Myself and my partner were here in the crowd for this. It was so hot and dusty. Now this version of this song is so etched in our memories 28 years later ❤ incredible fusion of the Egyptian orchestra and Zeppelin. I felt blessed seeing this.
Another RU-vidr called it a rock n roll magic carpet ride. It really is a journey through the Moroccan desert (according to Robert Plant). He said he was inspired by a long road in the desert of Morocco on his trip, a road they drove down which never seemed to end. The beauty and power of this song give me goosebumps.
@@worldisillusion11 you must must stop in Amman, Jordan and visit Petra. It is one of the worlds seven wonders. You can ride through it on horseback. An entire city carved from stone. And maybe you can play this in your headphones there. 😊
@@Flatwin4ever I think that C19 G12 is saying with the comment, “wow, that is really cool”, rather than an insult. It really is cool that the violinist posted this video and I thank him for sharing it with us. A fantastic performance created by talented musicians.
Simply amazing! The Egyptian musicians were incredible, and the fusion was fantastic. You can see the joy on Jimmy’s face, and Robert was so inspired his vocal took off beyond its usual high stratosphere. Fantastic!
Robert Plant: I am a traaaaaaaaaveler, those vocals sent tingles up and down my body and brought tears of joy to my eyes. Beautiful, like really 🎉 Jimmy his usual masterful self on guitar and the rest of the ensemble 😮 Wow!!! Thank you so much for posting this ❤❤❤❤
The most fantastic concert I'd ever been to. Wasn't outside as this is, it was at the old Petit auditorium in Milwaukee. Up in the nose bleed section, and the music just crawled into you. So even though up there you just couldn't even hear the guy next to you. It was unbelievable in so many ways.
I seriously envy the people who were able to experience Led Zeppelin in person. Even more so the ones who saw the original line up of the four gods of rock together! It’s truly amazing to me that each member of the band was considered the greatest of all time at their particular skill. Usually, it’s one (or maybe two) members that people generally consider as the GOAT. But with Led Zeppelin, all four are arguably the GOAT individually. That’s insane! Surely,, it was destiny.
Sorry, the only good part is the Egyptian violinist. Plant's singing is extremely dull. Of course the whole song is mainly ponderous and missing any inspiration - a failed attempt. 💀Obviously there is the negative repercussion of consuming drugs. 👹
I’m a huge bonham fanboy and I thought Michael Lee was spectacular. I saw the unledded tour and he brought so much energy and power to the music. Different than bonzo but wonderful in his own way. Gone too young and too soon indeed. Peace to his family and loved ones.
@terry fonz no, It's Michael Lee who became very ill and passed away after the tour. He seemed to capture Bonham's spirit and the band sounded fantastic. Terrific player and a really nice guy, terribly sad loss. I also wish Peace & Love to his family. He was a young man man with a great future ahead of him. RIP Michael Lee.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️😥
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face And stars fill my dream I'm a traveler of both time and space To be where I have been To sit with elders of the gentle race This world has seldom seen They talk of days for which they sit and wait All will be revealed Talk in song from tongues of lilting grace Sounds caress my ear And not a word I heard could I relate The story was quite clear Oh, baby, I been blind Oh, yeah, mama, there ain't no denyin' Oh, ooh yes, I been blind Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin' All I see turns to brown As the sun burns the ground And my eyes fill with sand As I scan this wasted land Try to find, try to find the way I feel Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace Like sorts inside a dream Leave the path that led me to that place Yellow desert stream My shangri la beneath the summer moon I will return again As the dust that floats high in June We're moving through Kashmir Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails Cross the sea of years With no provision but an open face Along the straits of fear Oh, when I want, when I'm on my way, yeah And my feet wear my fickle way to stay Ooh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah yeah, But I'm down oh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah Yeah, but I'm down, so down Ooh, my baby, oh, my baby Let me take you there Come on, oh let me take you there Let me take you there
Poetry in song. Imagine creating something like this ever in your lifetime, let alone in your early -to-mid twenties. I mean, how do you have that kind of “worldly” vision? When I listen to this song and really listen to the lyrics, this question still baffles me. It’s as if someone late in life who travelled the globe (or at least that part of the world) and studied different cultures their whole life wrote this. Not someone who has only been on this Earth for two decades. This is pure mind-blowing talent. 🤯
@@shirleybloesing1078 Excellent ! They say it is 1 of the easiest guitar riffs 2 learn ! Sometimes simplicity is genuis & tranquilizing ! Beautiful ! Love Zep : Page , bonham , Jones & Plant!
It's always entertaining to see rock bands collaborate with full orchestras or at least sections thereof. Putting different spins on songs like that is very cool.
Can't believe it, absolutely awesome great band, its the very best version of Kashmir I've ever heard, and of course Robert Plant outdid himself. Just beautiful. Thanks for the video. Peace and Love ❤ Janet.
Thanks so much for uploading this and may I say you play the most amazing, exquisite, hypnotic, and sensational violin in this! You elevated this already stellar song to the highest possible spiritual realm.
It's a very hypnotic song that takes the audience to far away, unknown foreign lands and forgotten places with very deep centuries old musical roots. A time before mechanical power, cameras, or electricity.
@@markgriffin4959 le concert au complet......bon, écœurant...il ne s'en fait plus , des musiciens qui ne seront jamais égalé...j'écoute encore tous leurs albums....
Your comment should be on top Precise Captures the wide variety of approaches they were devising and developing Fusion Hybrid Transcendental Not Sexy Music only
Wow, when they broke into this on stage it got crazy!! I didn't really know what to expect? Try total perfection! The 4 of them were the best band ever! No other band ever came close!
Floyd came pretty close.. I mean.. like comparing different styles=you prefer based on what you feel like at the moment. This rendition of a classic is MAGNIFICENT, Incredible, one for the ages!
@@oceanside2152 IF SOMEONE ASKS ME WHO I LIKE BETTER THE BEATLES OR THE STONES, MY ANSWER WILL BE LED ZEPPELIN. BETTER THAN EITHER BUT THE BEATLES OR THE STONES
That violin is insane. Imagine that being your father.. insane props. The pressure NOT to make a mistake with the gods of rock. Appeared very calm and happy to be there.
Wife, myself and friends, along with our daughter and friends, were so lucky to see this tour in the u.s.a. can't believe we took our daughter and friends, but they loved it. Will never forget this one. Was perfect
David Ward - I took my younger sister to the "un-ledded" concert in Boston, in 1995. Her first concert ever. Remains the best show I've been to. I saw them several times on "Walking int Clarksdale." Excellent, but not the same.
What a beautiful and fantastic performance for one of the greatest bands of my generation, certainly the Egyptian orchestra added a magnificent dimension and befitting especially for the wonderful lyrics. There was a much better HD version on YT but unfortunately was taken down, if anyone happen to have it, please upload it again, nevertheless I still appreciate the efforts of this up-loader many thanks.
+Hass moh : Yep... you speak my exact thoughts... I'm very grateful too to +Zaman el Fann El Gameel (Wael Abou Bakr) for having uploaded this gem. However, if anyone happens to come accross the other version, I'm utterly interested too! Anyway, let's enjoy this :-D
Simply awesome! I was there. In the scorching heat. Listening to Page, Plant, and the amazing other musicians being ‘Led Zeppelin’. But without the baggage. Of ‘being ‘Zep’. If that makes sense. Pure joy on everyone’s faces. Including the crowd.
Don't get me wrong I love how they're playing with the song here, but the thing I really love about the recording studio Kashmir is the relentless rhythm!
I saw Page/Plant in ‘95. Kashmir was epic. The wall of sound behind them consisted (that night) of this Egyptian ensemble, a huge Moroccan ensemble, plus The Seattle Symphony Orchestra and the backing band. It was awesome. The sound was indescribable. “Awesome” falls short. My friend that was with me called it “Godlike”. Anyway; This was the direction that Zeppelin was heading before the end, so it was really cool to see. Thanks.
ingroundpool I'm still waiting for all to be reviled in my life, I'm 58 hang in there, we will know before the end. Righteousness self love and of others is a part of the revile. I'm sure of it. Peace out 👽👽
I was there up front with my dear friend "Marty"", we cruised the festival scene for many a year & seen most of the bands @ Glasto, led zep always been tops
WOW thank you RU-vid you really dug deep into the archives for this fantastic wonderful couldn't be better playlist for me it's the best one I love it thank you youtube your the best one ever
Sublime moment in rock history! Friends of the future. The masters you saw performing are Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. They were members of the rock group, Led Zeppelin who were among the greatest rock bands ever to play and for the ages to enjoy.
A monster song, sung be a master of vocals and written by a musical genius, thank you for a great posted song never heard this version b4. Ass kicking as always!!!
Jeasus God...what a performance!!! Who is that violin dude...f-ing awesome!!! Partied to this tune 1000 times over last 30 yrs... When it's good it's good...when greatest ever, lasts a lifetime!! Peace, Mark- Ohio.
ceux qui n'ont jamais vu ce concert au complet je vous conseil de le télécharger et de le visionné jusqu'à la fin...écœurant, trop bon, ces vraiment 2 légendes qui resterons du top,....
This is so fricken cool, I’m melting. I remember this tour and I had no expectations and they blew me away. All the songs I grew up with but with a worldly flare. Orchestras , instruments from all around the world and just refined like a bottle of wine aging gracefully. Still in my top 10 concerts of all time.
It’s beautiful with the Egyptian orchestra but you should check their performance at Celebration Day if you haven’t already. To me it’s the best live performed rock song ever.
Saw 3 concerts with the orchestra and Egyptian Pharaohs ( plant callled them) really remarkable how it blended perfectly with plant and page especially Kashmir the violinists really delivered the standouts of the show besides plant page
With no disrespect to this amazing drummer….I miss John’s deep unique utter pounding of the drums. Perhaps it’s better preserved as Only Johns sound and not imitated. Great video. LOVE watching Grand Master Page at work!! Thanks for posting!
I was there watching this, what an honour to see these guys live and to hear Kashmir - my favourite rock song live.. the Egyptian orchestra was a magnificent addition.
Jimmy and Robert at their Late Peak here. Saw the SoFla stop of this tour and it was Fantabulous!!! Symphony and Backing Band truly highlighted this performance 😊
Longest (preceding by the violin) #Drop, Ever. It makes me realize why this is still my favorite song thanks so much for uploading it. Not denying the feeling of "wish I was there" but imagination runs wild as they say, no need for a time machine; just put on a good pair of big cups headphones close your eyes and as the song says "Oooooh yeah I can take you there". And with that said you could also become that #TRAVELER of both time and space into the future..... OH FATHER OF THE FOUR WINDS SPILL MY SAIL ACROSS THE SEA OF YEARS, WITH NO PROVISION BUT AN OPEN FACE ALONG THE STRAIT OF FEAR OOH OOH.
Who fucking said that Justin Bieber needed to be playing? I'm a bigger Zeppelin purist than you ever have been and this STANK. Michael Lee was playing like he was submerged in quicksand. Robert was overdoing his Egyptian bull shit. Not everyone has to like what you like.
Kevin Kiso I love it and being a purest limits yourself really..as for Egyptian bullshit, thats where the style of music originates along with Morocco and other places..what was he going to sing? Blues from Memphis?
I absolutely LOVE Mideastern Music having been a danser with the Delala Mur Danse Company in California the mid-70's, then to add Led Zepplin to this mix? On my way to Power House Gym NJ last night Oct 25, 2023 the radio played these songs, one had a longer version of the Egyptian music (am I wrong?). I sat in my car listening....Blow Me Away!!!! Danse, danse, danse! So Many years later how did I NOT know this collaboration took place in 1995? Heaven help us, this Musique Gives Me The Chills. I've found my inspiration to teach...God Is Good :) Peace & Love
THAT INTRO!!!!! Robert... sing from the minarets..North Africa is a majical place. This always takes me to Morocco....AMAZING..THE egyptians..sounds just like being in Egypt...GO there..the people are amazing..
