Question does the time that gives you before getting your first egg from your creatures for example my has 10 hours before getting my first egg does that 10 hours are on gameplay or the time keeps running even after login off the game?
You can sequence the same egg's height/weight over and over again until finally it says, "inherited" instead of "increase" to hit the size cap in the same generation. You don't have to go through multiple generations to hit the maximum size, you can do it with the first egg!
A few things about "desirable" offsprings: How do "helpful" pets actually differ from "playful" ones? (Same goes for the other two stats) If you get the stat to 0, does that mean you can expect equal amounts of helpful and playful behaviors? Btw, I caught a pet right after I witnessed it murder another animal twice its size, and it did turn out to have a high aggression stat as you'd expect, so that's cool. Also, is bigger really better? Personally I LIKE being able to bring them inside my player bases. Does size affect movement speed, does it give them an edge if some kind of creature fighting actually takes place?
Size does affect movement speed only when it corlates to legs, long legs equals faster creatures, as for what playfulness does I have no clue, helpful I believe relates to scanning, mining and fighting other animals and sentinels.
It went from having one of the most disappointing releases in history to becoming one of the best modern games. Not to mention one of the most in-depth PlayStation 4 VR experiences.
I just want an update that gives more reason to be near your friends. It seems outside of building our home base and exploring the haunted frigates, you tend to move into different systems from each other. Maybe pirate bases and systems to raid/claim after defeating it,, or alien space bosses to fight would be good.
@@mr_noname holy shit. I hadn’t even thought about that. With the size variations we can literally have cute space dog races or gigantic Godzilla v Kong battle royals. HG really knocked it out the park.
@@littnuke You can make the animals that attack you companions so I would assume if you increase the aggression (with the egg sequencer) it may attack other players or other players companions
@@lxua4253 You clearly have played for so long that price is no issue. The majority are going to stop playing before they ever accumulate 5000 extra for a color change. It's overpriced and makes a simple cosmetic change one of the most time-consuming purchases in the game. Changing the basic color of things shouldn't be limited to the small percent of the player-base with a couple hundred hours into the game. My base would be uncolored if I had to pay 5000 nanites for each color.
@@sepulchral. If I have to look up "how to make nanites quickly" and do a bunch of stuff to set it up, just to change the paint, it's not worth doing and ~90% of the people playing aren't going to use it.
@@sepulchral. Something that 99% of other games just give you the ability to do from the start? Living Ship, cool thing to work towards and unlock. Fucking blue paint for my ship, not a cool thing to work towards and unlock. Imagine having no base colors unlocked by default and having to buy them each for 5000 nanites. It would be annoying and pointless too. Not that hard to understand if you're not trying to be a dipshit. No one is sticking around because they want to play that little bit more so they can turn their freighter or starship into another flat color (If they had unique paint schemes, sure). Don't make people slave away for basic game functions. It doesn't make the game better. Nothing about having paint-jobs cost 5000 nanites does anything positive for the experience. It just makes people who like customization give up before they get the chance. I've already stopped playing since I made the initial comment. Never having gotten to change the color of my freighter because there's hundreds of things more affordable that actually impacts the game, and I've done most of it. Don't be an idiot and act like this is about "earning" something. Fucking paint for my ship should not cost MORE than my ship and be an end-game goal! The reward is not worth the effort.
@@skyscall I've not found that to be true. I have had some very large strider types that move incredibly slow once mounted. Very fast when not mounted.
@@skyscall The larger something is, the slower the movement would be. It would take much longer strides but it's physical movement would be quite slow. A perfect example of this is Ant-man in the film Ant-man once he makes himself extremely large, his movements are very slow.
I’d like to see an update that would maybe let you build animal holding cells in your freighter or something like how we can store our ships. Cause you’re right 6 slots isn’t enough. I’m always rotating one out
@@colelangford6369 have fun cleaning up the poop, make sure you don't accidentally slip in it. Not to mention the damage the clumsy animals would do to electronic panels and wiring etc etc, if nms was real life 😉
It won't take long for that to be a reality...lol. I have a feeling they didn't cap it, so the only limit is gonna be whatever variable type they used to hold the size number....
My baby diplo became a trike 3 times longer than my ship upon hatching. When it's old enough I'll try to mutate its baby back to a diplo, then see how tall I can make it :P
@@AnotherInternetBlip yeah creatures are awesome and all but NMS needs more main story/lore updates and self contained secondary story quests going on so that you have more incentive to keep playing besides grinding for the next cool system they add to the game
I would love for you to be able to go to more planets and have more aggressive creatures that will attack you. Instead of very few agressive creatures and most planets just being peaceful other than sentinals.
I found a flying pet with a gas cloud effect trailing behind him I think it’s one of the rarest pets for that reason, on a barren planet in a green system the planet is named cecellen when I get the glyphs I’ll repost.
The glyph for a planet in the system is Face, bird, balloon, fish, sunset, sunset, boat, fish, bird, rocket, rocket, dragonfly. Hope that helps :) also the pet is names Ultra rare. Gas squid
you can repeatedly enhance the size and personality by resequencing it again over and over before hatching, traits will claim 'inherited' if its maxed out already.
Apparently, for height-generation you don't have to wait until the egg is done. You can put it back in the sequencer up to eight time to make creatures grow. :3
Lan G: What happens if you sequence a single egg multiple times? Does it replace the previous sequence or does it add on to that? Joshua Gabisan: It adds on to it. I got mine so large that its poop was triple the size of my character. @Lan G okay thanks for the reply. I tried to sequence one egg multiple times using the same element and eventually the embryo status just doesn’t show any change, i guess it hit the limit.
@@inspiron1552 if you know what you're shooting for and what elements drive those changes, this can save a lot of time going the generational route...thanks!
It's so cool having a mate to explore with. And there's so many things we can do in the game now... I image until the end of year what we should see...
No man's sky: How to make everyone turn the game to offline mode when entering the anomaly because it has became the Grand Exchange of Runescape: Too many pets, way too big pets. Can't see anything. XD
@@austingates3623 exactly, I recevied the same amount of money and I didn't even beg. One guy was like "do ya want some units bruh?" and of course I answered yes. They are really humble
While I do agree that the first 50 hs of any playthrough are at least half spent on inventory management, I do wonder how a late-game max-slot ship with a maxed out exosuit isn't enough for some people's storage needs Freighters make this problem even more nonexistent What should be done is make them storage modules cheaper, tbh
@@MinosML we only get like 6 to own I feel like we should have more so we can collect more ships to sell or just to have, It sucks having to part with ships you like cus you used up all your slots and need one for say a cool living ship you found or made.
I got the same pet yesterday from an egg. Basically, I caught a dinosaur from a lush planet, made him lay an egg, then modified that egg stats with bad stuff like rotten eggs' monsters loot
Is there any difference between, say, sequencing an egg and then immediately putting it into the machine and sequencing it again versus letting it hatch and then sequencing the offspring? Would sequencing one egg 9 times be the same result as a 10th generation baby?
Yeah I tried this you can just keep making changes to one egg However other then 100% up or down on personality which will be indicated by saying increase or decrease but eventually saying inherited(100% reached on that personality) you'll be guessing on how big your making it depending how many times you 100% dose the height. I did one egg 10 times(it was huge) so I just decreased it's egg by 5 and it was better. One of many experiments. I've only been running height and personality experiments.
@@NeoIsrafil that was my plan but after a certain size depending on the creature they act kinda glitchy after a certain size. My diplo at one point was tripping on its own legs and if it got to close when it did it would slingshot me (injuring my character aswell), also they start to move slower the bigger you make them 😑 my hellhound couldn't even run at one point however the floating creatures don't seem to have this problem but they don't move that fast in general so... Also big creatures better to have adventures so they don't stay so close and you can watch them roam but medium to small creatures are good at high devotion so they run by your side the whole time(good for dog or cat like creatures).
That unusual crab looking creature, don't suppose you did a video of its location. Been looking for something similar and hit about six unusual planets now with no luck.
Just found that one on the Omega Expedition. Planet Nash in the Doriguc VII system location: face, water, boat, face, water, face, spiral, water, water, water, balloon, planet
Just started this game about 4 days ago and seriously haven't played much of anything else. So glad I looked past the original reviews and looked into where the game is at now. I'm loving it so much

I want an update where u can have a base floating in space and when you open the galaxy map, it gives you the option to just be in interstellar space and just float there, not in a solar system, like you know how you can warp into other stars, there should be an option to stop the ship while warping just to see the dark stary interstellar space
Does anyone know if planets change over time? Because my old rainy planet which I left halfway through last year and just visited again today is now a paradise planet.
What I would like to know is that are there creatures able to be ridden that travel faster than walking speed? Or at least faster than the faster exocrafts?🤔
Some creatures definitely have growth caps. My robot doesn't go any bigger than 3 meters. I tried several generations trying to get past 3 meters and they all just stayed 3 meters. There might be some creatures that have no cap. I'm not sure.
You can 100% dose 1 egg multiple times and the results do stack. You can just keep making changes to one egg However other then 100% up or down on personality which will be indicated by saying increase or decrease but eventually saying inherited(100% reached on that personality) you'll be guessing on how big your making it depending how many times you 100% dose the height. I'm just tryna play no mans sky in vr But in 3rd person I hate that vr is being forced to be a 1st person experience. Let me enjoy all my fucking games as they are just in vr. Same. Exact. Game. Just 3 dimensional viewing. Please. You bastards.
How do you have cool looking creatures and yet I run into bird hybrids everywhere ?. The most unique ones I've seen was a 8 legged beetle crab thing and a flying centipede sand worm thing
The game doesnt tell you abything at all, only in tutorial and later IT just pings where to go and whan you are trying to hatch void egg you will get only coordinats
