Disgraceful how Mario was treated. NRL need to step up and provide all the support and help Mario and his family require. And if Fatty and all the others have any decency they will too.
I loved watching Mario play, he was one of the best hookers in the game, gutsy as, he inspired not only Souths but fans of all teams right across the game. Junior footballers wanted to be Mario, he will always be a legend of Rugby League, he is a gentlemen of the game and he is loved by all. Go the Falcon.
It was a different time, when people could actually take a joke. Sure Mario took it personally a couple times but that was part of it. So get the sand out of your girl parts
Mario is much-loved through the rugby league community and the Footy Show was no different. Sure there was some p1ss-taking going on and it doesn't translate into a good legacy today. But every group of mates has at least one bloke that cops a bit of stick for one reason or another and Mario was it back in the day. In light of Mario's condition now, it is wrong. But not so sure it was back in the day.. Either way I met Mario a couple of times and you could not meet a kinder, happier and more gracious bloke. I'm sure the Footy Show boys also have nothing but love for the Maltese Falcon. Go Mario you Good Thing!!! Peace be with you champion :)
@@shift7199 Its sad Mario was belittled - especially since he was diagnosed with Dementia age 52, and everyone on the footy show knew it ... its not funny. Some 'joke'. I wonder if you became sick and were publicly ridiculed how you would take it?
