This is one of a series of videos covering the full dismantling, restoration and rebuild of a Norton Commando engine and gearbox. This particular video shows the rocker shafts and rockers being removed from the cylinder head. First of all the head is heated to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit in the Barbie to expand the alloy head. After this a slide hammer is crewed into the endo of each shaft in turn and removed from the head. With the shafts out it is then quite straightforward to remove the rockers themselves, making careful note of where the accompanying washers were located.

Thanks for the video, Chris. This is a great series - keep them coming. What is the name of the spiral spring washers that you mentioned?
