Non-CDL Hotshot Rookie Gross $20,000+ In 3.5 Weeks | Complete Breakdown All Expenses (Real Numbers)
What is up you guys! Here is the video many of you have been waiting for! In this video, I breakdown all my expenses and show what I made in my first 3.5 weeks on the road as a leased on non-cdl hotshot driver. Keep in mind this is just my first month and I took out some expenses that I chose to reserve but not necessarily a must.

People loves to come online, watch videos, and nitpick the hell out of it not realizing that you didn’t have to share a damn thing. The fact that you did share your experiences is a blessing we should look at what you shared and take everything that we can from that video to try to help our situation. Stop spending so much time trying to nitpick and hate on people this is why your ass is watching videos opposed to making money. This brother shared some serious information that I didn’t know and it’s really served me well he is helping many people make informed decisions based on his good experience and his bad experiences. In the military we called it lesson learned so that you don’t continue to make the same mistakes.

Not wanting to throw water on your spreadsheet, but you calculations are not correct. I haven't seen any other videos that you have done and therefore this issue may be corrected. You can use your spreadsheet to calculate the correct RPM by taking the actual amount you received by the miles driven. The total must also be calculated by the total amount you received by the total miles driven. It appears that your actual total average RPM is around $1.75 based on the first three weeks.

Looks like your doing good, one thing I recommend, you might want to invest in small cooler to carry some lunch meat, fruit, stuff like that, another thing you may want to consider is to schedule short hauls when you have to deadhead to your next pickup, to make up the difference, instead of just deadheading if possible you might want to hire your wife to find your loads and set them up and dispatch you, once you get your own authority, if that's your goal, this could put more money in your pocket, because the 30 percent is a little steep, you got your rig and trailer, your doing about 100% of the work, this way you could cut the rate of the company your leased to, but you will be responsible for your own insurance and fuel, you can apply for your own fuel card, your own maintenance, something to think about, you can still be dispatched from your current employer but as an owner operator, your DOT number and still stay busy

I think 200-250 a week for truck/trailer is a good amount. Like your said you still have your warranty so having that extra money set aside for any emergency is just smart business. What I would also do is either take a salary and put the rest back into the business or take a percentage out and put it back into the business. After a year or 2 you could possibly get a 2nd truck going and hire another driver. Do that a few times and you could have your own trucking company with a fleet of trucks and drivers. I don’t know what your plans are but just looking at how detailed your sheets are I would guess your a smart person. What we have learned from this pandemic is people like staying home and having their shit brought to them. I think people are going to shop online more and more so the trucking industry is going to see a real boom.

I've been considering getting into the hotshot trucking. I'm curious as to your thoughts on buying vs leasing a truck. According to another youtuber, Tow Piglet, he suggests leasing through Enterprise. He says that with leasing, you can basically get a new truck every 60,000 miles and you don't have to worry so much about repairs. Just wondering your thoughts on the subject.

Don't waste your time if you have a cdl. The accelerated maintenance/repairs and depreciation on pickup trucks just ain't worth it when it's said n done. Cheaper and more profitable long term to save up a down-payment for a semi. Been there done that lol

As a self described data guy I’d recommend changing your 70% rpm calculation to be the 70% rate / mileage. This figure shown in the first week doesn’t tell you much because of the inflated rate for the short oversized load.

Then you got to put out for your own medical insurance and everything else, you guys are playing saying oh you can make $20,000 a month doing hot shot when really your net take-home is maybe a little bit more than if you just drove a truck for somebody else with benefits. Why is it that these people never ever ever tell you what broker they are using? I am new, trying to get into Hot Shot loads and I have no idea where to obtain the loads, do I look for a broker? A dispatcher? a load board? Can someone please name a company that allows you to use their Authority and take a cut? It will at least point me in the right direction and then I know what I am looking for. I have spent days watching videos' from people like this and not one of them ever tells you where they are getting their rides. Anyone got any ideas? These video's, "hey everyone I just wanted to show you my stats if your just getting into it to help you". What the really means is "Hey everyone, I'm gonna flex as I am doing good and I want you all to know". If that wasn't the case these people would actually help us and tell us where to go to get NON CDL Hotshot loads.

It seems like you’re hoping for everything to be handed to you. The best advice I can give is to continue doing your research-Google is a powerful tool. There are many great content creators out there sharing valuable information, but expecting to get all the details to start a trucking business from just one or two videos isn’t realistic. Take the time to familiarize yourself with FMCSA regulations and the steps needed to get started. It’s a process, but with persistence, you’ll find the information you need.
