Adam. If you are on the freeway and a truck jackknifes, you are stuck with nowhere to go. Happened to me and I was stuck on a freeway overnight, in a snowstorm, and the car ran out of gas. Please listen to everyone and go get a coat, hat, gloves from Walmart. Put them in the back just so they’re there if you need them.
Heck it, might as well hunker down in a decent town and make videos there during weather breaks. Good opportunity to turn lemons into sweet tangy juice.
I live in Oklahoma and have been watching all this on the news and Facebook. Since the the artic storm has started and the second storm. This minus below freezing weather is crazy. A lot are fearing a global warming or artic apocalypse more less. Seems to me Elsa and Jack Frost are at war these days.🥶🌬🌨☃️❄❄
Stressed? We live this like this for 4-5 months every year in the midwest. Most of us dont have fancy 4 wheel drive or snow tires either, we just learn how to adapt.
Glad Adam is teaching people what NOT to do in the middle of Winter when planning a cross country trip. Don’t take a road trip without checking the weather conditions first. Don’t drive through sub zero conditions with just a hoodie. These videos are very informative on what NOT to do.
Now currently in San Antonio ,the snow is gone, the sun is out and it’s a beautiful day. Been like that since yesterday. We would have never known the weather was trying to kill us just a few days ago. But That’s San Antonio weather for you🤠 6:07 Where I grew up🥰
Had to pause this video several times and breathe into a paper bag!!! I live in south Texas and I’m calling this the Texas storm of the century. Be safe my friend 👍
I'd feel bad but you guys should really have planned for this a power grid that isn't prepared for a winter blast is silly if you own a house buy a generator for power
@Andrea Wylie sure beats a 10k electric bill you don't need a massive generator even if you only use it when you lose power or a storm hits it pays for it's self
Adam I passed the penske truck pulling the Volkswagen beetle last night. Right at the I10 and I75 junction here in fla I knew it was him cause of the plastic wrap flapping around the windows on the beetle.
He's presenting something in a war correspondent type of story, isn't he? "We take you there!" It's interesting stuff. We'd have snow occasionally back when I lived in Louisiana but nothing like this.
You are documenting a very historic moment in weather history for the south. Please stay safe and I can't wait for you to arrive in the warm weather of Florida!
Every time you say “whoooo”...I feel you. I was on the roads Valentine’s Day from 1:30-6pm and I’ve never felt a bigger since of dread. I had very little control of my vehicles, even just inching along.
Watching this I imagine that Adam's determination is being fueled by us viewers... His passion to bring us content.. And pushing forward to FL because there is nothing left right now in CA to document.. I commend him for what he is doing and I wish him well... Keep going Adam...
Advice from a canadian(we get the worst winter in our province) drive like an old lady. As soon as the first snowfall, just drive like an old lady, relax, BE PATIENT, and remember its going to take longer to get to where youre going. :) :)
Problem is, impatience is an epidemic, and if we ourselves are patience and drive safe but others around us are driving unsafe, it don’t avail us much. lol
I’m a Norwegian 🇳🇴And I also know all about these conditions during the winter ❄️I agree with what you’re saying here Zachery P. It’s also important to have the right tires on your car (and a good car)👍🏼
Not to tell you what to do, but it might be a good idea to have a winter coat and gloves and a winter ❄️ cap. You never know when you will be stuck in winter conditions. Plus, I bet you aren’t used to winter weather like this. Have a great day buddy.
@@tallentstravels5727 Of all the silly things for you to get offended at in the comments, you choose this benign comment that the guy said in a very non-offensive manner. Grow up.
I was raised in SoCal and then married an Alaskan I lived in Alaska for over 20 years. I have since moved, but still hate the ice and snow white knuckle driving. This video is bringing back memories. What a crazy adventure! Be safe, Adam.
@@garyfrancis6193 be safe also means be alert. I had my share of near misses driving in Alaska. It’s crazy how quickly you can lose control of a car in bad weather.
I live in PA and this is another day to us but we never stop to think about all the resources we have everyday for winter and keeping the roads clear. We kinda take it for granted here. Prayers for those folks in Tx and warmer states that don't have those types of resources and those who don't have power and certainly famiies that have lost loved ones because of it.
Same here,,Pa resident and this looks like a below averaga snow day for us! I remember snow up to my knees almost on MANY winter days. School WASN'T cancelled. People KNEW how to drive in it. Etc etc. Now,,,2-3 inches of snow and people lose their minds! Smh.....
Im in Austin and finally got power last night. Inside my apartment it was around 45 degrees for a couple days. ALso, my pipe burst yesterday and had to be turned off. My carpet is soaking wet and can't be given an ETA of when this will be fixed due to all this chaos. We just arent equipped for this.
I have been in there. Ice is the worst to drive in. I live in NY and one time it took me three hours to get home. That ride usually take 25 minutes. I hate ice. I would drive in snow all day. Ice hell no!!!! God bless and be safe...
I had two former girlfriends who had never seen snow in real life so an inch of snow was cause for extreme excitement. They had to run outside to actually experience a snowfall. Strangely southerners don’t associate cold with snow so they are surprised at how cold it is. Well yeah? It’s frozen rain. One now lives in northern Sweden which gets a little more than an inch of snow per winter. Adam’s reaction to snow is like watching your cat or dog’s first reaction to snow, “What the h*** is this?”
What’s sad is when people send their dogs out in it. Their poor little paws can’t handle it for long. Same with the extreme heat here. The pavement will burn their paws.
Unfortunately, I had a feeling that this was going to happen. I hope you are closer to Florida by now because we have another winter storm coming in tonight and Thursday.
I didn't realize you were also towing a trailer. God Speed my friend, but if I were you I would hunker down for a couple days and wait this out. Do some vlogs on the hotel and surrounding area perhaps. Stay safe Adam
WI girl here again.... why are you driving in that?!!??! Please stop scaring us. I wouldn't even drive in all of that. Snow is annoying but ice is just dangerous. We love you. Please stay safe.
As a long term viewer of your videos Adam I remember a video of you in a buck-ees store and there was a insident with your flip flop having some sort of poop on it so many memories great video as always got to love a road trip no one does them better than you Adam stay safe out there
I remember that! But hadn't thought of it in so long, I was remembering it w/Dan Bell or the Carpetbagger instead of Adam. They all do have some pretty bizarre store episodes.
All these years, and all the things Adam has done, I’ve never seen him so flustered. Winter driving isn’t fun, but you get use to it. Nice to see a Stuckey’s that was a big part of our Florida road trips when I was a kid.
Native midwesterner here: if I see roads like that, I typically call it and head back. Even with our salt trucks and plows it's really not worth the risk - I've had too many close calls. Stay safe Adam.
Watching this is stressing me out but also fascinating to watch. I live in New England and would rather drive in 2 feet of snow then an inch of ice. Bridges and ramps (not just overpasses) freeze first. I think you have a few more days of "white knuckle" driving.
I always get worried when I’m winter driving and see a car with a Texas plate. Sure would be stressful to be surrounded by them in those conditions lol
Been following your adventures for nearly the past 10 years. This was the most REAL and hectic adventure I've ever seen you in! Scary. Please keep safe!
Next time you're in Boerne check out the library, new and old courthouses, historic jail, town square, nature park, and much more. It's one of the fastest growing towns in the United States. The population is up to 18K or so from 10K a few yrs ago. Everyone wants out of San Antonio to live here, which means expensive home prices.
Adam..... this might be the most riveting cross country trip yet. Great that you are getting to document a once-in-a-lifetime storm. A trip you can tell people about for years to come. Enjoying it. Second best videos behind the bike and slide incident.
OMG Adam that was something else.... I drove thru Texas 20 yrs ago in decent weather and it took me 2 days.... I grew up in New England and seeing that snow brings me back to my shoveling life.... Glad you made it thru all that....I hope those people in Texas get some relief from this situation soon.... as always - be well !
"Morning everyone, Adam the Woo here. Today's adventure is about being stuck in the snow, so that's gonna do it for today, the vlog is over, give it a big thumbs up!" 😄
Such a scary feeling being stuck and helpless, thank God for good samaritans and helpful thoughtful strangers. Lol at all the Bucees snacks you purchased! Almost at the home stretch ... Stay warm, stay safe!
I can not believe how crazy your trip is! Living in Chicago I could not understand what the big deal about a storm was for other states, but you really opened my eyes to how scary it was for Texas! Thanks for sharing your journey!
Another worried fan Adam, last night I was waiting for your next Vlog to see that you were OK. Proud of you brother, well managed. You tube can we get some hazard pay for Adam ?
Any reason why he chose to travel via texas knowing a bad winter storm was coming? I live in North Carolina and we knew the storm was coming days before..🤷 just curious
Glad to see you are taking your time. Wishing you safe travels. I've done the Florida to California road trip before and it's a doozy without snow! Can't even imagine... loving these videos!!!
We’ve been stressed living in this winter storm that’s taken over Texas. I can’t imagine driving in it. We can’t even get out of the driveway, so I have an excuse to stay home. We’ve been one of lucky ones and haven’t lost electricity or gas during this insanity. Be safe Adam!!
@@Amariellah they’re going to neighbors, sleeping in their cars, using their gas stoves, or fireplaces if they have them. One family started their car in the garage and 2 of them are dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. Our state had been warned that we weren’t prepared, but they did nothing. We’ve been lucky and haven’t lost our electricity even though some in our area have. It’s very scary when the temp is in the teens and there’s no way to stay warm.
Another nail biting episode. Man brother, of all the road trips you’ve ever taken, this one is another nail bitter. Literally on the edge of my seat! Please be safe.
Please Adam get some warm clothes to wear and get some chains around your tires the storm isn't gonna go away as fast as you think. Stay safe I know you dont normally deal with the Winter we deal with up in the North East.
We watch you all the time, but this is crazy, please be careful. We are watching with our hearts in our throats. We have so much anxiety with you driving in these conditions, I can’t imagine what you are going through. We know you like to travel but this is no fun. Also my husband can’t wait to try Bucees’, we live near Ocala and one of them is opening in Daytona, as soon as they open we’ll be there and getting our own haul. We can’t wait until you enter the Florida border, please be careful, Veronica and Todd
Yeah the northeast has the trucks and salt on hand to tackle it. This is a once in a lifetime storm. Bergen county NJ which is one small county has more salt and Sanders on hand then all of Texas or Georgia. This is an absolute freak storm for the south
Not exactly a fair comparison. The north has many, many plows and salters, snow tires and anti-freeze in their cars, insulation in their homes, thicker water pipes and power lines to withstand the weight of ice and snow. The south has little to none of this stuff.
For real. Minnesota is -25 right now and the snow and ice will stay on the road for 8 months lol. Just get away from the over cautious people, they cause accidents.
Hey Adam, we've been watching your trip every morning... found a way to watch while we were without power for 39 hours here in San Antonio. Glad to see you get going, make it through San Antonio, and find your way to Buc-ees! That's definitely a stop on our road trips!! Safe travels to FL.
My heart goes out to everyone affected in the South by this weather but here in the Northeast, we're bracing for our eighth storm of 8+ inches of snow this season.
At least we can handle it. With fleets of snow plows, salt, and sand. Not so much, in states that don't get our type of winters normally. Not looking forward to another storm either way, and spring can't come fast enough for me.
You are as calm as a cucumber. I would be a nervous wreck. Another great video as always even in terrible conditions. Be praying for you to get home safe!!
Neutral is your best friend in icy situations. I'm from Michigan, the snow didn't look bad, but I'm use to it, they aren't, but ice!!! I hate ice, but we at least have salt. Hopefully they will now! Hope it gets better down there!
I am enjoying (seems like not quite the right word) your perspective on the weather in Texas. It’s a point of view only you could provide. Glad you’re staying safe. :)
Hey Adam! My dad was Johnny Dee from Johnny Dee & the Rocket 88s. He wrote a “Don’t Mess with Texas” theme song and helped popularize the slogan in 1986! They filmed the video in Corpus Christi. Really cool how You pointed that out! Take Care!
Im in Lubbock and we are still getting snow so there is another round headed your way. There are rolling blackouts and people have not had power or water for 48 hours +. Stay safe out there.
Did you know the weather conditions before you left? This seems like a bad idea. (Staying in CA for another week or two wouldn’t of hurt, its not like you have to go to work)
I live here in San Antonio. We saw the temperatures ahead of time but none of us knew it was going to be this bad. Aside we have to boil our water and grocery stores selves being empty ,we good🙏🏻
So glad you are ok after that. Every morning we wake up we check to see if you added a new video because we love seeing them. With this crazy storm, we are extra happy to see you post a video just so we all know you are ok.
