Okay, so I'm watching another SP wonderful video. I was just enjoying it when, suddenly, pizza is being shoved in my face. Well, you guessed it, had to hit pause, go to the freezer and bring out one of my frozen leftover pizza slices from last week. Oh well. At least I was able to sit back and start watching again while satisfying my sudden urge for pizza. Not such a bad thing but now I need a beer. I'll never get through this video at this rate. smile on my face. I watched a documentary on the rural people in Africa paint eyes on the bottoms of their cows, to keep lions and other predator's from attacking their livestock. It worked!!! so wear your cap and hike freely with no worries :)

Slim, your "carbon footprint" is barely a blip on the radar when compared to the HUGE energy sucking power of the typical North Amereican household. I especially appreciated today's episode because the Badlands of Alberta are a sight to behold, and you are one of those I always expect to do an awesome job of recording it (video or still life). The Eyes in the back of your head beanie is funny. In India farmers place a mask of a human face on the back of their head to ward off the Bengal tigers. The strategy is based on the assumption that the tigers attack their prey from behind so the tiger can never find that vantage point thus saving the farmers life.

Great pizza. The year I travelled to the badlands was especially rainy so there was a lot of green that year. The parks people pointed that out to us.

Very interesting about reducing your carbon footprint. I will be buying a Coachmen Leprechaun 319MB Class C in November. I know I could buy a small trailer and small SUV to pull it but I will be living full-time. I look at it this way. My total driving will be about 200 miles every month. I will start in Ocala, FL and will try to plan my camping locations within a 100 miles of the last place I camped plus I will purchase enough food to last me at least 3 weeks at a time so I won't be making regular trips to the store. Even with an estimated 9-10 miles per gallon I will be using between 20-24 gallons of gasoline per month. If I were to go back and rent an apartment and have to buy a vehicle to get to and from my office I know I will use 20 gallons every 5 days. By making my Class C my home/remote office, I will have cut my carbon foot print drastically. Plus I will make sure I use solar power as much as possible. I also will buy and carry Earth boxes with me for growing my own food, at least as much as possible.
