Men should really work hard to put their woman in a position to free up. Here feminity EXPLODES when she begins to feel safe and secure. That, in turn fuels her love she can free up and radiate her being into their relationship. And God knows that a womans very nature is to take energy, turn it into something bigger and spit it back out better. Life can be amazing with a woman who feels loved and protected and safe.

Mhmmmm Also some thing I noticed is that people tend to say well it’s hard to afford all that on a budget these days but I think it depends on where you live and being realistic. The most generous guy I met was in Texas and he earned about $65,000 a year but my place and mortgage is not expensive and neither is his. It’s crazy to assume may be in bigger cities but I would be happy to sacrifice my lifestyle more for a man who’s going to take care of me within reason. I have already dialed back my own lifestyle because I just don’t wanna work that much. I don’t need that much Chanel 😂

Growing up I used to always be so frustrated because whenever I would read a book with a black female main character, she had to be the stereotypical "black strong woman" who is fighting against racism or oppression. I just wanted to read a book where the black female lead was just a regular soft dainty girlie like me and the plot ISN'T ABOUT STRUGGLE! Thankfully adult me has found some more books like that and hopefully it continues to be the norm but I just really hate this narrative and I'm glad more of us are becoming aware of its harm.

I find this trend of romantizing homemaking in our culture pretty fascinating. Being a housewife has certainly been looked down upon in the last decade, so I'm glad to see woman who truly want that embracing it. But I am a bit baffled at this heavy correlation between a "simple, luxurious life" and being a homemaker. For me personally, the idea of being a homemaker (with kids) seems incredibly stressful and exhausting. I've yet to meet a SAHM in real life who can dress to the nines while baking bread in her spotless kitchen when she has 3 kids to take care of. 😅 Even without kids in the picture, relying so heavily on someone else and their income to sustain the both of you doesn't quite seem so simple to me, especially in this economy. It really puts a lot of pressure on you to find the most ideal partner. And hell, I'd hate to put that kind pressure on my partner too. But that is just my opinion, and it's why I don't pursue those lifestyles. I'm sure others can thrive in it. I think ultimately, you can find the simplicity and feminity in anything you do. For me, working in a career I love, living in my own cozy apartment in a big city within a 3min walk from boyfriend gives me so much joy. I can afford to spend money on things I enjoy, explore cute cafe and restaurants, I can stay at home and be a total potato all day, or put effort into my hobbies that I'm super passionate about (Running and 3D modeling). It doesn't have to be one way of life or the other. ❤
@KellyStamps
@KellyStamps Год назад
Yeahhhh I don’t see homemaking as luxurious at all. I see it as a way for me to rest in my femininity and natural role God blessed us with. If anything homemaking with kids sounds sticky, nasty and tiring. LOL. But like many people commented, they enjoy being home with their kids and taking care of their man instead of being at an office all day long. Also I DO know housewives who actually do dress to the nines but they only have ONE kid and they have money for a part time nanny. One of them is completely child free! The key is money and low COL lol.
@KellyStamps

Hey Kelly! I do think, in general, its important to seek Christ regarding how we behave as women (I should probably comment this on your other video haha). Christian femininity is so different from worldly femininity. I think we have to be careful when attributing femininity to caring for children, staying home etc. We erase many women who are called to live different lifestyles (not saying at all you personally are erasing them). It can also go so deep because there are many traumas that can contribute to our perceptions of femininity and what we think we should, and shouldn't, be doing with our lives...but thank God for his grace to guide us through. Totally agree, even as a non-Christian. There are so many empowering conceptions of femininity, irrespective of motherhood. As a Buddhist I draw inspiration from the Dakinis and Taras - female representations of enlightened beings. The Buddha of loving eyes is represented as a female Buddha with four arms, each representing a different type of love: equanimity, etc (I need to brush up on them!). The important thing IMO is to connect with ourselves, and the faith we align with if that applies, rather than bend to fit into the conventions of those around us.

My man and family supported me but I did all the grunt work in what I knew could be the best thing to ever have happened to me. Although traumatic, being let go allowed me to secure better opportunities. And I did ! I got a higher paying Job after two months of actively job hunting. I decided I wouldn’t take anything less, but to always strive for better. Never stay stagnant. They were intimidated by your greatness.

I love stanning relaxing Black women living their best lives not having to be the tough single woman. I also love that I live in a time period in which I am not artificially prevented from working in the way that is most fulfilling for me, which sharpens and showcases my talents, which interests me, and which keeps me feeling free rather than unpleasantly trapped. Home for me then becomes rest and my person. Everyone is unique, and that's lovely

Most, if not all, my peers want the latter ofc. Whereas I lean more towards the simple life, doing “simple” jobs to get by. Was living in NYC, and -- coincidence or not -- I couldn't find someone who wasn't threatened by me. After 35, I changed. I bought a house by a lake back down South. And started a family on my own. And you know what? I still love love, but I couldn't be happier with my life. I'm content and feel full. I just wanted to put it on your radar that there can be an unexpected happily ever after. Just want to point out - as someone who is creative for a living - creative work is labor. If you plan on making money from it that means you will be working. Creative work is work.

I’m 22 and I felt this. We are not suppose to be aligning with other peoples experiences but aligning with ourselves. People are going to try to convince us to not trust ourselves because in reality they don’t want us to depend on our worth and what we expect from life. They use things like “unrealistic” as a way to make us dissatisfied with life when life itself is a journey. Listen to what you want and not what other people want

Out of the rat race and doing me. That's just so new to me and is very important. The strong black woman is such a bad stereotype. It should not be embraced. I have been able to develop myself outside of my career in so many ways. Stepping back from the "grind" when I had the chance instead of chasing money and career status was the best decision ever. The women at work and even my family try to shame me for cutting back and not having another job, like I'm lazy or something. It's not their life and health and happiness though, and they don't know everything behind the scenes. Being content with having enough is enough for me, and very freeing. I truly wish more women woud give themselves permission to do that if they want to and have the means.

I understand being tired of the "struggle love"/struggling together stereotype too. Like, I get it, love isn't easy, but why does it have to feel nearly impossible? Why not indulge in a gentler variety of love? As I've gotten older I realise I tire of conflict really quickly and easily (including my own nonsense when I'm in the wrong), I don't have the same patience for it that I used to. I know love and adulthood has ups and downs, but I'm more comfortable expressing my intense need for mostly peace and compatible friend/relationships. I don't get attached so quickly or easily as I used to. Society can't just see women grow into ourselves confidently and leave us alone about it.

So i know plenty of women who are stay at home wives with husbands who provide and love them... what did happen though? Unfortunate things where the man is no longer with is or severely disabled. Id say, if i were to be stay at home wife, id keep up my education and be financially educated and understand house finances. so that if hes hurt or laid off we can tag team. In the same, the man needs to know how to do home thibgs in case I am not well or sadly i leave early. Just mentioning this cause all i usually see is about abuse when there's other parts of life that are difficult

Idk I don't feel invested in anything associated with the concept of being 'traditional'. It's so nebulous and easily weaponized, especially against women. Wanting monogamous partnership and to raise a family and be valued in a close community is ALSO part of what society pushes on us through media and other social institutions. The 'high-powered career woman' is so satirized in the rom coms of the 2000s on - it's not framed positively! For most people life is not going to be either/or - having a family and nurturing that, or building a career and hustling through drudgery since, you know, we need money to survive. It's kind of expected to juggle both, and if you want to focus more on one, great. You building your channels ground up and other work you do is a business, and running that doesn't meet some definitions of 'traditional woman/soft life'. 'Traditional' also often comes with implications about modesty and value. All the things often framed as 'soft' (online this is mostly beauty maintenance and household management, but sometimes these channels will talk about building relationships with emotional safety) are also work, some people just prefer those kind of work. IMO people just need to be more honest with themselves about what kinds of work the prefer and try to get as close as possible to their preferred mix (in terms of where they spend their time).
