Your paper changed the behavior of your medium. I’d go back to what you used originally.

I think you’re right but also I feel like I needed to adjust to it. This new paper I’m using is a higher quality paper and it’s so fun to work with! It takes a lot of water and mixing colors on it is a joy. I think I was trying to get back into this style and I was dealing with a new paper and that’s why the first painting I did maybe wasn’t at the same level as the others. But since identifying my color palette, I did two more paintings on that paper and I feel like they are some of my best ones! I’ll show them in a future video or on IG :)

@@LaurenceP-art Can’t wait to see how it works out. Love the way you use watercolor pencils the way they were made for. If one scratches them out on a surface, wets them and then use a brush to paint them on your paper you might as well just buy straight up watercolor paints instead. So nice how well you use them.

I do that too sometimes to add a different texture but most time I just draw with them. They’re so fun!!
