This is so sad. Pioneer of the RD and the directional arrows. 73 is relatively young by today’s standards. So sad and my condolences to his family. You’re fortunate to have spoke to the legend and pioneer of the industry before he passed. So sad though.
Thank you very much for creating this video. I did not realize that Mike just passed away. What a great loss. I’ve had a V1 for so long and have upgraded to Gen2, My wife and I always play the game spot the speed trap and it never fails to show up in many cases very far down the road. This game is even more fun when those that I have been passing end up, passing me and slam on the brakes over the top of a hill. Mike, may you rest in peace and my heart goes out to your family for their loss.
Yes the “best” but not perfect is for rich 🤑 lol😂😂😂 see you forgot to say that then the best option for most people is the XTP but also not for everyone cause 1,000 dollars I don’t know for you for me is lot of green let alone 5,000 but…thanks for the video pretty informative.
1 Passport & 2 V1G1s and they have ALL been superior devices for the years they were available! Each saved my “bacon” more than once and served to re-focus my attention on my speed during long trips! Many, many thanks, Mike‼️👍 Rest In Peace 🪦💔
I still have 2 valentine ones. I spoke to Mike a couple of times as I’m sure many others did as well. Mike would occasionally answer the phone, answer questions and take orders. One day I called on Thanksgiving Day and to my surprise Mike answered the phone. RIP Mike 😊
If you live in a city like Austin where they defunded the police, you will not need any of these jammers. I drive 200 miles everyday and I am having to drive a minimum of 90 mph just to keep up with traffic which is ridicules.
Could you make a video on it testing and reviewing them? (Maybe also include the Escort Dashcam, so its a full Escort video with all 3 things included) Would love that :))
Could you make a video on the ESCORT ZR6 Laser Shifter and maybe pare it with the Redline 360c (Extra ideer show off their dashcam aswell, maybe all Escort system setup, Radar + Laser Detection and Shifters + Dashcam) Would really like that.
I still have a Passport I received for a high school graduation present in 1986. It’s been in a storage box for many years. Still looks new. The cord went bad in the mid 90’s is why I quit using it. Don’t know if it’s worth getting a replacement cord ? Don’t police use different bands of radars now ?
This man has done wonders for the transportation world and a great service to the public. I was also in v1 moments in 2020 with a 13 mile detection of 34.7 from Las Vegas metro pd while heading down us 95 near searchlight, nv that they patrol
I remember several years back, everyone was waiting and speculating about the V1G2 and when it would be released. I hope that the Valentine group maintains his legacy.
Hi, can you do me a favor and just suggest something for my application, 2024 Ford F150 - Priority being front viewing (I'm not looking for rear viewing Camera because my rear window will be tinted dark) second priority being parking coverage, Looking for a high Quality made product, with high resolution enough that visual appearance is crisp and I can pick up the ability to make out license plate numers/letters, and ability to use a phone App, thank you - Rick
Hi. Just to be sure, did you watch the video first? As mentioned in the video, the Viofo’s will be your best bet. Maybe A119 Mini 2 for an affordable option, or the Viofo A229 Pro 1CH for even better video quality (my choice).
@@VortexRadar Im from EU, and getting an installer seem hard. Also the Radar Detector is mostely available in USA some aint in EU. But Uniden R8 is an i consider buying it but i would just love some additional laser jammers from Uniden i could pare with the Uniden R8 (My plan is to wait till you release a video testing and revieweing when Uniden make Laser Jammers standalone or compatable with Uniden R8)
Good to know he loved & served the Lord & was a Christian. I will see you again Mike. Thanks for giving me the start of testing & engineering Rd's for over 25 years. Thanks for the Laser experience visits while owning TMG Laser Jammers.
I was a trucker passing thru Cincy back in the mid 1990s and after seeing the countless radar detector tests in car and driver and seeing his detectors always out performing everyone else’s I called his small shop to see if I could buy his v1 from his shop and if I could get a semi into his parking lot(the nice lady who answered the phone said yes to both questions). He had a small shop off of the 275 loop in Cincinnati and I remember walking in the door into the very small lobby and going to the small window and a lady had my v1 all packaged up and ready for me. Unfortunately I never met Mike. I had his escort and passport radar detectors back in the day as well as his v1 and I have his v1 gen2 now. RIP Mike V… you have no idea how much money u saved me and u also have no idea that you were part of my family on every road trip we made in our cars as ur products were always with us saving our butts. I’ll look at my V1 Gen 2 a little different starting today knowing that the man behind this amazing piece of tech is a legend yet no longer with us.. but u will still always be with me and my family Mike. Godspeed Mike V.
My condolences to the Valentine family. Mr. Valentine way of doing business inspired me over 35 years ago. His dedication to customer service, providing the best product to the consumer and remaining privately owned is the best business model if you can do it I tell all of the young people who inspire to go into business, follow what Mr. Valentine did, if you can. We are blessed to have experienced the best product and customer service experience in the industry. Remember, it matters what we do in life, but it matters more how we inspire others to make a positive actions in this world ( as he did for me). God bless Mr. Valentine and his love ones, as I am sure that his legacy will live on. Godspeed, Robert Baker
Thanks for the video honoring Mike Valentine’s history and contributions to the radar detection world. I’ve know of Mike since the late 70’s and early 80’s. Always wanted a Valentine 1 but it was out of budget. And never know the Escort was his baby! That’s so cool. I’m a radar tech from the military and worked in cellular RF seemingly forever. Thank you!
In honor of Mike Valentine's contribution to humanity, I will upgrade my V1G1 to G2 this week. I had been hesitating due to the cost, but I want his family to further enjoy the fruits of Mr. Valentine's unique giftedness.
Tony, Why are dash cam manufacturers starting to not have phone apps, instead using windows apps? Having to remove camera or remove SD cards is annoying and also means my cam is no longer recording unless I get a second SD.
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Mike, a truly remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with his unwavering kindness and honesty. He was a gift from our Creator, and his absence leaves a profound void in our hearts.
Car and Driver magazine ran a radar detector comparison back in the early '90s and the V1 came out on top. As I was in the market for a new detector and as an engineer myself, I was interested in the V1 and called them to ask a couple of questions. To my complete surprise, Mike Valentine answered the phone and we had a very pleasant conversation. Needless to say, I was sold and I've been a V1 owner for 30+ years, including the latest V1 Gen2 model. RIP Mike and condolences to your family.
I hope you see this and will reply. I just bought a Waylens Secure 360 wifi but had no cord. It looks like it is a direct wire 12 volt with a switch wire and no step down voltage reducer, Just a fuse. Is that correct? Are both power leads tied to the same fuse? Any help is appreciated.
🙏 I’m very sorry to hear this. I remember the Fuzz Buster and the late '70s Escort. I'm still using a V1 without the latest mods, and it suits me quite well for where I live and the driving I do. Unfortunately, I always had my reservations when dealing with his assistant, Nurse Ratchet. I'll miss Mike-R.I.P.-since we were close in age, but his business still owes me $28.65 that was never refunded. It’ll be interesting to see if the company continues or shrivels up. Mike was pretty set in his ways, so I’m not sure if he had an understudy. 🤷♂️
I just saw this info this morning and it's sad to hear of his passing. I hope the Valentine One rd's continue to be a top of the line product for the years to come. RIP Mike. 🙏🙏🙏
