i fucking knew it, when i saw the countdown teasers i immediately thought Gal-o Sengen, even better that it's the same artist and not just a recreation of the style.
I love how the other people in the game are constantly stumbling over their own feet while Velvet chairgirl maintained a perfect record and only lost because Travis was faster than her
Suda with the first two NMH games: "I'm gonna make a satire of violence in video games." Suda, high on drugs, directing NMH3: "If nobody is gonna put a musical chairs boss fight in their action game then I will."
For those who thinks velvet chair girl has a voice she doesn't, so she speaks through sign language, (judging by her sign language in the beginning the challenges travis to a duel of musical Chairs and will kill him with her pet ohma (who is a girl as well)
This was hands down the weirdest damn boss in the game. I never thought I'd be playing musical chairs in No More Heroes for one thing, but that Ohma thing was the clincher. Literally fires a shoop da whoop that turns everything it hits into horrific acid-fueled bubblegum lava lamp cartoon caricatures, and screams "ADRIAN!" over and over. Especially at the end when it's melting and its eyes are gone. That's fucking creepy Gotta hand it to you Suda, you sure have quite an imagination...
@@squirtyharry she was the most easiest boss in the game to be honest but what really threw me off with how fast the song goes and I couldn't mash the buttons at the same time because it was so quick. As soon as I try to run to the chair she already beat me to it and Ohma obliterated my ass that really pissed me the hell off.
I think that Ohma thing screaming "ADRIAN" is a parody of Rocky Balboa when he scream the name of his girlfriend which is Adrian. This is purely a theory but it makes so much sense to me given the kind of stuff there is in the No More Heroes series.
I love how casual this game is. Like everybody's just chatting casually and playing games while some weeb singlehandedly crushes an alien invasion and, by proxy, becomes the best assassin in the entire galaxy
Imagine going to a Convention and seeing someone pull off a Velvet Chair girl Cosplay perfectly and I’m talking the balls to the wall insane Entourage and her hand movements before ohma screams Adrian.
Jeez for something that started with a bunch of crazy lsd cutouts and wacky musical chairs that sure got sad. I gotta stop underestimating this games writing
fu was not actually the evil one entire time and was raised poorly by a tyrant father etc. hell fu has potential be travis friend and so on if brought up right also his children should travel back in time and protect fu and raise fu
I was laughing playing this. Bring back childhood memories. Lots of easter eggs to be found as well. Kudos to you suda51 and also for the future Netflix series that will be coming.
A Netflix series for anything Suda related would entirely miss Suda's Kill the Past theme and get lost in "LMAOOO REFERENCE BLOOD SWEAR PERVY REFEREEEENCE." It'd be like Deadpool, but awful. Kind of exactly like how Shadows of the Damned turned out. Definitely a no-vote from me.
Ohma and baby FU. Like okay, one tried to kill you and one is the villain of the entire game, but it still sucks to see cute tiny creatures get diced-up or blasted in a ship.
i felt sad in that cutscene too, but i wouldn't put the blame on Travis, seeing Ohma like that just make me mad at VCG, she could just back out after losing and let Travis take the 6th rank, but her pride made her chose to kill herself over well... a chair game and leaving Ohma to be bullied or killed by FU, kind of a dick move.
I actually envisioned what would a legit boss fight with VCG would involve her strutting to a seat and attacking her attracts Omah's attention as it fires it's beam. She gets three different types of chairs, Hot Seat (A burning chair that allows her to charge at Travis and takes reduced damage), Gun Seat (Her ranged attack where she fires lasers and missiles to blow up Travis) and Iron Throne where she would kick Travis to it like a grapple and doing a good chunk of damage. The goal is to force her to sit on the iron throne while dodging the Hot Seat and Ohma
I just realized Ohma’s fight is somewhat similar to Captain Vladimir. They have a giant lazer that goes around the place and you have to get behind them to attack.
I'm three days into a real bad flu, and have been getting by just watching youtube on my phone and this? This broke my brain. I'm too zonked out to even comprehend that the shapes and colors on screen are mean to represent anything.
I always thought the idea was that the money payed for the fight fee went to her, and thus Travis being the highest ranked assassin, meant people would pay a lot of money to get at him.
Considering the amount of money is dumped onto her lap, quite a bit. If anything, one can argue that the fights are actually free, but Sylvia basically wants the money out of Travis so that she can enjoy the finer things in life. Things like shopping, clubbing, vacationing, a personal Limo, lounging time by the beach (and beach yoga), foot massages, personal helicopters with no additional seatings, and other random things that I can't immediately find quickly enough online.
Sylvia explains during one of Bishop and Travis’ conversations that the UAA collaborating with FU’s game is the primary reason why the aliens don’t just wipe out the planet immediately and she’d rather Travis and their kids not get killed; plus she gives Travis info on his opponents since she hates the aliens too.
It was pretty cool in my opinion it was like the games Speed Buster moment in my opinion I was dissapointed we didn't get to fight VANISHING POINT and that 2nd rank dude fun brutally beat to death still glad you unlock costumes after beating the game tho
Is not ASL as she does hand gestures that doesn't exist in ASL. I did a little research and it's JSL as Japan has it's own sign language. So basically speaking the message is still in Japanese because while the game got translated to English and another languages, the sign language didn't get a translation (maybe because devs would need more time to reanimate the sign language to properly convey her message in other countries) We need someone who knows JSL if we wanna know her dialogue with less chance of errors but for starters with the little research I did trying to understand, seems like in the beginning when she's walking with her weird entourage she probably says "Exciting"
Claiming it now. Octopus (Deadly Seppun) is the BEST song by Red Orca, PERIOD. Especially the rock version. Should’ve been FU’s final fight theme, since he was introduced by it.
Probably my favorite boss design wise Is there a translation for the sign language VCG is doing at the beginning or is she not actually saying anything?
I was expecting more from this kind of boss fight. Instead kills herself because of losing and fight the Squid monster..

Kinda disappointed tbh. The Fu trailer made her and Ohma look so devastating and then it’s just this. Still love the randomness and wackiness of the fight though.
@@AHorseThatIsARadish Well, its a bit of a turn out and completely out of the ordinary game. First boss fight with Mr. Blackhole certainly gives a vibe that all other alien boss are like same fight gameplay with different strategies. I'm laughing my ass off that Vanishin Point, Black Night, Sniping Lee (both killed by earthlings) and Paradox Bandit. But oh well, the trailer vs. The actual story was a real twist..
I think I know how Suda 51 designs his games now, he consults a random word generator, straps each word to his one hundred honorable interns, then grabs a crate of lawn darts and shotguns that shit across the office screaming like a madman and whichever intern gets the most darts stuck in them he goes with that.

@@denishachan3941 to me the gameplay is one of the highlights of this game. The heavy attack has some weight to it and feels good when it lands, and is rewarding when you do perfect dodges or guards. If only the open world aspect was as fun as the combat is.
haven't finished the game yet but so far velvet chair girl's face just kinda exploding after beating her in a musical chairs minigame is the hardest ive laughed at a game in a while. im very confused why the octopus says adrian though, i feel like there's a reference im not getting
He also said if another NMH was to be made it'd be in another 10 years or so with a great enemy to the north and if you finish the game you'd have an idea of who that is
