Nobody Expected This Character (Smash Ultimate Character Reveal) 

There is something unbelievably comical about watching a near shot-for-shot recreation of Cloud and Sephiroth's final duel from Advent Children with One Winged Angel blaring; with Mario just flailing across the screen. Only Smash Bros.

Sephiroth then proceeds to pull out a comically large sword

I may not have played a Final Fantasy game before, but I’m happy that Sephiroth is in, and I’m happy for those who wanted him in.

Reminder that the stage Sephiroth split in half was Cloud's stage. With hazards, one of the hazard it feature is one of the summons splitting the stage in half. So no, Sephiroth didn't split the stage. That's Sakurai using the game to generate some hype gameplay.

For those who didn't see FF7 Advent Children, Cloud's Omnislash Ver.5 appeared as his finishing move for Sephiroth in the movie. That was likely Cloud's alternate FS like Ryu and Ken.

Never played FF7 before, have no connection to this character. Yet I whole heartedly welcome the One Winged Angel to the Smash Bros. pantheon!!!

I think Cloud's new final smash is just going to be a replacement when you're playing as Advent Children cloud and original Cloud will still have regular omnislash.

I mean, it kinda makes sense he is being released this month, the probably started working on in in early October, so that gives them about 3 months to make a character. If he is delayed for whatever reason, he is almost definitely getting released January 2021.

the stage split thing is just a stage hazard on midgar. If you collect the odin materia that floats around, you summon odin and he comes in the cut the stage in half. They just edited it to make it look like sephiroth did it. If you look at it again you can tell the stage was already cut before sephiroth slashed up

I hope he's badass, and not too slow, a fast villian would be dope

I saw your chat talking in the background, and saw them mentioning Cloud's sword looked different, and it even looks different from Advent Children. After Omnislash in the movie, Cloud's sword looked like a more basic frame, but same shape, as the full form, but in this, it looks more rounded. Wonder why?

Dude sakuira shoot banjo and kazooie trailer two days after heroe. He got sick during smash four almost had perement dam to his hand. Good thing a doctor made him take off. He also fainted in public very begging of the year.

I dislike that it's another sword fighter and with long range, I've never complained about this before. And that he's another third-party character that isn't an echo from another game that's already covered in Smash... But indeed NOBODY expected this and I know it's super hype for FF fans. Also we shouldn't really complain when we have so many characters in the game. I just would have preferred a Nintendo character. If third-party then I'd want Shantae, Monster Hunter/Palico and Geno (for the fans).
