I don't understand why you're saying you can't transfer money to three friends with a bank transfer. I seem to be able to do that easily in Australia and the UK. Is that just a US thing?

Lie! That payment was custodial because 99.999% of people are using custodial ln wallets and specifically in this video you been using custodial ln wallets only! Actually there is no user friendly way to manage self custodial ln wallet, it NEVER will be solved because to do ln tx both sides must be online and have open wallets.

Layer 3? How many freaking layers do you need before you admit the underlying tech isn't the right thing for much of what you dream of doing using decentralized blockchain? We need truly private, zero permission, unstoppable and untraceable payments. That was the original dream. And it needs to scale BIG and be extremely fast. BTC is not designed to do that at its core nor to support layers that try to give some of that as cleanly and with as much privacy as is desired. IMHO it is really harming innovation in the space to insist so many new thinks sit on top of Bitcoin and it is endangering users.

Bitcoin already achieves censorship resistance once you get convert fiat to Bitcoin. The reason Bitcoin is inefficient is for security purposes which is a ddos feature. All the other blockchains are not ddos resistant and that’s why they are so fast. In computer science there is always a trade off time vs memory space. In the case of the crypto space the trade offs are decentralization, scaling, and security. It’s impossible to have all 3 in one, in the case of Bitcoin it excels in decentralization and security which is perfect for storing financial information. Other blockchains they take scaling and “decentralization” (which is questionable for some because crypto of proof of stake) which is not good for storing important information such as financials. We are creating a system that is different from the current financial system and you are looking from a lens that’s mimicking the current fiat financial system.
