Fucking hell mate, when I used to be into Oasis I would sit by the TV looking for an Oasis interview Id have been waiting a week to see in order to video it on to VHS. When I'd watch them back on an hour-long tape I'd have to get to know the length of the whir of the reel when fast forwarding to get to the right place (by memory) - give or take a few minutes. You've got everything Oasis have ever done at the click of a mouse and it's still not accessible enough. Timestamps my arse.
he grew up in the 70s man, not the 80s like us. That movie is meaninglesss to his generation, they were into swap a shop and slade and all that shit, most of them had kids when the goonies came out.
Who gives a shit. He is 53, made more money than any of us can possibly imagine and is now happily living his twilight years away with his mates. Any of us would do exactly the same. And artistic career? Both his and Liams died the day Oasis did, unless you count shit wannabe 80's pop or dad rock to be the staple of artistic credibility.
Even in his prime, Liam's live performance was hit and miss. Every 3 gigs they did, 2 might be amazing but always one appalling. No other bands with their popularity could afford that kind of frontman. Roger Daltrey, Bono and plenty of other singers are still 9 out of 10 now. While Liam, with the help of sound effects, can't finish a full set.
He said in an interview sometime in the 90's he hates talking about Oasis and their music (the same questions for 12 hours a day over a few years must have been pretty tedious) and that he'd rather talk about other stuff, I've noticed when he's asked about Oasis songs he has stock answers, but when talking about something like football he has bigger conversations, I can imagine he hates being around fanboys asking the same questions all the time

Just a reiterated snippet that they repeat in a manner not dissimilar to a parrot afflicted with tourettes. My personal "favourites" are the frequent "Who's here in (insert date or year)?!”. Who's fucking where, you freak? Is what I have to fight not to type. My "here" is usually in my own house or at my own desk; in my own place of employment - and always in my country of residence - the ROIreland. That they see a specific video on a social media platform via the internet, accessed by an electronic device as an actual, literal "place" - evidenced in asking whom else is also at that place.....I find deeply disturbing. Finally; the reason I no longer read ANY comments section on ANY video pertaining Oasis or Liam solo? The risk of inducing suicidal ideation through the profoundly cerebrally impaired, moronic illiteracy displayed in general ; and horrifically limited vocabulary specifically..... Yep; you've guessed it: I It's the near exclusive use of one word only to express a keen enjoyment of the video :BIBLIAL. Well, about 5 'epically biblical' minutes into reading; I'm feeling the will to live ebb from my every pore. Consequently; I now just watch or listen to the aforementioned videos: I cannot justify the risk to my sanity exposing myself to further declarations of ”Biblical”..... Matt Morgan is talking like they’re the same age - but Noel is 10 years older than him. Noel was 17 when The Goonies came out - why would a 17 year old care about The Goonies? At 17 I wanted to watch Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way etc, not films for kids.
All you new oasis fans slagging off Noel and talking up Liam have no idea what you are talking about. For me it’s disgusting that Liam has turned out the way he has. Having a load of songwriters for him it’s worse then Ed sheeran. Liam doesn’t even choose his singles or is there when the music is being done, doesn’t even choose his own band. It’s all that’s wrong with music and he’s part of it. I guarantee in a few years he will face a big backlash fof if and be seen as a rock Ashley type or slade type doing tv shows! He said himself in a interview that he wouldn’t do any more music if the gigs are big or he’s not selling enough records, to me that’s absurd. You need to go back and look at all the songs Noel has wrote from sad song to sail away and you will be mind blown and believe in miracles or you can carry on listening to the heart and soul of kurstin and Wyatt and whatever his four other songwriters are called. Noel Gallagher was once a good songwriter (with early Oasis). And Liam was a good rock n roll singer with attitude (early Oasis). Both lost their way. Liam could never write songs but was always a good lead vocalist...and Noel was always a rhythm guitarist who can pen a tune. He's not wrote a decent song since quitting Oasis & Liam needs decent songs to sing...as neither of them are The Smiths...or Paul Weller...And definitely not in the league of The Whoor Stones or Kinks...or the great Lennon & McCartney.
The Goonies really is a kids film no matter what Matt says, and Noel would have been 19 or 20 when it came out, I've never seen Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings which nobody can believe but to me their kids films (I was in my 20's when they came out)
Noel has this confused with the game Frustration. Not connect four at all. I tried to play with him once. We were the support band and he said we "didn't have enough money to play high stake games"
Which is why they weren't as good with Andy and Gem despite them being better musicians, Gem always used weak distortion pedals and Bonehead plugged straight into a Marshall which was hugely important to their sound, Zak Starkey is a great drummer but he didn't fit Oasis AT ALL, watch Tony McCarroll playing Bring It On Down at Gleneagles and watch Zak Starkey playing it, Zak doesn't even hit the cymbal with each chord change which is massively important to the impact of the chorus, it's honestly like he's playing a different song
@@ravenr1420 nah, even Noel agrees with that, timing is always very important, if they had come out 3 years earlier when everyone in the UK was a 'Nirvanahead' they wouldn't have had an impact, Noel said that himself in an interview, timing really really is important, the fact Oasis had their first release with songs of optimism the month Kurt killed himself was very important if you ask me
The worst thing that can happen to a working class band is when they become civilised and successful. The hunger and desperation and hope in Definitely Maybe drives the absolute genius of that album. What’s the story had moments but it was already the start of the end. Definitely maybe the greatest British album of all time and the greatest debut album ever made
That's mostly a matter of opinion, I think he sounded great up until around 2002 when he had his dental surgery and Hashimoto's started kicking in, then he got much more hoarse with less range and kermit-the-frog tone.
90s was his best as was the band it end up sounding ropey and rough because of the booze cigarettes and gear, he also may have changed his style a bit thinking it sounded better but has now realised it was awful added to that he don’t drink and smoke as much now, being older he’s calmed down a lot.
Agreed, though his peak started in 1993. His best year was absolutely 1995 though, he was most consistent then with very few voice cracks and bad nights.
I googled 'Oasis Connect 4' before he remembered it was 'Frustration', it still appears in the images though eh. I think Frustration should have just had a picture of Noel and Liam on it :D
its always a backhanded compliment with noel. there are many things he could've said about his voice but chose to say it was HIS songs that made him a great singer when it was more like he wasnt singing in a key that showcase his singing abilities and didnt find his voice yet but noel has to make it about himself smh. tony mccaroll even said in his book that he could never bring himself to compliment liam
The level of cheerful, patronising spite coming from Noel's direction aimed at his kid brother makes me think that he's either always resented him and is a bit of a egotistical prick, or Liam did something so bad to Noel once (possibly in 2009) that we don't know about, Liam deserves all he gets. What that might be to attract this level of shade for over a decade, short of Liam trying to shove a pair of shakers up Noel's arse one night, I can't imagine. I don't think anyone can. It's just such a pity.
I think you’re overstating it a bit. They both can’t stand each other, who’s fault that is neither one of theirs entirely or for the most part. I don’t think Liam’ constant shit talk on Twitter and in every interview he’s done since laughing his ‘solo’ career has helped.

@OASISBROTHER I actually don't know how liam hasn't gone through songs like Alice, Colour my life etc. and rewrote and rereleased some of them with his solo career. The songs are in a low key so he could handle the pretty good. Noel did it with Lock all the doors so it should be possible!
Yup, bonehead is pretty much what held the band together and gave oasis the sound. He is the one that made all those rhythm parts Noel could write a couple of riffs or some acoustic G, C, A, D progression but his knowledge of the guitar was lacking he said himself he didn't even know the chords he was playing.
Absolutely agree with Bonehead being fundamental to the best of Oasis. I wouldn't go so far as agreeing Noel's early sons were appalling; they definitely were not on the same level after the boneheadmeister had injected his sublime magic but I personally don't think Noel's early stuff was bad enough that I'd consider it appalling. However, I am just a nobody who's opinion is no more valid than anyone elses obviously, so I really genuinely do not mean any disrespect. Nor do I believe I am "right". I subscribe to the notion of music being entirely subjective - furthermore - It's good and healthy to read differing opinions. Who wants a world where we all think and feel the same way?! There’s always one. Every band that made it big has that early drummer or bass player who’s position in the band never really solidified, and the second the band makes it big after their departure, the jealousy and bitching starts. Probably does confirm Tony’s account, but he’s so irrelevant.. Honestly, who gives a toss. Him and Noel didn’t get on for whatever reason. The band needed someone with a more authoritative stance, god knows Liam wasn’t going to sit and write songs, work with the producer in the studio, do interviews etc. I think it rubbed Tony the wrong way eventually.
@@sionowen3783 I agree, two sides to every story. For the last 10-15 years I've gone with Noel's side, until I saw him callously refuse to reconcile with his bro for over a decade. Then I started looking a bit deeper, and read Tony's book. It's probably not 100% true, and obviously he's bitter, but Noel did seem like an asshole in many interviews I've seen, and Tony's book gives a behind the scenes - no fucks given account.

I think (this might be wrong) I heard or read somewhere yesterday that he's going to do one more album and then give up. I was so sad to hear that I'm still processing it. His voice is an indelible part of my life. I can't imagine the world without it.
