Mine will absolutely NOT fire anything but 45g critical defense ammo..period....it will not eject or cycle any other ammo at all...Not impressed at all..regret the purchase..
Got one recently and love it. Zero -0- problems, very accurate, loud, and ultra smooth to shoot. I've used CCI and Armscor ammo with no issues. Slide to frame fit is extremely well done. It's a lifetime gun.
just picked up one that was traded in..looks like new..gun dealer said the guy couldnt get it to cycle without jamming...i noticed it was very dry so i took a chance for 399.00...brought it home and it was dry as hell..some powder residue but looked great inside..cleaned the heck out of it..oiled the slide really good and put it back together..shot 30 rounds so far without an issue..using cci maxi's...fun gun to shoot with zero recoil and a nice sound..
Just got mine after a 2 month wait.. LOVE IT ,, It runs,, NO issues at all, Just give it a good cleaning to get the "Factory crap oil " off and she's ready to rock.. Under $ 525 Can't beat the price
Saw an ad for this so checking it out. Looks to be pretty good. Talking about the 45acp, recoil/etc. two things against it are cost compared to some other rounds and capacity usually being low. Recoil I've never found to be an issue at all and shooting a longer slide 1911 vs the 5" tames it more. Even a 10mm Smith 1006 I find not bad recoil. The worst I've felt is an lightweight concealable 357 mag. They punch pretty hard. Want a centerfire 1911 you can opt for a 9mm or 40. This 22 mag. maybe up next on the list. Nice.
I just got this piece of garbage. Can't get thru 3 rounds. Failure to load, failure to eject, super light primer strikes. I used Hornady vmax and cci maximal. Im gonna send it back to armscorp but I dont think this thing will ever be reliable.
Finally I've owned a PMR-30, and a Grendel and I have to say both are less desirable for ammunition feed it seems a 22 mag has presented many problems over the years but I'm definitely going to get this one first before I get the TCM upper for my glock I'm a firm believer in 22 Mag I don't know why it is so underrated but that's a mistake !!!it's a very effective round I own 22 MAG rifles and with the exception of Ruger 10/22 mag which they should start into production all over again or somebody should other than Walter because I would definitely want to be first in line for it but I'll definitely be getting the xt-22 mag and that's a positive 100% thanks for posting the video ! 2A, 3%,OATHKEEPERS ALL THE WAY !!! WE THE PEOPLE SUPPORT YOUR FREEDOMS SO PRACTICE AND PROTECT THEM !!! 10/11/18 WOW !!!!!
I'm curious to what velocity it's achieving. And why RIA would cannibalize sales away from their proprietary 22 TCM caliber 1911, but more options is always a good thing.
A 22 magnum uses jacketed bullets unlike the 22 Long Rifle plated bullets. The bullet does the work. The 22 magnum, if accurate, will perform with greater effect on small game and varmints.
These .22mag pistols are more effective than .22LR, but are a bit pricey. My opinion is: If you are going to carry a full size 1911, it might as well be a 9mm, .40 or .45 cal. In fact 9mm has nearly twice the muzzle energy as the .22 mag, and cost about the same per round. If your looking for something to shoot all day at the range, get yourself a 1911 in .22LR for about $300 and shoot for 10 cents per round...then put your .45 cal 1911 in that holster for the trip home.
Bough this gun took it home cleaned it lubed it took it out to the range , jam after jam after jam after jam! Then the extractor literally shot out of the side if the gun on about the 300th round. This may have been an exception but I will never own a ria again , this was the single worst pistol I've ever used .
I have the same problems with the one I got yesterday, I tested it with 7 different 22 brands, had problem with with all of them, from failed to feed to jam to misfire to fail to eject, at price of $531.00 plus the $25.00 for the FFL, I wish i did not buy this gun.
There's a lot too unpack here. Sorry but, $600 is not cheap for a fancy paperweight like this. Factory recommend break in of at least 500 rounds, what are they trying to hide? No slide lock back after last round, that's really lame, especially for a $600 gun. Every review from shooters NOT being paid by Rock Island Armory has multiple failures, sometimes even with every magazine fired. The gun looks good, that's it, the fun stops there! I didn't even mention what a chore it is to breakdown & clean, YIKES!
I have problems with the one I got yesterday 9/29/20, I tested it with 7 different 22 brands, had problem with with all of them, from failed to feed to jam to misfire to fail to eject, at price of $531.00 plus the $25.00 for the FFL, I wish i did not buy this gun.
Nice gun but RIA XT 22 Mag very poor to no quality control -- mine malfunctional on each and very round I had to take it to mater gun smith on day 1 out of the box and I got a bill of $ 120.00 to make this great gun functional. White sheet of information said you need fire 500 round brake in period not possible my malfunctioned on each and every round with CCI quality 22 mag ammo Buyer Beware you may need to immediately send this pistol to your master gun smith to make it functional and operational and pay $$$ big bucks right out of the box SAD never had this problem with an American Manufactured gun learned my lesson
Quit voting for Liberals would help. Lot of gun manufacturers relocating to the southern states as well since some of them are getting tired of making guns in states where they cannot sell the majority of the guns they make. Hopefully the courts will remedy some of this but not going to bet on it.
Everytime talks about recoil of the 45 acp makes me laugh. I shoot 45acp the recoil is next to nothing . he'll there a lady at the range who shoots a RIA 1911 in 10mm and she loves it. Now cost of ammo he is right.
I bought one. Out of the first clip of 10 rounds. It jammed seven times. The second clip, 6 times. And so on. Tried different ammo. Same results. I was very disappointed with this piece of crap. I need my protection arms to be reliable not one that will get me killed because it wants to jam up. Anyone else having the same issues?

Very high-level, and brief description of this weapon, would have been nice to see it against metal targets, or soda bottles or something. Also, your shooter was not very safety conscious, not wearing safety glasses or goggles, and even gloves. Just my $0.02
