I just got fitted at Club Champion in Charlotte, NC with the T300 - replacing another major brand. This is a major upgrade to my game. I do not know if the fitting is more appropriate or the clubs fit my swing better, but I am hitting more greens in regulation, having more fun, there is a smile on my face, and the game is now more enjoyable.
Hi Mike Really enjoyed that comparison. You seem to indicate that if you already have AP1 it's not worth changing. But the front to back carry distance is a max of 13 yards with AP1 and only 7 yards with T300. The overall dispersion with T300 was much better than with AP1. Personally, I would be much happier with the consistency of T300.
A lot of things dictate spin but it's as easy as changing the ball. I have seen several videos where a guy has no spin with a pro v 1 and they give him a Kirkland ball and he gains 1200 spin. I would like to see Michael do a ball comparison for spin ! Love his swing. Wow.
New iron is far superior - better spin - far more consistent front to back - more consistent left to right - slightly more peak height and descent angle Would make a perfect 4/5 iron for most CB / T100 / T200 players
Looks like an definite improvement to me. I could care less what the back of the club looks like. Less offset and better dispersion a big plus in my opinion.
Just had delivery of my T300 (changed from AP1), would totally agree with you regarding sound looks and dispersion. I think it’s a better all round package, played 5 rounds with them now. Love them.
The significant thing here is the better dispersion. The look of this new club is not great admittedly, but if there is less chance of leftward shots and greater accuracy, it would seem to be a genuine improvement on the excellent AP1.
Just resplaced my ooold Cobra FP irons from 2008 to the Tietlest T300, I believe it will be a good bye. 12 meters longer carry and a bit easier to hit.
idec abt the improvement. AP1 is one of the best looking game improvement irons, I kept it just to wait for the new release hoping everything look better, after the release I immediately bought ap3s........
Oh man, it's so weird how your shot dispersion was vastly different compared to what it was last time you reviewed the ap1 718. Cuz last time you hit just one ball a few yards to the left of the others, yet still on the green, just feet away from the hole and all the other shots, and that was the most dispersion out of all of them. Even then you claimed you slightly pulled the shot. Where as with this video you weren't even landing shots on the green. So either its the ball you're using, or....🤔
Michael, you have a fast swing, hence no problem launching these strong lofted 7's up and high. I wonder though how a slower speed player would fare in this respect. If the ball flies low and rolls further he would probably have (more) problems stopping the ball quickly into a green. So I am not totally convinced as of their functionality when employed by the slow hitter/higher handicap golfer. This criticism is not for Titleist T300 in particular but generally with strong lofted GI irons.
@@markwalton9 You must be blind if you can't see the aesthetic beauty in the T300. Titleist really hit the mark on these. Should probably just discontinue all other irons. Each iron even has it's on on/off switch. What more could you want?
gotta agree with you ross. i have many, many sets of titleist irons i have kept thru the years, and my favorites for looks are the 716mb, the 716cb, the 716 ap2, and now the t300. other contenders are the taylormade p730's, p7mb, and the callaway 718 mb.
If I was in the market for a G.I. Iron, I would try and get an end of run fitting on the AP1, the T300 may have bells & whistles but it is ugly and the look must play a part!
I watched you review on the AP range. The performance of the AP1 there is nowhere like the above results. I winder why? The spin rate was 1200 more which is huge? Also 10 yards longer in this review?
I'm struggeling with my game. Played Titleist 755 forged since 2007 and had a really good couple of years with them, went from hcp 33 to 17 in one season, but the last 8 years i've played a lot less golf and the Titleist got to difficult, back at hcp 23. Decided to try a set of Cobra F7 one length (nine iron) but it just doesn't feel right. Thinking about getting a set of T300. Any thoughts?
Is that polymer disk (aka: the On/Off Switch) where the actual sweet spot is for this iron? I hit the T300 last week, along with Callaway Mavrik & Mavrik Max, TaylorMade Sim Max, and Ping G410 and liked the T300 the best by far. PS: I’m a 12-14 handicap playing very old Nike Slingshot irons.
I play Taylormade Speedblades because I didn’t know any better when I bought them. I’m looking for irons that have a similar feel but with some forgiveness, what would you recommend? My handicap is a 15.2
I'm looking to replace some very old Wilson Deep Red irons that I have with a set of game Improvement irons. It's a minefield with choice (manufacturer / angles etc.) but the T300 do appeal to me. Maybe not worth the upgrade from the AP1's but would you say a good choice for my situation (17 H'cap)
There has to be a better way to design that club...I dont care how much forgiveness or distance gain it gives me theres no way I'm putting that in my bag
Is it just me or does anyone else think the t300 irons are so ugly compared to the ap1 I'm not being biased as I do own and use the 718 ap1 irons but I really don't like the look of the t300 and would never class them as an upgrade more like a downgrade as I strongly believe that if don't like the appearance of the clubs from behind then I'm not buying them.
Mike, these are just ridiculously ugly. Even those of us high handicappers want something that looks good. When Titleist started making game improvement irons, their stated idea was that high handicappers wanted something that looked like good players irons, which is true. Now they gone and done this. Ugh. 🤦♂️
I just cant watch any more of your videos , the "again" thing and the constant hitting to the left without doing anything to change it is just driving me crazy. Everytime i watch one of your vids its always "again " and to the left it is even more insanely repetitive than a rage against the machine song from the 90's. Seriously stop saying again so damn much and for the live of god if you hit one left freaking at least try to not do the same on the next shot i cant draw any conclusions from this except to say hmm those clubs are either both garbage or this guy isnt trying very hard.
Mike White, that’s your choice. A person’s speech pattern, cadence and verbiage are some factors that could drive a viewer nuts. On the other hand, try being a bit nicer. A soft suggestion might do. Do you think Mike is trying to pull those balls? The dude has probably hit 200 different clubs in his videos and most aren’t to his spec. I’d presume he’s doing his best, and again, there’s just no need to be a grump turd about that.
@@bbslimecity4244 yeah this does come off very harsh , not sure why i came off like that other than just being highly annoyed ..... i want to be a viewer and a subscriber but i guess i just get the feeling sometimes that content people are just not trying very hard, i mean what did we learn from this? I feel as though it was a huge waste of what little time i have and i guess i just believe that if you do things you do them with as much energy and enthusiasm as you possibly can and especially when you are doing for other people always give 100% or just dont bother .
