will never forget when i got in to a fight where the enemy got their turn first, casted mudoon on demifiend and it landed instantly. worst feeling because i had to rediscover the map of the 2nd kalpa because i hadn't saved in a while. god i love this game still.
I freakin love this game. I remember the PS2 version the only way to feasibly farm macca was learning that stupid third kalpa tunnel and repeating it for 40k each time. Still loved it lol
Same, but instead i was on the third kalpa and a bunch of shadows litteraly kamikaze'd my whole team Everyone of them used last resort or kamikaze like it was their last mission
@@haroldsalita1873 My naive self: oh, those are Phantom. A bit overlevel but I must be able to win since all my demons have zan, right? Yeah, they deleted my party in one round
@@lyzder7298 Last floor before the peephole = physical-resistant ice bird that appears in the final dungeon. Sure, it has a fire weakness but its Iron Claw can really screw you over
*Exploring Bandou Shrine* *Vishnu Appears* *Dragon's Eye* *Last Words Demi-Fiend and Instantly Kills him* This is a certified Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne™ Hardtype Mod Full Kagutsuchi Moment™
For me this is the true trial by fire in Nocturne. Matador is hard, but he's so infamous that people already go in to his fight totally prepared. The Labyrinth of Amala is a true challenge because it's mostly unpredictable with enemy elements and resistances, and the layout of the kalpas is more reimniscent of the older games. Not to mention some troll gimmicks like the Cursed Corridor and other stuff.
Sometimes bosses are just too easy compared to navigating the dungeon or random encounters. Just like when i entered the 4th kalpa, Beelz's fight is just way too easy compared to the encounters
I remember after completing the first floor of the labyrinth, I started seeing some of the demons outside it...4 hours later. It was then I realized the primary reason this labyrinth is so hard - every single floor throws demons at you that you're not supposed to face in the main story until much, much later.
First time hearing this: Hmmm, what's this? Enemies encounter every 15 seconds? oh shit! I'm low on health! After hearing this for the 5th time: *Infinite humming*
ikr? This game pulled me into the shin megami franchise. I remember the first few minutes of the game.... the hospital, the world ENDING! I just sat there watching in awe XD back then I only played final fantasy type games. And seeing the world end in the beginning of the game, and you making your way through all of the mess--- epic!
@@dragonieprayer Right-o! I've been same way back then but SMT games are much more different. Actually I've begun being interested in playing other SMT games after beating several Persona games:)
Almost through the cursed hallway Encounter starts: Me: Can you just get out of the way? *Mabufudyne* *Hades Blast* Me: Fuck it…….. Run It works *IT WORKED!?*
Exploring cursed hallway. Get an encounter. Enemy goes first. First turn Flauros uses crit iron claw on full health demi fiend. Dies. Get sent to start of second kalpa. Fml
I’d like to think after kicking all of Lucifers henchman’s asses in the labyrinth of amala and lucifer himself, demi fiend just fucks off and leaves Lucifer to eat dust after being crowned king. In smt apocalypse DLC this is implied when stephen brings all the protagonist together
Maybe it's because I am an SMT veteran, but I didn't find the Kalpas all that difficult. Just long and gimmicky. (The fact I also had a demon with Makatora and Mana Refill helped too. That said I accidently grinded for exp and macca on these levels whilst getting lost, so all is good.
@@AloisAgos Can relate, especially since Nocturne was my first SMT game. It also reminds me of that one time I was playing Earthbound, trying to get the Sword of Kings, but I think my version was one of those bugged ones where it never actually drops. Had Ness and Co. at max level before long lmao
I literally can't play turn-based RPGs on Normal difficulty anymore thanks to doing True Demon endings on Hard in Nocturne. The Labyrinth of Amala was easily the most punishing part of that.
Smt 3 really should have been a different game. The whole themes were about Buddist beliefs with Reasons being the choice of conception and all that. Not sure what the symbolism for Demi-Fiend having aztec/linca peruvian sign lines on his body but im sure it means something
Pierce is an endgame skill. Most players can get the skill immediately after defeating trumpter which unlocks the 5th kalpa. At the very bottom of the kalpa the player talks to the old man and the pale lady which unlocks the hidden skill in the marogareh magatama. Simply level up while marogareh is injested.
@@canadmexi Trumpeter does indeed spawn at yurokucho station provided mother harlot is defeated first...she is found at yoyogi park west entrance somewhere.
