I love when a team loses in a championship series and gets revenge or bounces back the next season. Like for example: Mets lose NLCS 1999, win the 2000 NLCS Houston loses the 2004 NLCS, gets revenge on the Cardinals and wins the 2005 NLCS. Cardinals lose to the Astros in 2005, bounce back and win the 2006 NLCS Cubs lose the 2015 NLCS, bounce back and win the 2016 NLCS Dodgers lose several NLCS including the 2016 NLCS to the Cubs, and get revenge in the 2017 NLCS against the Cubs. Man I just LOVE that for some reason.
2006 FOX- Cardinals won both NLCS and World Series 2007 TBS- Rockies won NLCS but lose World Series 2008 FOX- Phillies won both NLCS and World Series 2009 TBS- Phillies won NLCS but lose World Series 2010 FOX- Giants won both NLCS and World Series 2011 TBS- Cardinals won both NLCS and World Series 2012 FOX- Giants won both NLCS and World Series 2013 TBS- Cardinals won NLCS but lose World Series 2014 FOX- Giants won both NLCS and World Series 2015 TBS- Mets won NLCS but lose World Series 2016 FOX- Cubs won both NLCS and World Series 2017 TBS- Dodgers won NLCS but lose World Series Teams are 1-11 in the World Series when TBS broadcast their victory of the league championship series #tbscurse
It's a Joe Buck Stat. That goes back to 2004... To add to your list. Red Sox 04 , White Sox 05. Only exception is 2011 and If Nelson Cruz would have been playing the wall- Warning track in game 6 of the WS. The Joe Buck stat will be undefeated.
Totally agree. He really had a good feel for the game and made great calls that fit the plays, as there’s a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a home run, and so that’ll make it a 4-0 ballgame.
What I deduce from this video Braves own the Phillies Phillies own the Dodgers Cardinals own the Dodgers Giants own the Cardinals Teams in Red (Phillies and Cardinals) own the Dodgers The Braves own teams in Red (Reds and Phillies) Teams not in Red (Marlins Diamondbacks and Padres) own the Braves The Giants own teams in Red (Phillies and Cardinals) Cardinals own teams in Blue (Dodgers Mets and Brewers) Cards own the Astros when they were red Astros own the Cards with more Orange in 05 Cardinals are owned by teams in Orange (Giants and Astros) The Cubs and Dodgers are both blue so they split
How do the Braves own the Phillies? None of their wins were against the Phils and if you go farther back to the ‘93 NLCS the Phillies actually beat the Braves
Someone really needs to tell TBS that Ernie Johnson does not work in the play-by-play booth. Brian Anderson should've been the #1 on TBS for playoff coverage years ago.
What I find funny, in 2004 & 2005, the Cardinals and Astros faced each other twice, each one advanced over each other. But in the World Series both years, they were swept by two teams who have the name sox. The Red Sox beat the Cardinals 4-0, and the White Sox beat the Astros 4-0.
As a long time Phillies fan with the Phillies being statistically the worst team in MLB history, those were some special years. 3 consecutive NLCS trips, 2 consecutive World Series trips, and a World Series title to top it all off. I will never forget.
Joe Buck started in broadcasting in 1989, when he was just 20 years old. So he's only 51 currently. He could easily go at least another ten, fifteen, maybe even 20 years.
Hell yeah! I remember back when I was in high school way back then. Jason Lane from my hometown of Santa Rosa, CA made the final out of the NLCS in 2005. I must have missed the end of that game back then because I hadn't realized my hometown boy had made that final out.
Personally i always love "What a team, what a ride... the cardinals are world series champions!" or the all time call, "We will see you tomorrow night."
I watched that happen live and my god, watching that ball sail into the right field seats was like a dagger in the heart. Come so far, tie game, bottom 9....and Blowsenthal lives up to his moniker Good riddance to the guy, he sucked
My takeaway: Braves went to the NLCS five straight seasons (eight if you skip '94 and go back to '91, which aren't shown) and nine of eleven seasons, and went to the World Series five times, with only ONE world series win
1:10 - Kevin Brown with a complete game in which he gave up 11 hits and 4 runs, threw 140 pitches, and was still in the game in the 9th with two runners on and a Hall of Famer at the plate as the tying run. Might never see that happen again.
Ironically, Carlos Beltran became a Cardinal, Mark Reynolds became a Rockie And Carlos Ruiz became a Dodger later after being involved in the final outs against those teams.
Dodgers has been to the World Series for the 3rd time in 4 seasons. After winning the current World Series, they took that title for the 1st time in over 30 years!
The cardinals sure do know how to win pennants. The Braves sure do know how to lose them. All the more why I’m so impressed that my nationals swept them!
@@jpcote8794 Yep, that was the very last game at old Busch Stadium sadly enough. I was there. Too bad we didn't go back to WS in 05 to end Busch on a higher note, but we were in WS in 04 and 06. Also a shame we didn't ride Pujols epic gw HR in G5 longer, but at least we denied Stros from winning pennant at their place.
Yankees the team of the 90s. I was born 1994. Yankees won 96, 98, 99 World Series plus 2000 and 2009. Baseball Dominance. They also won the 2001 and 2003 Pennant. The Mets won the 2000 and 2015 Pennant. Baseball in New York is simply the best.
After watching these matchups you can see the Cards are the most consistent NL team except they could not handle the Giants. The Giants were an amazing 4-0 in NLCS matchups. The Dodgers ran into some tough teams and didn't stick their landing until 2017. Braves were so consistent in the 90's but won only one WS. The Phillies were pretty darn good from 2008 to 2010. The Mets had some good teams on and off. Best story was the 2007 Rockies in my opinion. As far as the future is concerned, the Dodgers should be in the NLCS 5 or 6 times out of the next 10 years.
@@theanimationlads7598 It appears the Cubs are going downhill a bit. They shouldn't have signed Darvish. I prefer the Brewers in the NL Central in the future. The Cards look good also.
The last two years, the team that lost the previous NLCS ended up winning the next one (the Cubs lost to the Mets in 2015, but beat the Dodgers in 2016 and then the Dodgers flipped the script by beating the Cubs last year). I wonder if this season will follow the same pattern with the Cubs getting back to the Fall Classic?
The Cubs are in the midst of a '90s Braves type run. Hopefully it ends with more than 1 title though. It's funny people think they aren't a top team because of one "down" year where they still made the NLCS. Only thing that will hold them back from running away with the central is injuries like last season. Once the playoffs start, anyone can win though
Now let’s talk about American League. The New York Yankees have the most World Series titles and pennants. The current American League champions are the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees have 27 World Series titles, and 40 pennants. My favorite American League teams are the Houston Astros, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox, and Oakland A’s.
The Garchomp Tamer Are you fucking kidding me? 1) I am straight and 2) I’m no goddamn Cubs bandwagon fan. Born and raised in Chicago, became a Cubs fan in 2006! 😠🖕🏻

+SkizzeHDTV you heard it here first folks... finally, the confrontation that never really came to pass (in the playoffs at least) while they were both in the NL Central for all those years... Houston Astros vs. Chicago Cubs, 2018 Worlds Series. BE THERE.
Line-drive and a base-hit! justice will score the tying run, bream to the plate …. and he’s safe, safe at the plate!! The Braves go to the World Series!
Cards in NLCS 10 times in 19 years, 9 in 15 years btw 2000-2014. I'll take it. 2010 Giants 2011 Cards 2012 Giants (over Cards) 2013 Cards 2014 Giants (over Cards)
Cardinals were in 10 NLCS from 1996 through 2014. 96 lost to Braves (4-3) 00 lost to Mets 02 lost to Giants 04 BEAT Astros (4-3) 05 lost to Astros 06 BEAT Mets (4-3) 11 BEAT Brewers 12 lost to Giants (4-3) 13 BEAT Dodgers 14 lost to Giants 10 NLCS in 19 years(9 in 15 year span from 2000-14) 3 in a row 04,05,06 4 in a row 11,12,13,14 4 WS in 19 years, 4 in 10 year span from 2004-2013) Frickin Giants though, Cards could have been in 4 WS in a row 11-14
Yes and they two WS titles '91 but leaving Lebrant out in game 6 and '92 when the Yanks were on the ropes and allowed them to gain traction. Hopefully the '19 Braves can go much further. GO BRAVES!!!!
