Supertigre .34 on 60' lines. Control line is surprisingly "a Huckers Delight" I started w/ C/L and have always kept one around as a side show (5 flights every few years lol) BUT, this Nobler is Awesome, it's super smooth yet responsive; makes me desire to get more serious about C/L maneuvers instead of just huck'n round like I do lol. Having a dedicated C/L circle at the flight field adds a total "JOY" factor; an infinite runway for long landing roll outs... way cool!
This thing kicks the poop out of my .35 sized flight streak in being a pure pleasure to fly! Wow Fun!
The Piano playing at the end is me.
Warning:
Don't trust the provided inner-wing push-rod Clevis! You won't just loose flaps or Elevator, You'll loose "BOTH" = Crash. I got lucky to find or notice the clevis problem as I was building it! It had me fooled right up to, "I almost sealed it in, thinking it was OK"!
Worse yet is that I had questioned it "thoroughly" because it just didn't seem right (felt thread-loose) but still I put it in! I Was lucky that it slipped on it's own as I found my flaps had "untrimmed" with my elevator after I had set it up "perfectly". It tricked me "for real"! Just Replace it!
Robert

Very nice to find a video from the pilot's standpoint. Gives a good impression of the fun. Completely different from RC, but your display makes me want to build one. Thanks a lot !

You are very Welcome! If you get this one please read my script about the pushrod clevis, all else in the kit (ARF) was fine. Thank You for the comment!

@@robertshaver4432 Thanks, read it. I'd like to build from scratch with silk covering. Nitrate dope and castor oil smell so nice.

Nice flying indeed..I noticed the slack in the lines they must be Kevlar
@robertshaver4432
@robertshaver4432 3 года назад
Yep it's not the steel lines. The few times that they went totally slack was my fault in doing the maneuvers in the wrong position for the wind direction. Nobler doesn't pull very hard so the 60ft lines may be a little long for it. I used to fly them on 52ft lines but enjoy the larger circle. Thanks for the complement!

Nice flying. I built a noble jr. in the 80s. Very light and maneuverable. Only had farm field to fly in. No take offs, big flair landings. You're a better flyer than I was, lots of fun. Still in attic, these videos got me motivated to recover and fly my old models. Thanks.

Cool yes get them back out and enjoy them. Don't forget to get the Self Launcher out too. Thanks for the complements and go get some fun! Robert

@@claudeladow2334 Just a thought: I built my own launcher that seconds as a shelf in my camper shell for my S-10 pickup. In my play lists open "2nd choice, still good" playlist and you'll find another Nobler video. skip to the end and I show my built launcher. It's not a launcher build but it shows what I built. I really like it because it offers a short run-off to get some speed before you hit the lawn/grass/or etc. Just a thought if interested. I've used it as a shelf more than I have as a launcher lol. Thanks again! Robert

@@claudeladow2334 in the script explains what looks funny: the surgical tubing just covers the string and prevents it from folding back and getting tangled in the tail. It offers zero in holding the aircraft.

I just love Noblers. Your Nobler does fly good. It seems to be able to turn and stop which is much desired in a stunt plane. Your invert level bottoms are to die for! It appears to me that your lines get a little slack at times and should be a bit shorter and that would also allow the engine to run a little richer to get into more of a 4-2-4 engine run. Just my unsolicited thoughts. Thumbs up!!! I think you could become a very good stunt competitor.

Wow thank you for the tips and the back pat lol. C/L is a-lot of fun, amazing how many R/Cers have never witnessed it.

what sise of engine and prop are you using ??
@robertshaver4432
@robertshaver4432 7 лет назад
Supertigre .34 and a Wooden Master Airscrew 10-5; I never used to run this rich but had to try it for seeing all the experts run theirs even richer. Think I'll lean it like I did before.

one more time,, wings glue in fuselage??
@robertshaver4432
@robertshaver4432 7 лет назад
The covering is Top Flight "Monocote" which I consider to be the best that there is. The cowl is fiberglass and seems plenty strong. The wings do get epoxied to the fuselage and therefore are not removable after you glue them on (model is one piece when finished). I believe that I added a slight bit more weight to the (right) outside wing and maybe also added a-bit more right rudder to help keep the lines tight in-flight. Some People change the lead out lines to a solid wire type but I left mine as they came installed in the kit and have had no troubles with them. I would recommend a .40 sized motor but the .34 that I used has been fine, depends on your type of flying, if you like to tune your engine super rich then a .40 sized engine would be best but it sounds like you intend yours to be electric of which I know almost nothing about. What would I change if I were to build another? I think I would reduce how much the flaps move as compared to the elevator by moving the flap pushrod in one hole on the bellcrank. This is a personal preference thing and is outside of what the professionals would recommend because they like the model to slow down when control inputs are made. It's a great flying airplane and you will have no regrets in owning one. Robert

hi dear Sir.... you fly Sullivan handles?? Nobler arf?? good quality??? thank you respond Jan Novak Prague city Česká republika
@robertshaver4432
@robertshaver4432 7 лет назад
The handle is probably an old Sullivan from my days gone past. I've seen much nicer handles and recommend "what ever works" for you. Yes It's a Nobler ARF and I have no complaints about the quality except, don't use the clevises in the kit, they are tricky in that they seem to thread just fine but they don't, it's a very loose fit and they (it) will slip off of the pushrod if held in a perfect alignment, I was fooled by it at first until my setup changed (because it slipped), careful it seems to work just fine until you align it "just right" and then it slips down the threads. Other than that I say "yes" it's good quality ARF and mine is built with all of the other included components. If you desire to make one that's electric powered I say "yes" it would be awesome and maybe even better! Mine has an Supertigre .35 glow engine on it, I intended a larger engine but was offered this one from a friend and liked that it was an old school engine that fit the scheme of The Nobler being a "Vintage" model (from my days gone past). I don't fly C/L but a few days per year, it brings back Happy childhood memories. thanks for inquiring and I hope to have answered in a helpful way. Robert

Please edify the ignorant: what do you mean by "hucking"?
@robertshaver4432
@robertshaver4432 8 лет назад
+Slackmaster9 Hucking is Modeler slang for taking chances via low flight or pulling out of a maneuver late enough to look scary or performing any maneuver that could turn to certain detriment in a half split second thus causes an adrenalin rush even to onlookers; that's the jest of it in my book anyway. It's Hucking FUN!!! lol

+Robert Shaver thanks! That seems like a pretty good definition! I used to fly c/l back in the '60s and again around 1980. Had a Jr. Nobler and a Smoothie, and I still have a Flite Streak but nowhere to fly it here and NOBODY around here (southern VA) flies c/l. So now I fly a Hubsan fpv quad, and I'm lovin' it.
