Ander Killed 80 innocent teengers... He shot people saying that ''You'll get help.'' Then shot more people. Shot bodies 5 times, and thinks he has the right to get out of a 21 year prison punishment.. I think he should be in there longer, cause he dosen't have courage.. I’ve noticed that people hate this man which is understandable…. However, the same level of hatred isn’t applied to immigrants who are severely overly represented in murder of European countries…. It leads me to believe that we hold whites at a higher standard … either consciously or subconsciously (latter in my opinion)

You don't think what he did sticks out as being a "bit" more extreme than most acts of violence? Have you even read what he did? Systematically and calmly walking around and executing children on an island where they had no escape. And before that detonating a huge bomb that by pure luck of being placed on a weak spot didn't kill many more than it did. You're absolutely delusional if you think that does not deserve more hatred than someone "only" killing one or two people. Please list comparable acts of terror that has not been met by similar levels of hatred. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Exactly, I think most people actually don't want to have to commit mass murder or have to take the stand as the one who hates all foreigners for speaking up. They or at least I just want to be able to discuss what's evidently happening, speak openly about it and not worry about being labeled racist for addressing issues while we still can. I think turning a blind eye will ultimately lead to something much more bloody and unpleasant.

In Norway, it is very unusual to address someone by using Mr or Ms/Mrs (Herr, Frøken/Fru), in fact it is more usual to address other by using their first name; this is actually a common practice in the media. For instance, media often refers to the PM simply as "Jens". However, in more formal situations like this one, it is common to use the person's last name. I don't think anyone uses honorifics anymore, it was much more common a few decades ago.

I don't think he did the right thing but it's ridiculous for people to say his opinion doesn't matter. Everyone's opinion matters, you just may or may not agree. He took his hate too far and should be punished. But for what it's worth I think what he is upset about is the fact that foreigners are taking advantage of Norway's generous welfare services. A valid issue. But I'm an American so I can't speak for Norwegians.

I wasn't aware that they had stopped in the first place... I've followed this trial every single day and it has all either been broadcast live or, in those cases where the court has ruled against broadcasts, been transcribed word for word. The only parts of the trial that hasn't been documented publicly in either video or text are those pertaining to details about his mother that she herself has asked the court to keep confidential.

@@eleocasa4594 Wow, blast from the past. I have no memory of writing that heh. But then again it's been a decade so I guess that's not too strange. But sorry, no, I don't have any idea. IIRC the transcripts I was reading at the time were published in the newspapers. So maybe you could reach out to them and see if they can dig it out for you. Otherwise I would assume that it's part of the records of the court so they should have them as well. No idea if those are available on request or not though.

I Would REALLY like to hear all of his stuff, the whole process. What he did was cruel, but i get always offended when a government tries to keep information from the people, that pisses me off. One thing I am learning from this Mr. Anders Breivik thing, that Europe as a whole doesn't know how or is incapable of handling immigration. Immigration is and always has been the fleeing of religious and/or political persecution unlike my ancestors did when they fled from European persecution 500 years ago. Europe has one huge obstacle towards immigration, Europe is 98% indenginous while we in Canada and America and the entire New World are 98% immigrant.

One thing everyone noticed during this trial, is that he never used, not once, any adjectives in his detailed describtions of his actions on Utøya. There's been no "sadistic" undertones in his explanations, no "self-aggrandizement", as such, in the way the details are laid out. But many have commented on the way the media apparently is toning these facts down in their disclosure. Many bloggers here in Norway are a bit concerned about the way our media "filters" certain aspects of this trial...

to be honest, some people disenchanted with their governments might be influenced by someone like him, but doing what he did wouldn't solve their problems. i don't think there's anything wrong with not giving Breivik's opinions too much publicity, considering where those opinions led him.

@@nm577 Nevertheless, a court must adhere to certain formalities, regardless of what the offender has done. If only so that it is not considered biased afterwards. In the meantime, however, I have heard that it is quite common in Norway to refer to people in this context by their surname only.

While as a man I wouldnt put it quite the way you have..but there is something odd about Anders. Its difficult to imagine how a guy with this sort of disposition went through with what he did. He is soft spoken, seems quiet, and just doesnt fit the stereotype. He seems intelligent enough. Why he chose to do what he did, they way he did is a mystery to me.

As time has moved on, the memories of the people killed have lived on, their names and faces are remembered, and their families have the country's support. They've built museums in the honor of those kids. The labour part have openly used this guy's sentiments as an argument why Norway needs to keep developing multiculturalism and ease immigration laws, and they ended up winning the last election are still in power. Meanwhile no one talks about this guy any more. Most people in Norway have no idea why he did what he did, and correctly assume that he was just a disturbed incel who had too little to do and lived in his mom's basement for way too long. His name has become synonymous with "freak", "monster", "deviant" and "traitor". Much in the same as Quisling. He's regarded more revolting than pederasts.

Of course, I totally agree. I just stated that anger, justified or not, should never be an excuse to commit or applaud a crime like that and somehow I feel we both share the same opinion. =) It's pleasing to find smart people here in the Internet able to express their concerns about a delicate matter like mass-immigration and cultural clash derived from failed multiculturalism without going extreme and racist, without spreading hate-speech or making hateful comments. :-) Greetings.

My statement was satirical. I am against mass murder and mass murderers, but the problem is that the Norwegian state is too soft on criminals, murderers. He will get out of prison after 10 years with good behavior. In my country for ordinary assault on a police officer on duty to receive up to 40 years in prison. The attack on one man. This has killed 77 people and injured 240 people and received 21 years in prison. Think a bit about what I said.

He also gets to write from prison. It is almost like he had no consequences for him crime. He didn't do much with his 'freedom' anyways. I bet he gets three hots and a cot and air conditioning, and all kinds of other shit in their prison. In the US he would not have a nice time, but he also wouldn't get out in 22 years. Depending on the state, he would get poisoned to death. That is justice. That is compassion. That is fairness my friends. Anyways, the Left did more damage than he could ever do.

In theory the max sentence is 21 years, but if the prisoner is still considered dangerous the sentence can be prolonged by 5 years, and if he still is considered dangerous after those five years an additional 5. So my guess is that he won't be getting out any time soon.

There is a law wich prolongs the sentence 5 years at a time if the prisoner is considered dangerous to society, so I don't think he'll ever get out. And prison is not supposed to be a punishment, it's rehabilitation.

Yeah, I want to know what he has to say! This is pure censorship and leads me to think that Breivik could actually have something really interesting to say that proves himself right. That's the effect it has on me. I also read some parts of mein kampf on the internet, because that book is not allowed in the Netherlands. If it was allowed, I wouldn't even have bothered reading it. Same way that I now really want to see and hear Breivik speak. What is it that I am not allowed to know!?

Okey look here. It's not because of that. It's because Breivik wants attetion. Or else he would have killed himself long time ago. If we give him attetion he becomes happy. But, if we don't give him that, the people will get curious. It's really beacuse of that.
