The skin on an armored vehicle is usually thinnest on top of the vehicle. A warhead designed to detonate just above the vehicle is extremely effective.

The NLAW steers along a curve depending on how fast the shooter turned before firing. The target sensors are an induction loop that detects metal, and a lidar (light dtection and ranging). The lidar measures distace to ground. When a ground contour that matches a vehicle and the induction loop detects metal, the missile will detonate It doesn't matter if you coat the tank in nonferrous alloys, the magnetic field surrounding the missile will be affected by the rest of the tank.

Neat.
@MarkLada

Could a tank be fitted with equipment that projects an electro magnetic field capable of prematurely detonating the projectile? Same thing with the lidar.. Could you flood it with light so that it's not able to detect the contour of the vehicle to trigger the detonation?

@@frankdevo5715 The hard kill is not effective at close range though.. If the projectile detonates too close to the tank it will knock it off line.. Then the next projectile kills the tanks.. Or if the enemy fires multiple projectiles at the same time the hard kill systems can only pick up one.. I'm thinking of something like a force field shield straight out of scifi movies.. Just turn it on and forget about it.. If a missile gets to close to the tank it blows up before it's close enough to hurt the tank..

The missile arms at 20m, when the booster lights up. At that time two optical sensors start scanning the ground it flies over and an active inductor starts transmitting. When it detects electromagnetic fluctuations in the magnetic field just after a height differential that suggests a tank-shape it will calculate where on the tank it is and when it should fire to get as close to the center as possible. The Warhead is a 120mm shaped charge. It WILL go through and dig a hole under the tank.

Speed of the shaped charge metal jet: over 20 kilometers per second. Reactive armor doesn't have time to react, metal jet has already passed when it starts exploding. Crazy good - and as you probably have seen, the "Putin's Cuck Shed" on top of the turrets seems to be absolutely ineffective against this menace. This penetrates over 500mm of composite armor. It means that if the MBT gun is loaded and this hits the turret then the gun lock will explode. Humans vaporize too and the overpressure inside the MBT cause chain reaction explosion. There are practically no recognizable human remains if you are in a tank and get hit by NLAW. Russian tankers and other soldiers: go home and do not enlist. This awaits you everywhere in the civilized countries. There are more NLAWs, JAVELINs and other antitank killers in our stocks than your rotten industry can ever pump out. It is not worth it. You are not defending anyone else than Putin if you fight.

imho the option for Ukraine to join NATO/EU shouldn't even have been brought on the table. 8 years ago if you asked any European if they considered Ukraine a European country they'd be like 'fuck no', but a coup by some dudes literally called 'right sector' and instigated by whomever funded that group(I'll let you guess), suddenly they are the bastion of democracy. It's a joke, they just switched one corrupt puppet for another and that dude messed up so bad he plunged the country into a hot conflict. The signs were there from 2007 that the situation in Ukraine would go to shit with Yanukovich gaining power. Ukraine was doing fine till then or at least it was getting better. This is the result of puppet leaders and how they ruin countries, and people are powerless to do anything about it because when they realize it it's too late and some don't even ever realize or want to accept it. Btw, don't get me wrong, I like the fact I have access to weapons that will help me not see myself to the business end of a T-92, just don't want to pretend I am having the moral or ethical right after allowing the people at the top play ping pong with a small country against the Russians.

It's funny to see how the military adapt to battlefield threats. The US slapped cages around their armored vehicle to deter simple RPGs. Humvees are replaced with MRAPs that can better withstand roadside bombs. The Israeli developed the TROPHY system to defend against any types of anti tanks munitions. Russian tanks have turret cages because they'll be facing a lot of high-tech anti-tank missile systems. I can see the cages on American vehicle are decent enough to defend against RPGs but I have my doubts with Russian turret cage's effectiveness against dedicated tank killing missiles.

@@Natsukashii-Records Ukrainian revolution in 2014 was not just a "right wing coup" or "CIA coup", despite what Russian propaganda says. People in Ukraine were genuinely fed up with corruption and traitors serving Russian interests. Right wing parties were just most visible in civil militias formed during revolution, but there were no "Nazis" that had significant influence on new Ukrainian government. Russian propaganda is using "Nazi" name everytime the Ukrainians try to suggest they are separate nation from Russia. Ukraine was actually a very big field of special operations, but not CIA ones - Russian ones. Since 1991, russians were trying to make sure to corrupt as much politicans and important figures in Ukraine as they could, to keep Ukraine both economically and militarly weak, because in paranoia of Russian rulers, countries in Russian neighborhood must be weak, instead Russia is "endangered".
@Natsukashii-Records
@Natsukashii-Records 2 года назад
@@cytrynowy_melon6604 lol if you think any coup has ever happened in history because 'some dudes got fed up' then you have major malfunctions that no amount of studying will resolve. There is no a single revolution, coup, or otherwise regime change, that a foreign power didn't have a hand in. Absolutely not, due to the fact that in all regimes there is a status quo. That is, people with a lot of money and power at the top which you'll need to topple. And all those people have armies which will fight for them no matter how wrong it seems for you. Be it soldiers, militias, police forces, etc. People NEVER win unless controlled by an organization, which usually does the logistics too, and to do all that you either need experienced people trained for just that, and funding to get weapons and everything you need. By the way, some right wing nazi came out recently, real big boy in Ukraine's paramilitary and Tarasenko's close friend Yevhen Karas came out and literally spilled out, GLOATED, about how the Euro-maidan protests would be a gay parade without the nazis. He admitted he killed people, that he loves killing and war, and there are several reports of literal crimes against humanity that dude has committed, yet he was also part of the Azov. So, riddle me this dude. If Putin is a liar why was that dude never prosecuted and I see him giving interviews and laughing about inciting civil unrest and a coup and then taking part in literal war crimes for 8 years straight. You can literally search on twitter: "Watch Yevhen Karas the leader of Ukraine's neo-Nazi terror gang C14's speech from Kiev earlier this month. Straight from the horses' mouth, he dispels the many narratives" Simply look up what the shit actually happened before you pretend to know everything just because you eat what they feed you without question. I don't disagree that Russia had their own puppet govt. in Ukraine, not from 1991 but from 2007, but that aside, why is that a bad thing? At least he didn't start a war like US's puppets did. Because the only way to drive Russia out of Crimea(and Ukraine's oil) is to start a humanitarian incident. Because any other way the US could conceivably do to push them out is a hot conflict. And that would mean the danger of nukes being used. And hopefully US isn't composed by total psychos but sleepy Joe never ceases to amaze me with his dumb choices. So, the only possible way to get Russia out is draw them into a hot conflict with Ukraine, pretend it's a humanitarian crisis to throw the economic book at them and make it not worth sticking there for the oil. Simple as that. And before you start talking more bullshit about why would US do that, remember all the other places US had a hand in and where their oil has gone. Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, South America. And go on Wikipedia and type 'US involvement in regime change' and tell me who the fuck are we to tell Russia not to put a puppet govt. in one country when our list needs an excel sheet. Cut the fucking bullshit, the whole war happened because US wouldn't back down and threw Ukrainian people in the meatgrinder for a photo-op of 'look Russia bad' when they've been doing this shit for decades and as we can see now, they still are. With the most robust propaganda machine and useful idiots like yourself denying reality, LITERALLY WATCHING IT WITH YOUR OWN EYES and calling it Russian propaganda. Go support your nazi friends you fucking zombie. I'm good. And on the next conflict US starts I hope you send thoughts and prayers in that poor country too and ask for the US to be removed from SWIFT.

It is a reusable system that is not man portable. The NLAW is basically an advanced replacement for systems like the LAW-66 or 72. To keep the weight down. Many anti-tank weapons have over 700mm of armor penetration. You simply cannot feasibly give a tank all around armor that thick.
@cookiecraze1310
@cookiecraze1310 2 года назад
You don't need 700mm of armour all around the tank, as things like ERA can protect most angles from HEAT warheads without adding too much weight. Only problem is is that if another rocket hits the same part it will go straight through.
