Thanks for the nice videos. A small and surely unintended side effect: I love your clear pronunciation, which let me understand every single word. All the little special idioms like "jam-packed", i never noticed before. Ideal to refresh my rusty english. And i use those little breaks between your sentences to speak out loud. Even if it is difficult from now on - please leave it as it is!

Slim, in your travels, when you see a sign for a flea market stop in and look for cast iron. It is much easier than you might think to restore even the rustiest looking pieces. I love cooking with cast iron. Got plenty of it in my arsenal. Can't beat it. Some of the pans I have are now well past being in the antique catagory. It has gotten expensive over the years and some of todays cast iron is no where as good as the old stuff. I have on 12" fry pan that was my mothers and she told me her mother used it before her. I still cook with it on an almost daily basis. I love cooking over a campfire with the dutch oven, makes a mean pot of red beans, lol....

You are such an impressive cook, Slim. I live in Mexico and I was laughing while you made your nachos. Nachos aren't very common here, instead chilaquiles are more popular. It's kind of the same idea, except you cook the chips (or more often stale corn toritllas) in the bottom of the skillet with the salsa (red or green) which kind of moistens them but don't make them too soggy. Then on top you can put eggs, cheese or whatevere meat you want and sometimes a little cream on top. They are very popular for breakfast. I make pickled onions with habanero chiles to put on top of things, once you make it, it keeps well in the refrigerator: Cut red onions and salt them and let them sit. Cut habaneros into tiny pieces (use gloves!). Add vinegar, oregano and lime juice and stir. It goes good on everything. Good luck and hope to see you in Mexico soon.

Fist of all, thank you for sharing your outdoor life with us. I enjoy it all. I wish I could do the same. Just a helpful tip, heat shrink tubing works great to seal and insulate those small wire splices. I can send you an assortment if you wish. It's light weight, takes up no space, and can be shrunk with any flame. Better than tape for most things. Thanks again for the content and welcome to my beautiful province of British Columbia.

Tip for the next repair. I have useD Hot glue instead of electrical tape on those tiny wires. Sometimes I feel it may do a better job since those wires can be a pain! Just glue each wire individually, then wrap them all in tape. 👍 good job all around on the fix and food😋 love the views you get to see!

Looking forward to your BC videos...Ive tried to visit after a 40 year absence now for 4 years, fires, fires, document issues and now borders closed. I will let you be my eyes! I love watching Chrome from Vancity Van Lifes travel about, especially his island travels, glad you were able to pick up a cooking trick from him, perhaps he has learned a bit from you as well. He is so paranoid about accidents he could benefit from that back camera, especially in his beloved city Vancouver! With the places he visits, you never know who maybe sneaking up on you!

Hey Slim, I know you forgot to bring the liquid tape and that's awesome stuff but you should check out the incredible amount of repairs, upgrades, improvements, and customization's you can do with OoGoo. It's a must-have for every tool kit or RV because of its versatility and low cost. It can insulate & protect electrical cords & terminations as well as applying it to anything that needs to be waterproof or leak-proof, and you can mold into any shape. You know, it's a 50-50 mixture of RTV Silicone adhesive sealant and corn starch. The corn starch makes the silicone cure in around 10-15 minutes and makes it stronger & harder but still flexible. If you buy clear silicone the OoGoo can be made any color with some color tint or acrylic paint. Anyway, look it up and play around with it at least once. I'm positive that a smart & clever DIY guy like you could find a million uses for it.

Also great that you mentioned Vancity Van Life, I’ve been following Chrome Valdez from the beginning and I saw the double cast iron skillet trick with the griddle making cinnamon rolls. Another guy Living the Van Life, Chad, makes amazing Dutch oven meals out over a campfire piling up hot embers on the top of the lid. Enjoy yourself as much as possible during the pandemic. I recommend carrying some heat shrink-wrap for those cable repairs. Super handy. Different sizes will cover the thin wires as well as the outer shielding of larger cables. For the outer I would go with 2 layers of shrink wrap with the second layer being longer than the first - this will ensure it is water proof.

Slim, another great video. Should consider some heat shrink and possibly a portable soldering tool. I think part of the enjoyment of RVing remotely is the unexpected challenges. The Dutch Overn cooking concept makes perfect sense. Keeps your trailer smelling clean and it's safer cooking outside. Consider a Dutch Oven Iron Tripod and a medium size Solo Stove. Travel safe
