Hello retsina12, it is a very sad situation and the images of these poor cats and dogs who are abused and poisoned,are in my head every day. We cannot wait for god to punish these sick people, we (outsiders of Greece) have to support the good greek people living in Greece by putting permanent pressure on the greek government and trying to raise money for the shelters as much as we can. @2010maryanne Sadly, the majority seem not to like cats, donkeys or horses either. All the pictures and videos of poisoned and hanged animals haunt me.
Of course there is cruelty in germany and the U.K., all over the world in fact, but at least the governments in civilised EU countries take animal abuse seriously and the culprits are punished but in greece they have no interest in punishing people even though there are laws. I had the worst holiday of my life in Rhodes last October, when the local people told me that it was the "end of season poisoning" due to start.
@ImagineTheBlue To answer your questions, firstly because there are enough people in our country to care about animals so we dont need to speak about them. Greek animal lovers do care what we say and they invite us to help and send money to YOUR country. What exactly do you do to help??????
anyway i think the EU must check this countries like greece which is not meritocratic ...thank you for care the animals..and other people like you..i love the animals more than humans..cause the biggest and evil animal who exist in world is tha thing its called HUMANS...;((
you welcome..before months the EU give money to greek government to do in females cats sterilization..so the came in a few houses to take some cats..they told me that they came next week to take mine but since then i didn t see them..you know what happen???they took some cats just to see in the eyes of people and the other money i m sure that they keep to themselves like always done in this public services,the rest money...
That people have to get educated. It is horrible, I can't understand that people who don't love animals. You use them for hunting or for tourism(cats) and then you kill them. You are Totally Unforgivable.
Totally agree about the immigrants, but what reason or excsue do u have behind Greeks that are same even ones that are born here Australian, there still cruel to animals here, its in there blood
