Remembering my days of modding oldrim back in 2012 and tweaking things because of ctds after just adding 50-100 mods, Nolvus V5 still amazes me when i realize how stable this is and with over 2000 mods. I just cant believe how far the game has come.
For awhile Nolvus has been my #1 Skyrim mod list. Ive tried most of the top wabbajack list but I always come back to Nolvus. I look forward to V6 with northern roads and many other new mods.
Nice showcase. One thing that I think doesn't get mentioned much is how Nolvus doesn't use Wabbajack but has its own installer. I've been playing Nolvus since V4 first came out I think and the installer has improved a lot since the first time I downloaded it. No offense to Wabbajack but in my view the Nolvus installer is much easier and more user friendly.
I have been playing on and off for ages. Those that have AMD cards - enable Fluid Motion Frames and get a few (20 fps in my case with a 6800xt) more fps. I also went out and got Puredarks FSR 3.0 - just a constant 100 fps, with some dips into the 70s
I have watched several of his videos, like the remaking the sound of Skyrim. I love his passion for the game, similar to yours. Looking forward to seeing everything new that he brings to the game. On a side note, Wunduniik v3 dropped today, so I am installing that now to try out.
I love Nolvus for the graphic that's is why I always watch most of Nolvus videos but I never played it because I'm sold to requiem +3tweaks +Ftweaks, so with V6 I will be finally able to play Nolvus the way I want.
wich enb is this? my nolvus looks all blurry and red-ish. at nighttime i cant see anything. i tweaked the enb but i had no clue what i was doing and now i can see but the colors looks off
Nolvus V6 I am hoping for something to replace TK Dodge RE and remove a lot of the immersion breaking mods. I am hoping for something to also make the scaling better in "hardcore mode" or make the game literally harder. I know it's a power fantasy but we should have the option for more tweaks. The only viable solution now is to set to Master/Legendary difficulty with hardcore settings during install. I also thing some tweaks need to be made to the gameplay such as removing simplest horses (causes crashes mid game), removing some ridiculous game breaking animations that make you invincible(You can do it manually), removing the projectile mod that makes arrows move slower than a turtle, changing the HUD entirely(can be done), adding Wheeler/dmenu and Skyrim Souls RE as an optional difficulty feature. One last thing I can recommend is a mod that tweaks the unique treasures of Skyrim such as Zim's Artifacts or Reliquary of Myth. With it being a kitchen sink sandbox, I think it wouldn't hurt to add a spell customizer in the list to see what possibilities you could create. Simple Obvious Spell Crafting is a really cool mod and should be considered. I love power fantasy mod lists, and I still think Nolvus is the best in the business right now for a combination of deadly combat and spellcasting.
I’m hoping for more storyline mods. Playing through Vigilant was an unforgettable experience with nolvus graphics, so it would be cool to experience something like that again. I also wish that it was better optimized, for those without a 30/ 40 series gpu. My 2080ti shits the bed when walking around whiterun
Are sword on back mods still a thing? I remember back in the days especially with the LE like every second modding video had one handed swords on the back. But I havent seen this with any modlist so far. Has this idea died out? Is it just by coincidence that many mod list authors dont like it? Is it hard to put up? I remember back then it was a pain. All mods which had dual wield, sword on back, shield on back and so on were a bit more effort than the usual install and be done with it mod
No, it hasn't died out. I use it all the time. In Nolvus and a lot of other modpacks you just have to switch the sword from the default to the back using XPMSSE and Immersive equipment (or whatever comparable mods are in the list). I think the modlist showcases you are seeing are just using the default.
The update had better be good because last I checked, the list was being held together by glue, duct tape, and the upscaler. It's also missing a lot of essential mods, including Open Animation Replacer, Console Plus Plus, and Crafting Categories for SkyUI. More mods are outdated, and I don't mean they need updates. Nolvus could do with swapping out a few mods with others that are less bloated. Stability should be more of a concern for the devs of this list. If your game is crashing three times a day, your list has a serious problem.
I'm having tons of fun with V5 but as far as V6 goes, honestly i miss Requiem So for my next playthrough i'm hoping you will keep that sweet looking Lorerim in shape instead of waiting for Nolvus V6 ;)
@@jpook730 You mean Lorerim I presume since Nolvus does have LOTD. I plan on downloading Lorerim in the near future, Biggie has done a great job with it from what I can see. The only thing holding me back so far is that I would like to see more quest mods whether it is LOTD or whatever. I've been playing Skyrim since the day it was released and modlists with new content, improved combat and impressive visuals are what keeps me interested. Lorerim nails it on two of those three already.
I think the biggest problem I have in Nolvus V5 is the boring combat compared to Lorerim and Ultima. The sword animations are too fast, there’s no dodge mechanic by default, the parry system isn’t as cool. The bodies even after installing 3BA and SMP and some Bodyslide presets look kinda weird. The hands, shoulders and crouching/crouch walking animations compared to Ultima look really odd. Ultima has my favorite mod list body look, the optimization is just dogshit and it barely runs. I really hope V6 kinda takes the best from all these different modlists and has a bit more performance and smooth installation. I’m also looking forward to your graphics only mod list so I can try tweaking my own things without having to worry about all the environmental visuals/ENBs
@@biggie_boss Oh bet, I couldn't find it but it looks like there was a bug and it wasn't showing in the MCM. Went back in today and it was there. Weird. Either way your graphics only modlist is what I am most excited for. Any ETA on it?
currently saving up for an rtx 5090 hoping it will be released around the Nolvus 6 launch - could be a great fall/winter season. unsure about cpu at this stage and monitor to max performance out for the next years…
The difference Between V5 and V6 is it looks like they added Ray Tracing. Which dramatically improved graphics with the added reflective surfaces and lighting changes.
"Ray Tracing" isn't really ray tracing, also it's present in V5 and active here. It's RTGI which is ReSahde's "ray traced global illumination" and very different from real ray tracing which isn't possible in Skyrim.
The dream skyrim mod/list would be where you could go out clear a camp or a settlement and then take it over. You could increase its size add buildings, farms, manage woodland and protect it from raids. Maybe a camp gets taken over by others and expanded the next time you visit. After a while just constantly having to fight everything that comes along the path gets a bit dull in skyrim. The maps are just too small for all the enemy and animal encounters that are everywhere in many of the mod lists. Its the world of skyrim thats more interesting than the combat.
Me personally I don't want the wenches to go I think it would be cool if he's going to do different versions. If you would also do a skimpier version so far I've really enjoyed novus and the way it is I've just wanted to make it. Skimpier
No modlist is allowed to be behind a paywall. Individual mods on Patreon yes. As far a nexus premium; you don't need it. But, you will have to manually download every mod which is a pretty standard way of doing it.
You definitely want nexus premium. V5 was about 350GB so unless you want to spend a week manually installing 2000+ mod files I suggest forking out the 7$ and let it automatically pull and download from nexus at uncapped speeds. It only took me about 1 hour on 500mb internet. No mod on nexus is locked behind a paywall unless you want to donate. And yea having the latest version of the game is pretty standard. Unless you want those weird simp sex mods that are a decade old and crash your game every 15 minutes. Other than that there's no reason to not have AE. As dumb as it is most all mods are for AE now. We are all still pretty salty about that one lol.
