Şimdi vay be küçüklük dönemi hayal gücü diyip gülsemde😂 Bu sayede hayatınds kitap okumayan biri okuma alışkanlığı sağladı Bu olmasa belkide kim bilir hala hiç okumayan cahil biri olarak kalacaktım. Tuhaf evet:). Kitabın yazarı Halil yaşar kollu Kitabı heyet:) 1. Ve 2. Kitabı idi Demek neymiş bazen gülünç kitaplar dediğimiz şeyler insanların hayatını baya değiştirebiliyormuş:) Bu arada şunu belirtiyim o dönem bu ihtiyarlsr heyetine inanan kesim çok fazla idi Türkiyede zira dizilerde filmlerde hep çıkarılıyordu . Hala kısmen inanan var veya ümit eden. O kitap'ta baskı rekoru kırmıştı😁

One book that really changed how I think about changing people’s minds and deeply held beliefs is ‘Mistakes were made (but not by me)’! It’s a great look at cognitive dissonance and made a huge impact on me as a 16 year old when I read it. It’s been nearly 14 years since then but I still think about that book!

if you liked the concept of law you NEED to read Ronald Dworkin's masterpiece he wrote before he died "Justice for Hedgehogs". it is his complete worldview and theory of truth, ethics, interpretation that unlocks a unity of value theory that aims to find truth in every other field including politics, politics philosophy, ethics, law, morality etc

@@IdeasInHat thanks for the reply! Have been binging all your videos. Cannot recommend the book enough, it ironically somewhat killed my motivation to read more philosophy/political philosophy as it essentially convinced me of his entire worldview and mode of reasoning. But I know I need to be more skeptical and keep reading !

Leonardo Da Vinci by Walter Isaacson is definitely a solid recommendation. Leonardo lead such an amazing life dedicating himself to the pursuit of knowledge and improvement.

And at the same time he was flawed! Which is the real reason why I love Isaacson books. He gives the good and the bad. Such a good book, and Lenardo was soo interesting!

My life was impacted hugely by 'Man, Economy and the State' by Murray Rothbard. I have some criticisms of the book and his entire political philosophy, but it is just a great exposition how you can derive macroeconomic behaviour from microeconomic considerations.

Hello! Loved your analysis, I happened to read the Einstein biography by Isaacson, and I came to a different conclusion about Einstein. While it is true that his light thought experiment was heavily influenced by another German scientist, Isaacson's repeated example's of Einstein's thought experiments throughout the book really reinforced the idea to me that he was superhuman in this regard, and would not have been as wildly influential as he was without it. I think better examples to try to humanize Einstein would be his relationships with his partners and close family, which always seemed to be a mess!

Do you ever read multiple books at the same time? I often will read a more difficult history book, for example right now I am reading a biography monograph on Agrippina the Younger, but when I feel like switching to something more relaxing or “enjoyable” ill pick up a work of fiction I know I like, for example right now I am also re-reading 1984. In this case 1984 kind of acts as a means to get over social media addiction. When I have had enough of Agrippina, instead of scrolling through my phone, I find it just as comforting to relax with a piece of enjoyable fiction. Thats the only way I would read two at a time, what about you?
@IdeasInHat
@IdeasInHat Год назад
Sometimes, yes. I like biographies as well, those are easy to read, usually. Or memoirs. Fiction is a good pick, I sometimes do that as well. I find I flip between absolute focus on one book to reading two or three books. Have you read Carl Newports book on digital mininalism? I have heard good things. Might be worthwhile for you.

Iain McGilchrist's "The Master and His Emissary: The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World " and Jonathan Haidt's "The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion". Regardless of how convincing you find McGilchrist's ideas on how hemispheric differences have shaped history, it can be used in a purely practical way, adopting multiple viewpoints through which to make sense of the world. Initially found the somewhat cheesy pop psychology tone of Haidt's book off putting, however it's a serious book which profoundly altered my politics.

When you do book reviews you need to state clearly the titles of the book as well as the author. You may then proceed with your review of the said book.

Not:Japonları severim Sakura ağaçları o pembe yapraklarını dökmesin Ve imparator meiji mezarında ters dönmesin😔.
