Finally installed my brand new custom interior in my Trans Am ws6. Turned out perfect! Interior - www.andersoncus... Leather - relicate.com My info- Instagram @therealchrisblasius
There is a whole blog on ls1.tech on converting our old ugly factory steering wheel to a newer corvette wheel. I did this and it's the best conversion. I have adapted the steering wheel controls for the radio as well. Also there is info on there to adapt an airbag as well. You can put a Pontiac or WS6 logo in the center. People who see mine remark on how great it looks, also ask me to do theirs. I also like factory installed looking modifications .
Very tasteful upgrades! Once you get the rest of the interior panels and center console done it should really tie everything together. The steering wheel is going to be tricky. I don't think you should add the shift light, but that's just my personal taste. I prefer the OEM look as well. My best friend had the generation before yours. Loaded, T-Tops, the full setup. Sadly he sold it but we always wished Pontiac would have offered a better interior for the WS6.
Here a suggestion if you are open to it. I have seen guys wrap the plastic on gauge cluster trim. that piece thats like plastic then goes to that vinyl dash then back to plastic. It makes it look less cheap.
Fix the panels in my 2001 firebird formula, Replace the metal fastenings with plastic ones, (a real bitch to pull out btw) lots of rubber bands and some JB weld, very much did the trick. Let me know if you want pics.
Good idea and well done. I would have added some firebird logo or something but I also love the clean look too! What did you decide on with the steering wheel, I hate then so much they are just too big
This looks perfect brother! Very very very well done. I have to do this to mine. I do like the idea of doing the console cover and the steering wheel. Do you plan on doing the dash? Im sure its extremely difficult on our cars. Keep the T/A content coming on here and IG.
@@ChrisBlasius go with aftermarket steering wheel you will never look back. i have a few pics i can send u that i've collect from people putting them on cars
Just to let you know why the panels crack in the first place. Its due to the black metal window piece. In the sun light it expands and pressure from the staples causes it to crack. I fixed mine before they got too bad.
