This is honestly a good method, especially for those who don’t have Oxi Clean, Goo Gone and all that jazz. Would love to try this method on my Coffin Bean Twyla and Frights Camera Action Operetta
i have so many dolls and i basically gave up on doing their hair after a while because of the glue i couldnt get out with dish soap and stuff. THANK YOU, will try asap totally forgot to update but girl it WORKS!!!
i cannot thank you enough for this honestly, in the u.k. goo gone and such other treatments are SO expensive and WD is actually really cheap so i’m gonna try this out asap❤
You can also sprinkle baby powder or corn flour into the head to absorb some of the glue it really works too. I have done it to some of my Barbie’s that had really bad glue seepage
So I tried it on an Ever After Maddie who's hair was basically a football helmet and put a ton inside the head since it was hard as a rock too, tons of glue came out of it in chunks and now the head is back to being squishy, which now I can fix all the others but downside is her hair is discolored because of how long it's had the glue on it, had I known years ago the color would still be even
Gonna have to try this. I almost donated my favorite Frankie because the seepage was so bad, and Rochelle has been a mess since the day I opened her. I'm glad I held off because I really want to save poor Frankie's hair. I did let Gigi go though. Sorry girl.
Ooo I got to try this!! I really wanna clean up a lot of my old gluey MH dolls so this is perfect! Also, I was scared to touch Gigi for her hair alone, but this gives me hope I can re-do her hair. 💜
I tried this method on my frights camera action drac and it worked well! There was a big clump of glue in her hair that I just couldn't get out and this method managed to remove it!
Amazing! I can’t want to try it. It’s nice that you can wash it out quickly and you don’t have to let it sit on the hair for hours like with the goo gone method.
help i wanna do this so bad with my original basic clawdeen and frankie bc their glue seepage is so bad and frankie is starting to yellow but im so scared bc they’re first batch with straight arm pegs and gold elastic that i dont wanna chip their faces 😭
Hi, look for spray rust cleaners that come with a thin plastic staw. I'm in Turkey and find that they're the same as WD40. Haven't tried it on my dolls yet but confident it will work the same way
Well look at that! 🎉 love me some Gigi she is my resident Scorpio Chick and Enchantress Genie to boot… purrr. This WD40 thing is wild. We love this for us tho! Thank you Jay✨💋👌🏾
I’ll have to give this a shot on my gloom and bloom Jane! Her hair is so gluey and gross so fingers crossed it works 😬 I haven’t seen anything that says WD-40 damages the doll hair sooo
I’ve got a skulltimate roller maze operetta and she’s got a hard head, I’ve fixed her hair up, she’s seeped no glue so far so wooo and I’m gonna re-boil wash her cus I wanna give her a middle part
+ some dolls use the glue that dries (G2 for the most part and a few random batches through G1) and some G1 dolls were never produced with glue at all ? :D
Tbh 😅 I used baby powder and massaged it into the hair, after words I boiled washed them 😅 since I don’t have anything an my OxiClean is still packed up 🥲
So i bought a rough looking Gigi doll from a charity shop and decided to restore her. Her hair was a hot mess, all tangled up, greasy and gluey even after washing and boiling her. I couldn't do her og hairstyle coz i couldn't figure out how and didn't know abou the little thing in her hair lol. But i did a different hair style on her and i just love her i wish i could show you she is my most successful restored doll yet
I’m a uk baby and I live in the uk so we don’t have any of this stuff can anyone lead me to any methods? I tried baby powder on getting fairest maddie but the hair wins every time
i prefer wd40 to goo gone, its easier to clean out too when i use goo gone i need to rinse it out like four times before letting it dry, wd40 is so much quicker and easier
This has been around for a while. WD40 is a good cheap alternative for the glue head cure- though warning- after awhile it has to be redone, cause glue head comes back >
I have a challenge for you. A disgrace in monster high world...catrine de mew. She is white and the glue turn her skin into yellow. Is there a way to fix it? Who knows. Mine has all the head super yellow and also the torso yellow. And some parts of the legs too. A disaster 😭
My Catrine turned yellow too, so sad. The only thing we can do is paint them and seal them with Mr. Super Clear. There are many tutorials on how to do it on youtube. My Spectras yellowed too
@@sarahcelik3738Yellow spots can be removed with 6% hair bleaching oxide! Distribute the oxide onto the stains, cover with cling film and place in the sun or ultraviolet light for a day. Important! Don't put this on doll makeup!
it doesn’t remove the glue inside the head, it just removes the glue thats seeped out, you’ll probably have to do this again in a couple months if the glue seeps afterwards
@@possumqe9751 Thank you so much for your response. The dolls I wanted to use this method on are getting stained faces from the glue inside the head. Do you think I should do a whole reroot for those?
SAME THING HAPPENED WITH MY GIGI! I gave up 😔 but you could always re root her and I’m pretty sure that he has a reroofing tutorial! I rerooted my clawdeen doll (G3) because they weren’t lying, she was UGLY!
If I get a MH Gen 1 doll at a thrift store I'll wash their hair and have my Dad and brother's put the WD40 in their hair and have mom wash it out for me
One of my Frankie dolls has this problem so bad that her ENTIRE head is discolored. This problem is already pretty common with G1 Monster High dolls. I think it’s because of the type of glue they used 🤔 but don’t quote me on that! 😅 Whatever the reason, glue head syndrome is a sticky, nasty problem!
