My father quoted this song in my step mother's funeral. He said "Not 70-30, not 60-40 but a 50/50 love is what we had". I literally gasped and burst into tears. It was so beautiful and I want a man to feel that way about me! 💜
When Teddy sings women come ALIVE. I'm at the head of the line. Watching this video and the way he gets those woman to sing with him - MY GOD - You are the GREATEST.......so much talent
Teddy Pendergrass, one of the greatest musicians of all times, only in my view, Luther Vandrosse, can be compared to him! Rest on in heavenly peace, singing the Nightshift, of a life in the afterworld, by the Comdores!
So many people don’t even know he was not only a great singer but a drummer as well. His start with HM & the Blue Notes was as a drummer. Once he began singing he blew them out of the water!
I want a man to feel that way about me again. My fiance Dale died in my arms July 13 we were to be married December 12 2021 but our Lord took him home I am so happy he is in Heaven praising Jesus it just so hard on the ones left down here
Wow!, this dude was the powerhouse in my life! I often pretended to be Teddy for every woman that I went with and dated. I sing a'iight!, but I would play this "man of worth" music like the never ending running waters. I'm truly MISSING the next songs/albums that would be the number one for weeks in his musical genre. Rest In Peace Teddy because; "YOU ARE MY FOREVER SUPERSTAR!, MY FOREVER STILL GREATEST SINGER!". - Girl You Know!
Teddy was the hottest guy in town and still is from his grace - what a waisted talent 🙏🙏🙏 His voice resonated right here in South Africa those 70s and early 80s - he was something out of this world
We were best friends, no matter where he was, when I went to visit his face lit up and he would laugh and hug me, called me his brother and asked if I needed anything, I did not but it was so nice to love somone and be loved back, my friend always. Kenny Young of Maze.
Who's Still Here 2019? Damn...I Love This Man Right Here. I Wish I Was As Lucky...As These Girls Were. So So Miss Him Here. RIHP Mr. Teddybear Pendergrass. We Love You...I LOVE YOU!!! ☺😘💚💜 #GoneTooSoon #NeverForgotten
That's some good stuff. Teddy looking good sounding good, the Teddy Angels sounding good looking good and swaying on point. The band sounding good. Thank you Mr. Pendergrass for entertaining us with your God Given Talent. You have left some enduring music for all generations to enjoy. A true Godsend. You are worthy. We miss you and love you. Continue resting in peace.
January 18th 2023. It is 6:28 a.m. and I am sitting here jamming off when somebody loves you back. I'm sitting here enjoying the morning with Teddy and his angels. 😇
His accident never stopped him, as God had a bigger plans for him. God gave him messages to be delivered and he delivered them all. Today, he resting on the right arm of God. It is truly amazing how these mem were able to put God in their music and amidst their success they never forgotten about That Man from Galilee...…….God was there when he had his accident and God kept him longer as his work was never done...……...Teddy Prendergrass was truly blessed, a lover of mankind. The Angels are still rejoicing for his arrival.
I think this was a conspiracy theory to get he down i think the person try to frame him talking about he was gay I dont believe this gay thing people is so wicked
There was no bad music back then, no social media no tiktok, people weren't brainwashed, movies were amazing. Why did everything change so fast ? I really don't like this life, i live in Europe and people here are like robots they have no conscious, wish I was born in the 70's living in new york or something 😁
Yes, that GORGEOUS smile, his charismatic ways, he exuded confidence, power and Love💖 Teddy Blessed the World with his amazing voice. I'm a 70's Latina baby and I grew up with Teddy's music. ALL the women loved & STILL Love💖 Teddy Bear- all races which is beautiful. A Fine & talented human being that we lost too soon. I miss you Teddy Bear 🐻 RIP
Hey, many of us found out about Teddy when we listened to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Like so many great singers Luther, the all the ones mentioned above and throw Michael Jackson in there. He didn't have the same style but what a talent. I do remember seeing Maze and the Isley Brothers at the Fox Theater in Atlanta and yes, I was one of very few white men I have to admit.
@@charlesmoehrke3642 Yes, it was Harold who brought in Teddy however it was because of Teddy Harold & The Blue Notes got the acknowledgement & success they had. The only living member of The Blues Notes Lloyd Parks is still doing his thing (Bless his heart). And Jerry Cummings is a Pastor now he also sang with Teddy Bear🐻 And I agree w/you MJ, Marvin & others you mentioned are great too ~but~ there's only ONE Legend that can tell you to " Close the Door " - " Turn off the Lights" in the most magnificent way. If it wasn't for " Wake Up Everybody" playing in the mornings I wouldn't have made it to school.. No comparison, the others were amazing in their own way.
He looks and sounds like a Delicious piece of LOVE 🍫🤭☄️🔥👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve always loved his voice and performance on stage !!! Love his smile and especially when you can hear him smiling through his song’s. Just makes you feel good 🌹✨✨I love …. LOVE
God i miss the 70's and 80's SOUL MUSIC... Nothing will ever compare. Teddy had one powerful voice, my all time favorite soul singer right ahead of Luther Vandross and Barry White = all baby making singers lol. R.i.P. Teddy. Miss ya bruh!
Strong. Sensual. Serious. This song and the sentiment is so timeless, so telling, so true... Teddy shall live on and his music will forever move me. It is "so good, so good, so good when somebody loves you back"....
Thank you for what you left behind...great music to listen even into the 21st century. Teddy you are missed but I can still enjoy the music that still lives on.

Just look at his face and smile when he is singing it's like he feels every note that comes out of his mouth 👄there will never be another teddy. Just think if he was still alive the music we would still be enjoying teddy had so so so so much talent. Miss you teddy
Good morning watching from Guyana that car accident stop his life teddy would have been the greatest thing he had so much envy I am still mad after so many years that cramp his stile but it was God's will RIP handsome
@@SoundScientist1 FYI I actually sing tenor and play a good bit of guitar in my spare time so I guess you can say I'm a little if not all the way musically inclined. Now don't get me wrong I ALSO agree that the overall performance was OUTSTANDING. It's a Teddy Pendergrass show from 1979 (In the middle of his prime!!) so why wouldn't it be? If The Teddy Bear orchestra was average, give me a time frame in this video in which the band didn't keep the groove tight.
@@kemaniiwu8523. As a long time avocational musician & sound engineer, the standard I use is: was the overall band performance good enough to create, master, & release a live recording from it? In this instance, the answer is NO. The rhythm section was not "locked" for the entire groove. The drummer's kit was not properly tuned. (Snare sounded sloppy with lots of sustained overtones, instead of sounding crisp & snappy). His chosen kick drum pattern throughout most of the tune lacked that stiff "swing" that R&B/Funk musicians LOVE. (He could not work for the Maestro & GodFather of Soul James Brown - doing this. Your kick-drum double & triple strokes must be crisp). Ex. Listen from ~2:20 - 4:20 & his fills dragged ever so slightly. Right at the intro. (for the first ~8 measures) the percussionist & drummer are ever so slightly out-of-sync. (Fixable with audio engineering "trickery"). Keyboardist is using a wrong violin/strings synth patch during the intro. Bassist held it down okay, but didn't give me that tingly "he's-wurkin'-that-danged-BASS" vibe. Again, it was an overall good selection during this great 1979 concert. "Teddy's Angels" were fabulous. These are minor critiques from an arranger, conductor, or audio engineer perspective. In contrast, there are numerous videos of Frankie Beverly & Maze concerts here on YT where his guys just HAMMER the entire performance (as close to perfection as you can get).
I Love Teddy Pendergrass reminds me of my Momma She loved all his albums and she melted and was so beautiful and that woman could dance and I am missing her she turned me on to Teddy back in the late 70s-early 80's we loved all his songs my momma passed away a long time ago in1992 48 years young from Cancer of the Esophagus , lung, and brain Momma RIParadise and Aloha , now I have a wife and I am loving these oldies with her and Im making our own memories with these songs
