I would like to see how it works in certain weather conditions.. Mainly rain if the sensors still picks it up. Also in snow, where the sensors not cover, but it is snowing out pretty well. So far, I have only seen these type of devices on a clear day or night. When you test it, simulate rain with a hose or a sprinkler and see if it picks it up.

That's pretty nifty, we have these in my area, do the passive sprays/covers work at all? Also you've gotta tell me about this "testing" story lol

+Tyler Watthanaphand I haven't tested the sprays, but apparently they don't work. The covers I haven't tested either, but I've heard some may help against some lidar guns, ALPR cameras, or RLC's. I prefer something that doesn't cover the plate or isn't wildly obvious that something is off when you look at it. :) The ticket info you can read all about here: www.rdforum.org/showthread.php?t=30916 They figured out what the timing issue was after this test and while I haven't retested the camera since, I plan on seeing how this new version fares at some point against the camera.

Goodnight. My name is Fernando and I am from Argentina. Here the cameras work with a button (a large square) that they put on the ground (under the asphalt), and only the camera takes the picture when the vehicle presses that button. Can you advise me on what I can buy or manufacture to avoid fines during daylight? At night there is no problem because they do not have light and that is why they do not take photos, but what I need is for the day? If it could be something with IR lighting it would be better, and if not something with white led light, or some inhibitor that works permanently to be able to generate waves / jumps to the image? I hope you can help me ... Thank you very much really ...

+Ayerimos Fox Nope. We don't have Ku in use here in the States, I don't have a Ku gun, and many detectors don't even offer Ku detection since it isn't necessary.

Does this work against photoradar that uses IR light instead of a common flash or that acquires the image of your vehicle from a video still capture ?

Ohh sorry, I didn't realize this comment was on a noPhoto video. I was thinking it was on a RD video for some reason. The noPhoto does work against IR based flashes. www.nophoto.com/pages/education#section11 It won't work against any systems that pull your license plate from a video, however. Usually though, you've got high res photos to read the plate and low res video which complements the photos to show the overall event.

+Vortex Radar I've seen some as well but I don't have the income to buy and review 10 of them. I seen some really nice ones but reviews on most are mixed which makes it hard to pick one. I'm pretty sure 70 % of them are prob user error

$400 for a slave strobe in a plastic box, you didn't even use a weatherpak connector to waterproof the electrical connection!

it will not work cause now they take 3 pictures and record a video , so if u want to waist money then yeah go ahead. Better to buy Radar Detector it will be more usefull !!!

Thats not going to work with the cameras that use video backup of the infraction.

+stlouisx50 Last I heard there's no systems that use the video camera to issue the actual tickets. They use the high res still photos for that and to read the plates and the low res video is there as backup.

+stlouisx50 I'm certainly no expert on these and can't tell you the nuances for every law in every area against every RLC ever created. :) Specific questions should probably be deferred to noLimits themselves since they're the ones who've been doing all the research on the different types of systems. www.rdforum.org/showthread.php?t=36171 That said, that was one of the many questions when the first gen unit came out a year ago and that was the answer. Have things changed since then? Maybe. Maybe not. Again I have no idea. I don't follow this stuff closely.

+Vortex Radar No, you answered enough. When flashing devices for plates first came out, people were saying the video of the infraction still got them. But after reviewing ATS's crash videos , your right, they are so grainy there is no way the video itself would get ya. Thanks!

stlouisx50 Yeah the video that I got as part of the ticket was a whopping 320x240 with a wide angle lens, haha. Definitely nothing that you could read a plate from. Perhaps they had a super high res version for themselves and sent me a really low res version? I don't know and things always change and evolve, so it's always hard to say definitively when you simply don't know. ;)

I can see this working with a "flash" camera, but what about traffic cams that are video, meaning no flash. The pay some schmuck to sit at a computer and review traffic videos and if you don't come to a complete stop while turning right on a red, they zoom in on your license plate and send you a ticket in the mail. Pitiful

Sorry...not true. This youtube does not address a traffic cam, middle of the day, no flash involved infrared or otherwise. They simple took a still shot of a video and zoomed in on my license plate. Also this vid states they cannot issue a ticket from a video...wrong. Chrystal clear. I'm assuming this product will not work under these circumstances. Thanks for responding so quickly to my questions.

My friend got the first gen and it sucks. Just like you it didnt work at all. It extremely over priced. If they went for volume, i can see them selling more of this unit. $100 sound about right If this version actually works. So far after getting my Escort Max (3 years ago now have the 360), i haven't seen a RLC ticket in the mail. Obvious you are going to have the idiots that are going to come on here and say just don't break the law, but we all know this is just a $$$$ grab for the Goverment, not for Safety like they try to sell the public, It been proven that RLC cause more accidents from people trying to avoid getting a ticket for passing the light by .03 seconds. I would love to see you test this and if at all possible several times and with speed/RLC, Maybe speak to NO Photo and see if they can work on there prices as well as make sure they cover your expenses if it doesn't work.

+Vortex Radar If this thing really works when you test and they come out with a reasonable price, i think they will sell more then at the price point it at now. I'm sure they will sell more at $100-$175 Vs $400. I think they will have a tough time selling it to the people that got ripped off with there first gen version my friend included. Also this would only be good for when you go out of town since you wont know where the RLC/SC are located (unless you are using Waze or an RD like escorts max ect). Waiting for the results of you testing lol. Hope they come in soon. Maybe you can just test it with a real camera for now and see how it works.
