4 rotor actually gripping and running well in drag races. It’s always been races where something goes wrong every run and now the car seems like it’s actually controlling the power it already had.
@@el00hel the heavier car actually got better traction at the start by having more mass pushing down on the tires, its not to say rob dont got traction but his advatage is just after the start going in to #2 gear. that might be a part of why the blue audi he raced seem to hook up better in the start and he had some power also down the stretch.
"Let us know if you want to see that." Scotto of course we want to see that, THAT IS ALL WE ARE HERE FOR! We want races, more turbos, bigger turbos, nitrous, fat wide tires, skinny little front tires, we want it all! Love you boys, keep bringing the stuff we love!
Ken was salty. He didnt like that rob borrowed designs from the hoonicorn and he didnt like that the 4 rotor could throw punches at it. Who cares what ken would think anyway
Watching Rob plant the f@#$ out of that 4 rotor is finally itching the scratch ive had wanting to see you do that since i started watching you working on it over a year ago. Love what its come to man, heres to a few more "great gaps-by's" on the next ones, from Sydney Aus ✌🏼
I wish Rob was running like that in some of the past videos, probably would have taken the win on most of those Ls. That baby is screaming! It's crazy watching Rob and the mazda come so far over the years. Love it!
@@arckylie3081 they filmed the first 3 one day, then this last one a day later.. you not listen to people talk? they talked about it quite a lot... he spent the night tuning it lol
I just love Dahm's story. Talk about fighting through adversity and accomplishing a goal no matter the road that gets you there. Then reaping the benefits of all your hard work, and living your dreams for a while. Inspiring. It takes some serious dedication to accomplish what this man has done. Pretty cool. Is there room for one more rotor? 5 Rotor 2500whp AWD Rx7... I could see that being the next big step in the evolution of the car.
@@slightly.above.average Think the rotors (and maybe housings?) are no longer in production, watching rob's videos they have to be balanced very carefully in weight, composition, wear etc - have a feeling it's not that simple unless you have hundreds of thousands to throw around
@@aciid_0 He stated he's making his own billet parts and he said how he wants it to be all billet like his 4 rotor. I'm sure in time there will be an update on that project.
Rob is one of the few people in existence that can say "but we have rotory at home" and not let you down with that reminder. 😅 the forbidden dorito lives❤
Rob's RX-7 really seems to be getting dialed in now! That looked fast! In fact, those runs looked like they were well into Hoonicorn territory, and a rematch definitely needs to happen with Lia behind the wheel!
Another bomb episode. That 4-rotor might just be the new Hoonicorn, with how it’s shadowing that playlist and getting faster every pull. That nitrous fed Ram is slick as hell too
My boy Castro held it down! Ram did amazing it was just a poorly matched up race! lets get castro and soto back on the show against a better match up😎🔥🔥
This is a poor match up, hundreds of HP less, literally tonnes more weight and only rear wheel drive. Come on boys put some effort into the match ups please.
So nice to see the dammn thing keeps getting faster and more dialed.. I still vividly remember when people were saying this build is a lie and will never run haha.
How far that car has come is awesome, and the fact that this man went with a dodge with enough nos to blow himself up, and a working ac and the truck still was okay 👌 great episode would love to see the 4 rotor dahmanator against the iconic hoonicorn with lia block at the wheel 🙏🏾 I’m sure many others would too
I love how they haven't replaced the rear window. That car is MOVING! Gotta love how much they're cheesing about it! I can't wait til they get it dialed in just right and get to hoonicorn levels. Might have to add another rotor to start racing jets
Sounds like the higher diff ratio was done as Rob suggested previously as the gears got now reasonably long. Also it looks like to boost dropping during gearchange issue was solved as It was accelerating smooth unlike the previous jumping during gear changes.
@@Sawyer1117 I just did a google search and the only rcsb truck to weigh 3940 is a non A/C truck with a small 5.3. The rest sit of the 2WD 2 doors weigh around 4,400Ibs. That's pretty much expected from an older truck (99-2004) with less interior features.
Hell yeah i hope this vs Dahm is a long running series!!!!! It’s only appropriate that someone who was obsessed with the hoonicorn and a huge fan of ken block gets a good part of this show!!!
I like the old format with the shorthand interview with the gang. I appreciate the higher quality but the laughs and fun came from the offhand conversations,
I kinda enjoy this break down of car vs car before the race. Feels like it flows better. Though I do like the crew asking questions about the cars before the race. Not even upset that Robs breakdown of the RX7 has been used before. Slimmed down and made tight. Just works, and fits good in this format.
