Caramel Cake in a Cup
This Caramel cake is made of a basic fluffy chiffon cake and frost with a luscious caramel sauce. There are many versions on how to make the caramel frosting but this is one of the best and the easiest.
cake batter:
1 cup all purpose flour, sifted
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp powdered milk, optional
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup water
1 tsp vanilla essence
merigue:
4 egg whites
1/4 tsp white vinegar
1/2 cup white sugar
Caramel Sauce:
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup hot water
1 1/4 cups evaporated milk
1/2 cup white sugar(more or less)
1/4 cup butter
