Having acted in a couple plays and being married to a drama major, this play is so rich with subtleties that many would not understand had they not been techies or actors. This remains one of my favorite films. Now, where is thy valium?
When I first saw this movie, i didn't get it and was bored out of my mind. However, about 6 months later, I told myself I need to watch it again if only because I liked a good deal of the cast and realized I may have been distracted the first time. Needless to say, about 10 views later, I can't make it through 5 mins of the movie without laughing my a** off. Not just little laughs but loud belly laughs. The things going on in the background are just as funny as the stuff going on in the foreground. In particular, one of the "scenes" thar takes place backstage with the ax, the tied shoes, the whiskey, the cactus.....i laughed so hard I almost pulled something. They don't make movies that do that anymore.
