@@krystianadryanczyk4583 I never said it was his best lmao. I said it's better than anything else from this era. I'd love to hear if you think there's an example of a better vocal performance from plant in the 90s though
I'm glad to hear Robert do the Original Blues Version of this song. "It's Nobody's Fault but Mine" or "Nobody's Fault but Mine" is a song first recorded by gospel blues artist Blind Willie Johnson in 1927. It is a solo performance with Johnson singing and playing slide guitar. The song has been interpreted and recorded by numerous musicians in a variety of styles, including Led Zeppelin on their 1976 album Presence.
Totally groovy Absolutely amazing That’s why Jimmy and Robert were taking Led Zeppelin era in a higher level position in Music History Brilliant performance 🎭 🎸
I grew up with Led. Best band ever. And like a fine wine, sometimes they get better with age. Love this version because if fits with those of us rockers, who too, slowed down. Peace man!
*_"I grew up with Led. Best band ever. "_* If yo grew up with them, you'd be calling then Zeppelin. So there's something odd here. But this is a good cover. [:o:O:]
Can anyone believe this is really GOSPEL?? I can't speak for anyone else, but I feel the spirit in it and joy that these guys along with Robert Plant and the bad guitar man Jimmy Page are having playing and I wanna jump, dance and shout too,WOW!! PLANT AND PAGE KILLED THIS ONE!! I watched this docu- performance on MTV years ago when album dropped,I was overwhelmed and my Grandma ( GOD REST HER SOUL) heard this song and started tapping her feet,I treasure that moment, thanks to PAGE/PLANT for making a wonderful memory!!
@@actionhanzmcpage7863 It’s a gospel blues song...there’s actually a ton of material from that era (up to the present day) that would be considered gospel blues. For example, some of Blind Willie’s other songs include “Jesus Is Coming Soon,” I Know His Blood Can Make Me Whole,” and “Church, I’m Finally Saved Today.” Lots of deep spirituality in the blues going back nearly a century. So it’s still accurate to call this a gospel song.
He had surgery in the 70's to remove some nodules it definitely affected his voice. But there's periods later on years after where it seems he got some of that range back where previously his voice was cracking trying to reach it.
I noticed a question 'where's that slag heap?' I think they're referring to the beautiful blue slate of my homeland in Snowdonia North Wales also the location for Bron yr Aur cottage, great to have the slate of Blaenau Ffestiniog used as the back drop for such a great performance. Robert Plant has a home here in Wales and has lived in a various homes here for a very long time, For the international readers Wales is the bit to the left to what is now called England and retains what is left of the original Brythonic culture of the island of Britain pushed west and north over two thousand years, we have our own language but are constantly under pressure. Our flag can be found on Robert Plants boat in song remains the same, at that time he lived South East Wales.
Thanks you for that information I am 1/4 Welsh! My grandmother's name was Jones. Tom Jones is also Welsh! I have become a Japanese dog, but I like my new life reincarnate (Re-embody) and I look dam good with prick ears! cjn
So good this album and a clever différent way to interprèt and adapt those greats songs .Thanks to jimmy, robert,.....john ans all of the band.So good memories.See you there.
"I love and appreciate my body." You only get one body. Learn to love and appreciate it regardless of it shortfalls, problems or limitations. Make the best of the body you were given and take care of it.
Because Jones, Plant, and Page have been doing it so long, and I'm so old, I've been listening to what they've been putting down for so long , that on occasion I've lost track of their latest efforts, but never have they failed to grab me and shake me with their music, rarely do they rest on theirs laurel's they still have the gift of making the old new ...keep pushing boys, your still inspiring to people like me ,thank you....
This version is even better than the original! My then husband and I saw Page and Plant when they toured during this era. Same band members. Michael Lee channeled J.B. It was awesome. I am sad to hear of Lee's passing.
Tried to leave one day to go to England. I never made it home. Lost everything. Love you forever. Trying to fly to England. To see you. Miss you. Mary.Page.
This is ffffff beautiful love this version rock on jimmy page & to one of gods most beautiful angels taken too soon . my beautiful nessa who left us toooo soon 04/22/13
I think this version just can't compete with the huge groove of drum and bass, the psychedelic intro and the freaking good harmonica solo that the original arrangement has. Anyway I really like this version too!
I met Robert and hung out with his band for three days in 1993 when they were rehearsing for their Fate of Nations Tour in Lakeland Florida. That was the first time he brought Micheal Lee to the states. The joy on Roberts face when I simple said, where the fuck did you get that drummer., He merely smiled and said he's good, yes? RIP Michael..
I started playing drums in 1970, and by 1977 I was in a all Zep band, I love this drummers kit, I've always had a 26inch Bass drum, and always Ludwigs, I haven't played in 25 yrs. my sons friend put a small video on You Tube under Keith howard olsen, I know it sucks, but I just over came a real bad addiction to Opiates and Alcohol, I'm thankful to my ex wife of 30 yrs. and my 5 kids,
For those of you that don't know, this is actually a corver song. This is much closer to the original song. This 8 bar blues influenced, slowed down version is much better IMO!
Rowdy Rob- The cut on Presence is not a cover. That song and the original only share the same name, but the lyrics are different. It can be hardly considered a cover. Especially when 4 more minutes of music was created out of the original, which was gospel, whereas this one is about drugs.
