NSW TrainLink Dset Mariyung test train departing Sydney Central with Mitsubishi SiC-VVVF sound! 

The NSW TrainLink D set, also known as the Mariyung train, is a new type of train being introduced to replace NSW TrainLink's Vset Intercity. The D set will operate from Sydney to Newcastle, Lithgow and Kiama, which will replace NSW TrainLink's V set and transfer Hset Oscar to the Sydney suburban service. The first trains were delivered in December 2019. After a long-running dispute between the Government and the drivers' union over the safety of the trains, as they were one-man operated vehicles that did not require a conductor, The first trains are due to enter service in 2024.
While more and more D sets have been imported from South Korea, the country of manufacture, since 2019, more than 500 cars have been detained without commercial operation due to conflicts with trade unions. The situation is quite chaotic with new fleets being left in the yards for up to five years.
An interesting feature is the illuminated emergency steps under all doors at night.
