Another example of the tech industry settling on the dumbest terminology - when every other industry already has appropriate terminology for this stuff(...I mean, 'skeletonized'? The aforementioned 'perforated'? How about just 'lightened'?). So damn annoying.
Would love to see short circuit (or LTT/the lab) take a look at some of the popular "enthusiast" mice from companies like Pulsar or Lamzu. The space has come a long way from the days of finalmouse, and is growing very quickly. Many small companies sell products that rival expensive mainstream mice at much lower prices. This is great for consumers of course, but reminiscent of mechanical keyboards a few short years ago, very few people know about them outside of certain communities.
sadly communities like the custom mech keyboard one just don't really wanna make stuff available to a wide audience, otherwise we'd see backlit keycaps with south facing legends waay more often.
@@opachki8325what are you talking about, most keyboard enthusiasts just find backlit keyboards(excluding white or maybe another color that matches their specific build) ugly and tacky.
I've bought 3 Model O wireless mice from them. They ALL had the scroll wheel click become too sensitive. Scroll down, registers a click. Unusable, got rid of them and went with an Aerox 3. I gave the 'little guy' a chance and got burned.
I really feel like these scroll wheel issues are plaguing the entire mice market.. I've now had this happen with everything from Sharkoon but also brands like Logitech and Razer, and I usually pay €100+ for my mice. None of them last through the first year, usually that means you have warranty but It's so incredibly aggravating. Especially when the Sharkoon mice i got for €15 lasted longer than the Razer and Logitech ones and now can no longer be bought.. Maybe Steelseries will do better but i doubt it, googling the Aerox 3 shows the exact same issue that all these other mice have.
@@leonardos.1507 had the same issue and it didn't fix it. was definitely a hardware issue. that being said i was able to RMA my mouse almost 2 years after and get a full refund, gonna buy the O2 cos it felt awesome.
Hi, We've reached out via email - it seems that you did not have the latest version of the test software we provided installed during this review. We believe this is the cause of the degraded wireless performance issues you experienced, and not reflective of the performance users will experience.
I used to be such a big Glorious fanboy. I own lots of their products, including the original day 1 Model O with the old-style cable. But the last several products I've purchased from them have been hugely disappointing due to out of the box QC issues. Even after having them replaced, the replacements had the exact same issues after being assured they wouldn't. The drop in quality combined with their ridiculously high shipping prices has steered me away from them completely these days.
The dropouts are being caused by wireless interference from your 2.4ghz WiFi network I had the same issue with my Glorious mice when I had one of my google wifi routers setup on my desk. Moving it further away from the desk fixed the dropouts. But also, that just shouldn't happen and glorious really need to fix it.
USB 3 ports also interfere with 2.4 ghz. Plug the wireless dongles into 2.0 ports whenever you can. If you have a laptop with only USB 3 then it'll be a dice roll on if it works or not.
@@-_--_-1253 Imagine making a high-end wireless mouse in 2023, and it doesn't work perfectly with USB 3 ports lmao. I would instantly return it if I had anywhere near close to these issues, considering the price. That said hopefully they can fix the problems, but I since the first model O also had these issues, and huge quality assurance issues with the mouse clicks being squeeky as well as the scroll wheel issues that several people have mentioned, I have no faith and will not buy their products anymore
@@MrSinxs Yeah that's the sad truth. Not much that can be done there. I never bought the model O myself but I dealt with this issue on my og g pro wireless. So hopefully my advice helps someone out.
I just love how its really a raw unboxing and a fun video by ShortCircuit Great job linus media team You guys make enjoyable videos And knowlegable tooooo..... KEEP GOING
One thing to note. This mouse isn't really ambidextrious, as stated, since its not really going to be used by a left-handed user, due to lack of side buttons for a left handed user.
Ive used the previous version, the model O with essentially the same button layout as a lefty and its as ambidextrous as 95% of other mice out there, you get used to the awkwardness and slight discomfort of side buttons with time just with any other mouse, in terms of good truly ambidextrous fps mice there is very few options and almost none in the super lightweight category, its just kind of a given that being left-handed and looking for mice you always compromise on something, even with the few dedicated left handed mice there is rarely the perfect mouse for you (although it has gotten a lot better in the past 5 years)
I suppose there are QC issues with Glorious, but I have like 4 mice from them and never had any problems. Over time though most Glorious products end up going on sale at some point which is something to note
You are supposed to plug the cable into the laptop, then the white thing you see on the left of the screen at 10:33 onto the cable, and finally plug the dongle into the white thing. Youre having drop out issues because you didn't plug it in correctly.
The Newegg sponsorship felt a little weird. Have they successfully addressed their customer support and product support issues? I've been making a concerted effort to avoid Newegg until they addressed their support issues and it doesn't seem like they have.
My model D came with optional extra glide pads that made it feel so much better. Plus it's wired so no connection issues. Using it just over 2 years now and no issues so far, my previous 4 Razer mice all had some form of click issues in that time and this was like 1/3rd of the price so I can't complain at all. Plus their warranty seems really good, unlike Razer who's CS was awful to me. Real shame that a $100 mouse has those sorts of issues, I would've expected a lot better from them.
loved my model O and they even RMA'd it for a full refund after almost 2 years just because of a scroll wheel issue. now I got 87 bucks in gift card so this one's a no brainer, customer support is up there with the big guys. EDIT: GET THE BLACK ONE. don't buy a white peripheral if your hand is gonna be on it all day.
RMA'd my black one about 1 year ago and they only had a white ones in stock at my retailer so I took them up on the offer since they are the only one selling glorious products in my country and my Pc is white anyway. I'd say I've kept it quite pristine, but i did need to force myself to only eat with my left hand for about a week.
@@GanDtech maybe all your white stuff is fine because you're a tech channel that has dozens of mice that you swap between? for any actual use case...you'll be using the mouse every day. unless you're a literal robot you have skin cells, catch these acid hands.
As someone who has the white model o for 2 years and uses it every day, it is getting pretty worn. The glorious logo is fading, and the white is turning to yellow even after cleaning it. So yeah, get the black version. It still functions perfectly, though.
I bought the Model O Wireless White when it first came out and had the same drop issues. Unfortunately I couldn't tell if it was the mouse or Win11 as that was new at the time as well. It did get much better after some time with proper Driver updates. Hopefully it's that simple as well but should not be a thing at this rate.
As someone who has owned Glorious mice, you need to wear in their normal feet. You can slide it around a hard pad for awhile to wear it in, but it will take like a week to wear in. My Glorious Model 2 Wired is on the way. Hope I like it.
I've had the wired Model D for a long time and its been my favorite mouse. Haven't had any issues at all unlike some other comments I've seen about the Model O. The general mouse usage of this Model O 2 does seem disappointing though.
same I have both wired and wireless though the wired had some QC issues (though it was an early production unit) anyhow the wireless has been flawless for me.
Honestly, their products are terrible. I Bought a gmmk pro and every single stab wouldn't move at all. Then I bought a sonnet. Glorious just has decent marketing. That's it.
Well they have qc issues but I have a model d wireless been using it for a long time and it works fine I've had many mice and my model o wireless and model d wireless were pretty good
And half their marketing is just ripping off an organic community's branding. Like, they couldn't even invent their own name so they just bandwagoned off the PCMR community.
used the model d for about nearly 3 years. the shape and lightness was nice coming from a og g502. but i quickly realized the holes were going to be a problem with my sweaty hands. sweat gunk gets caught in the holes and is pretty difficult and time consuming to clean out. eventually got the grip tape for it. grip tape was nice. covered the holes and provided some nice grip. but since the material is sort of elastic, it eventually collapses and indents into the mouse holes. so sweat gunk eventually gets caught there and is even harder to clean because of the material itself and theres no scraping those indents. started looking into some mice and saw that the model d pro was out on the group buy. on paper was what i wanted. wireless, same exact shape and function, and no holes. but the color ways sucked and it being a group buy was not the greatest. held off on it and kept looking around. thought about the gpro superlight. tried my friends since he had one. realize i hate the shape, especially the way the back is a big hump that digs into my palm. eventually stumbled across the deathadder v3 pro. only looked into it a little and decided that was the one. used 150 worth of prepaid cards from a work bonus and got it only paying 15 bucks out of pocket. pretty much established its my endgame mouse. had little to no learning curve as it is nearly identical in shape to the model d but feels much more solid in every way. the body, the mouse buttons, everything. especially the side buttons. model d has a good bit of pretravel and a bit of post and overall feels likes its squishy. dav3 has no pretravel and feels like it just stops nice and solidly after pressing. pretty much no complaints so far. been using it nearly 4 months. oh and optical switches so bahbye debounce. for the record i dont like the deathadder v2. the one touted as one of the most popular gaming mice. then later i saw that glorious came out with new mice. the 2 versions and was like yeah no. im done with glorious
For me its the opposite : the holes lets my sweaty hands breathe a little which makes me sweat way less, to the point where i dont wanna use a mouse without perforations ever again
I can't get behind "ambidextrous" mice that still only have side buttons on one side. It's the main reason I only use the G-pro wireless because I can swap the buttons from the left side to the right side as I'm left handed.
Debounce is not "time between double clicks", it's the time between actuating the switch and the click being registered by the mouse. The reason you need a tiny bit of debounce is that when you press down the switch, the metal contacts inside the switch may bounce a bit and make a couple separate contacts before they come to a rest and are connected to each other. If there is zero debounce then the mouse would register a click on every bounce of the metal contacts within the switch, meaning you could get multiple clicks registered on a single mouse button press. Debounce is one of the main reason why different mice have different latencies. I think Razer has some mice with optical switches which do not need any debounce since the switch is completely different, and due to that the mouse has very low latency compared to others.
I don’t personally have a glorious mouse but like 4 people in my class have and every single one of them has something broken on the mouse, for 3 people it’s the scroll wheel and for one it’s the left mb, which half of the time won’t register clicks and when it does then it’s mostly double clicks. It’s crazy to me that those people actually use their mice like that, i would be so annoyed by a broken mouse.
their support is excellent im on my third model o and every time they replace it (first time i had to pay shipping, second time was completely free but that could be they changed it and not because it was my second time getting a replacement) so tell them to get a replacement from support
I’m right handed and have tried both ambi and right specific mice. The g pro wireless I use now is just so nice to hold I can’t fault it. I’ve got larger hands too
Funnily enough the other day I picked up a Model 0- Wireless. Now, I'm not very happy with it, as it advertises about 75 hours of "use", though, leaving it on overnight (12h or so) is enough to kill the battery. Every single day I need to charge it. Has anyone else had this experience? I just ended up ordering the Logitech G Pro Superlight.
We need these three things on a mouse; - Adjustable contour (likely by replacing or appending onto the interface one's hand rests on) - Swappable switches ((Different feel and ease of replacement) - Augmentation for left hand on non-ambi mouse designs That's it. The ability to cover the honeycomb with a diffused material so it is smooth on the hand would be nice if the contour is fixed, so digging in, the mouse doesn't leave bumps in one's hand. I would _really_ love an ergo MOBA-style mouse with a keypad on the side which could just be the same kind of clicky buttons chicklet keyboards use, and I would be a happy camper.
Their stuff always feels like a slightly nicer version of the generic tech you find on Amazon. The mouse bungee is actually a good example of that. If they up their QC a little more it's not a bad market, but they could do with a rebrand at the same time. I can't say I'm into the PCMR branding.
@@hey01e5 well i mean the word glorious doesnt really connotate with pcmr. and it was the original brand naming scheme of the products so i highly doubt they would fully rebrand with an entirely different name when their products were known as like the "glorious model d"
My Model O Wireless sensor died within 2 weeks, then my GMMK Pro died within 1 1/2 years, and finally my Model O Pro has rattle issues so safe to say I'm never getting another product from them. Went back to Razer and am much happier over there
Bought my Model D a couple years ago, haven't had any issues though that was before the rebranding. Wonder if they had a corporate shakeup type thing when the rebranding happened.
Ive had a model o wireless for ages now, basically since it launched and its been amazing. No complaints at all but from other comments it seems to be luck of the draw? But form personal experience their keyboards and mice are all great value and work really well
No experience with their keyboards, was considering one of them before my 2nd Model O wireless went bad. I was (and still am) concerned about their QC so I went with a Keychron K2 instead.
Lmao... why?? 4:28 : "We have a reminder that we are in 2023, update all your peripherals." 12:38: "After updating drivers..."
So, the music in this episode kept making me pause and look around because it sounds like blinds or something being blown by air and impacting themselves or the wall with my headset on. lol
I had an issue with the connectivity on my Model D wireless (although I see you guys got it fixed with a software update). I found that if I placed my phone anywhere near the line between the dongle and the mouse, it would cut out all the time. Maybe the wireless card on the laptop was causing some interference.
There was a big sticker telling you to update the firmware, you mentioned it as you ripped it off, and then you didn't update the firmware, had bad performance and got pissy about it. Wow.
What mouse pad is that? 😮 It looks fantastic and 2 of those would really complete my desk.. I have been searching for the right look for a while I hope they are available to get somewhere.
One of the main reasons people liked Glorious in the past was for drag clicking and other ‘mouse abuse’ tactics in Minecraft. Since you can turn off the debounce time, unlike most other brands, you could get insane numbers like 30+ cps. I’m surprised they are still somewhat relevant. Does anyone use these mice for non-cps related activities nowadays?
One of the few mice reviews I will actually see on this channel, nothing against David, seems like a cool guy. Just his clear bias for logitech is what dissuades me from watching more mice vids. So since I know he'll complaint about glorious, I'm all for that lol.
"Our office building with an extremely congested 2.4GHz setup has a 2.4GHz wireless mouse show symptoms of this issue - Bad mouse." ....? Not that I ever heard of this brand.
The DPI led being tied to general rgb lighting is a firmware bug I believe , because on m D- the DPI led is changing colors even though I have disabled the general RGB
Glorious used to be a champion with their entry and accessible products at a competitive price for consumers trying to get into enthusiast field. For example, their GMMK built quality and price with their marketing material stating they want to provide a solution for non-groupbuy items. But now they are slowly turning into a money hungry company just look at the software features of the GMMK Numpad with multiple addons to upsell you and the Series 1 pro mouse groupbuy starting a few days after Model 0 pro mouse groupbuy ended. Big L Edit: Changed built quality of the GMMK Numpad to software features.
"Glorious has reached out to us about an update that has been pushed out that should fix the connectivity issues we had!" based on the fact that EVERY Glorious Mouse so far had wireless issues, im actually cancelling my plans to get a Model i2. Ive seen so many reviews already that mention bad Glorious Wireless...
Yeah, even their previous model has connectivity issues with the 2.4Ghz. I changed it for the Asus Keris Aimpoint and didn't experience any 2.4Ghz interference
@@keonxd8918 I've been with Logitech wireless basically my whole life and never had any issues. I actually wanted to replace my G502LS with a Model i2, but I guess I won't...
i got the Model D and D-. i love them both, but the - is a tad small for my hands. Still decided to keep it for a back up. If you have minor soldering experience, and trust yourself, i HIGHLY suggest getting some kaihl reds or something along those lines and swapping out the switches, i did that in both of my glorious mice and its awesome. I also got the GMMK TKL and the XXL mousemat
I have medium large hands and accidentally got the D-. Canceled it in time and got the model D. Model D is the PERFECT size to be any grip type or hybrid palm and I would've really regretted it if it was smaller lol
Id also like to say as someone who has been daily dsriving one of these mice for a couple years now i haven't noticed any difference in the friction of my scrollwheel.
LTT mouse reviews are always underwhelming. It's really a shame especially how they are trying to amp up the "scientific" nature of literally everything except the mouse reviews.
I own a Model O 1st gen White and Black, Model D Wireless, GMMK Pro, GMMK Compact, and their Glorious Panda switches. The only product of theirs that is not currently buried in a bin or thrown away is the Glorious Panda desktop toy. It's sooo cute. Their products do not last and there are much better options on the market that will stand the test of time.
Owner of 2 model O - wireless because lower profile of 1.4 inch height is necessary due to wrist injury. I love them both but they have little QC issues, but are still my mains over everything else. One has a wonky main click, will not really go down on one particular corner, but that took me a while to notice and the other has something loose on the inside of it if you shake it really well? Otherwise it works perfect, the rattle does not occur during any kind of gaming, no matter how intense my mouse swipes are. BTW, big thanks to Glorious for making a mouse for me. :) Their customer service was also really good whenever I had an issue. Good people of YT: Are there any other similar ambi small mice with 1.4-1.45 inch heights (35-37mm preferably shorter tho)? Seems literally everything is 1.5'' (even the viper mini and that expensive version of it?) and that .1 inches makes a huge difference for me in terms of comfort and aim. I'm willing to try anything, even chinese clones. I'm more curious and not super looking to replace something that is basically perfect for me.
Happy owner of a Lamzu Atlantis Mini Pro 4k (lol) now, as well as the Zaopin Z1 pro (also 4k compatible, same guts as Lamzu, but 4k dongle still not released I think). I alternate those 2 and have never played better. Both of my O- Wireless are sitting gloriously in their boxes. One has a crooked scroll wheel and the other has loose internals. Both came like that, btw ^^ I loved them, but better products with better shapes came out.
My last Glorious devices (keyboard, last gen of this mouse) both died fairly fast, the quality is just not there. Now this looks like more of the same. Nope. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Great editing as always though, so at least the quality on LTT is still tops!
Complaining about holes in the bottom of the mouse (which is pretty standard these days for weight reduction) but no complaints about the holes in the top shell? 80mil switches being obviously better than 20mil switches? The keyboard and mice people at LTT need a refresher course.
I really wish glorious would make a competitor to the Razer Naga Pro so that I can finally dump it. The clicks have become mushy, but besides that the product is great, I just want something lighter with all the same features.
How can you call a mouse "ambidextrous" when the side buttons are only on one side. I'd like to see David have a go with his left hand for feel when a company claims it's for Lefties as well.
Asus mices are underrated imo. The keris aimpoint is my favorite. It has wireless 2.4 GHz and you can keep the dongle in the mouse, Bluetooth, hotswappable switches, 75g weight, PBT plastic material, 36,000 DPI (Bruh) 1000Hz polling rate and a very accurate sensor. The only criticism I have is the DPI button is on the back of the mouse.
