I’m doing a big block mopar swap into my 64 barracuda and I don’t have the money to buy the $400 oil pan and the $180 pick up tube so It’s so close to fitting but the k members in the way, thank you for the help
I think I'd put a spacer between the motor mount and the frame are changed out the oil before I'd ever cut on my powder coating and do all that extra work
Can that section be cut completely off and replaced with something removable? I don't feel like taking the whole motor out to replace a oil pan gasket Any links would be great. Also would it be safe to do?
You’re using the Holley style pan made for 4.00 stroke crankshaft, there’s a shallower one available made for fbody. 302-1 and 302-2. If you’re not using a stroker crank you don’t have to notch, just saying…
Is that the Hot Rod/Hummer H3 Alpha pan? I am using that one, too, and notched the back part of the center of the crossmember because I couldn't get it in the truck with the body still on and the trans attached to the motor.
@@CheekyGarage I actually saw that in a later video. When I started mine, Holley didn't have any of that stuff available. I probably would use it if I did it now.
Notching the cross is beneficial to being able to drop the oil pan and not have to pull the motor. Very big positive since you have to drop the pan for oil pump, and rear main seals. This does not reduce structural integrity
