Spence is my boy, and I hated watching him go through that. With that said, what we're not going to do, is take any credit away from Bud. That man earned it, and became a legend in my eyes.

Spence didn't make any excuses, he was at the post pess conference and repeatedly gave Crawford credit. He took it like a man. Nothing but respect.

Spence took the L like a man. He didn’t make excuses, and we shouldn’t either. Crawford put on a clinic.

Stop making excuses for him! He held the WBA, WBC, AND IBF at 147!! That's his weight class. It's up to him to make weight and keep in fighting shape even when he's off!

He showed he was a true champion, a warrior that wouldn't quit and earned a lot of respect and a new fan base as a result. His humility in defeat is a lesson all on it's own. Let's learn from it. He lost. Crawford won… stop making crazy ideas as to why Spence’s lost… he got beat by a superior force.. just sad it wasn’t as competitive .

Weight-drain had nothing to do with Spence losing. Crawford just took advantage of his mistakes such as reaching and getting his body out of position when throwing some punches (just like Ryan Garcia). Spence wasn't able to overwhelm Crawford the way he did his previous opponents because he's not a power puncher, he's a volume puncher instead. Plus, Crawford gave him lesser openings from the beginning just like Winky Wright did versus Felix Trinidad, which was a clinic too.

That's why Crawford said he will never get no credit no matter who he fights but Spence got beat plain and simple.

When have you ever seen a doctor check on the fighter after the first knockdown especially when the ref didn’t tell him to. watch the pre fight interview that man was slurring his words and looked like he was about to pass out. He normally struggles with the weight and taking 15 months off didn’t help it probably made it worse.

I have been watching Crawford here in Omaha since he was sixteen years old. Midge , BoMac, and team Crawford have brought Bud along the old school way. Every decision they made could have made or broke his elite boxing career. Decisions such as what weight to fight, how to prepare, how to keep him in top shape. Like BoMac said , others are trying to get to where they are. It was learning from the school of hard knocks. Years of what works and what don't work. The Omaha boxing fans and this old timer already know that this didn't just happen. This is years of hard work. Work and experience going clear back to Ron Stander and Joe Frazier at the Omaha Civic auditorium. And of coarse it helps to have a fighter as talented as "Bud" that understands the value of outworking his competition. Everyone that seen Bud fight when he was just a kid, knew he could be an elite boxer some day. Getting there is easier said than done. Somehow, those around Bud, like Midge, Bo, Carl, and many many more somehow got Bud to the gym and convinced him to stay with it a work hard, when it would have been much easier to go half way.. 40-0 and the undisputed welterweight champion of the world. Mission accomplished.

I've been a bud fan for a long time but recently found a lot of respect for Spence, because of his calm nature and never disrespectful too his opponents. Hats off to both men for making the fight happen. On the other hand those heavy bag combos just don't work against instinctual fighters. Bud knew exactly what Spence was gonna do every time. I remember thinking the same thing When Adonis Stevenson beat Chad Dawson.

Had nothing to do with the weight they were I’ll prepared for the moment thinking that they didn’t need to improve while bomac and co. Over prepared and the result was an assault on a great fighter. I think in a rematch it’ll be way more competitive but ultimately the same result . Errol will get better because of this loss because his weaknesses were fully exploited and he’s gonna have to see that tape a lot . I don’t think it’s that many dudes that can beat Spence but Crawford is by and far out of his league .

I don't make excuses for people but Spence was not Spence! The man looked drained and over trained coming in, not to mention that Darryl James did not work on Spence getting out of the way of punches. Spence doesn't slip and move he basically blokes the punch by putting his glove up and when he's coming out of a crouch he leaves himself open. Spence was spent coming into that fight along with the fact that Bud exposed his weakness of not being prepared for a counter puncher and as a result you saw what happened. Spence first knockdown came when Bud hit him in the shoulder, The Shoulder! If Spence trainer can't see Spence's short comings and don't work to fix them then Spence needs to move on to a trainer that can teach him to move his head and fight a counter puncher. Bud did his job and he was solid! Hats off to Bo Mac and Bud! Hats off to Errol for still coming to fight but Darryl James needs his ass whooped!

Spence's reaction to getting hit has been concerning since he came back from his accident. I wouldnt be surprised if he has poor equilibrium because of the accident. Spence also seems to be suffering from residual scar tissue. Pair all of this with a weight cut he shouldnt be doing and youre playing a dangerous game with your life. Bud was going to stop Spence no matter what, but its heart breaking to see another fighter loose so much of themselves in that ring. Spence should retire, his heart is too big for his own good and Derrick James doesnt know when to call a fight.

Spence was obviously weight drained, but more concerning is how vulnerable he's looked ever since his near fatal car crash. Against Garcia he got hurt with shots he'd ordinarily walk through, and even in his one way beat down of Ugas, he was in trouble a couple of times. Take nothing away from Crawford though. He's definitely along Inoue as p4p champ at the moment, and an all-time great without doubt.

Its not like he fought Bud right the crash Spence unified with Ugas and got praised for demolishing Ugas and 147 is his weight class that's where he held 3 belts. People need to stop with this weight drain" excuse. If the fight was at 154 Bud still wins. Spence fought a guy who is technically better than him and who simply figured him out as early as Round 2. Spence was getting countered way too easy and simply couldn't adjust He became wary trying to close the distance and Bud being a clever fight took advantage. Like Floyd Mayweather said - "I outsmart my opponent and find a way to win ". That's what Bud did. Boxing is about adjusting to your opponents and Spence couldn't do that.
