The Players Club was one of those movies I had to sneak and watch because my mama didn’t allow me to watch movies like that growing up lol. When I did watched this movie I didn’t even think about it that deep the way you explaining now. I was just like this movie about girls stripping to pay for school. Now that I’m grown I look at this movie so different now. Chile so many problematic issues all up and through the movie. He was Half Dead in Penitentiary, he was also in A Rage In Harlem, Mississippi Burning & The Last Boy Scout. Diamond’s professor was played by Ron Riser (Stanley from Friday). Prior to this movie Monica Calhoun was in The Jacksons An American Dream, A Different World & Sister Act 2. St. Louis played by Larry McCoy was in Malcolm X & Dead Presidents. Samuel Monroe Jr. is the eternal typecast. If you look up the word typecast in the dictionary you’ll see his picture. I would love to see this movie get coverted into a series like The Best Man Final Chapters. I would love to see if Diamond had a successful career in journalism, What Eboni did her life after returning home, did Ronnie & Trix run Sugar Daddy’s like they did The Players Club, Did Diamond & Blue persue their relationship, did Junior get out of prison, did Reggie, Clyde & KC take over St. Louis’ business & i would love to see a backstory on Ronnie & Junior’s upbringing. Lisa Raye & Monica Calhoun were also in Civil Brand & Gang of Roses.
