No Heat Radiant Floor Cold Repair 

Radiant Heat Not Working
I am doing a preventive maintenance and was told basement heat wasn’t working. After troubleshooting the radiant zone I find the circulator pump not pumping. I verify 120vac power supplied to the taco 007 circulator pump. Therefore the radiant heats circulator pump has failed. I notice someone used blue block pipe sealant which is very difficult to get apart.
Replacing Circulator Pump
The bolts come right off the pump. Radiant heat Pump comes right out. The circulator pump flanges need to be rotated to match the new pump flanges. I fought trying to rotate the pump flanges. Since I couldn’t get the flanges to move with a wrench; due to the rock hard pipe sealant blue block. I decide that I should use a touch. Heating the rock hard sealant soften the blue block. Therefore, I was able to turn the flanges and install a new pump. One flange I had to loosen the thread connections. The other circulator pump flange I tightened. Then wired in the pump.
Afterwards I test operation of new pump.
