Well technically that expandtion speed they mentioned, that being 60 trillion light years in half a second was the speed of the universe immediately after the big bang. He said that to a guy after using a time portal to leave a person there.
How do you feel about the discovery of an energy positive fusion method and how long do you think it will take before there will be reactors to power the grid?
Notice how even though Superman was basically unhurt (only his cape got tore a little bit) he was gracious enough to Goku and even said he'd fight with him again. It's a brilliant characterization of both Goku (who wouldn't be depressed at losing, just seeing him as the ULTIMATE challenge) and Superman, who would see that Goku is truly pure at heart.
There's a certain irony about the DBZ fandom's obsession with defeating Superman. Many called this fight pointless because it had the same victor, which is entirely missing the point. Goku himself wouldn't care if he won, lost, or tied, because no matter what he's having fun. The guy freakin' dies at the end and his only response is "darn it." He sees impending doom as Superman comes down with the wrath of a million suns and he says "finally," because he finally got Superman to go all out, like he's Clark's personal trainer and they're finally seeing results. Goku would arguably have *more* fun if he lost, because it means he has a challenge to look forward to.
@@paperluigi6132 its just a shame that it wont happen, that havent even made superman his strongest, if he went through a blue or white star hes even stronger
Sub-quantum shout means he vibrated his voice in such a way that it carried a cancellation frequency for the quantum strings that Darkseid's subatomic particles were made up of.
Immeasurable speeds are speeds that break the speed formula. So traveling back in time with speed alone or moving in a timeless void breaks it completely since one you'd have to input a negative number for time and the other is moving a distance without time. So most actually put immeasurable speed above infinite speed.
@@daenite2480 Right, but speed is a function of distance over time. It sounds redundant to say it this way, but if time is 0, then there's no time, and the equation can't work that way.
Fun fact: Goku and everyone else KameHameHa it's so wide and causes so much destruction around the user after firing, it's because it's imperfect, the only one who can launch a Perfect KameHameHa as a concentrated energy beam whitout destroying anything but the intended target is Master Roshi, it's original creator.
The way you described your theory on how power levels scale reminds me of how they've brought up decibels scaling multiplicatively in Black Canary Vs. Sindel. (Ie. if something gets 10 decibels louder, it gets 100 times louder)
5:50 they don't often mention it in the animations but in books Ki effects are often described as having a heat to them. the glowing aura around them when powered up is often compared to literal fire. Soo yeah some kind of radiation is escaping their bodies.
it's been used in the non canon storylines to, say, melt ice. though i can't recall if it's ever been used in core canon that way, since ice actually can hinder the body's ki production.

24:40 the Communist Superman is from an Elseworlds story, "Superman: Red Son," which is a "What If?" scenario where Kal's pod wound up in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas.
I'm glad that pretty much everyone agrees that they would be such best bros. Few characters in fiction would be able to truly relate to Goku or Superman as well as they would for eachother (that's rly hard to word but hopefully you get what I mean). I'm team Goku simply because I love him and I love Dragon Ball but I love this Death Battle so much and it made me really really appreciate Superman.
Great video! You know a lot about Dragon ball its honestly impressive. Regarding power levels in dragonball being able to contend with space and time based powers, you were spot on. In dragonball super, they actually point out how just being stronger can allow you to basically ignore all forms of abilties. Like a guy in DBS had the power to basically suspend you in time and trap you in a "Time cage", yet Goku simply being stronger was outright able to ignore all his abilities.
It does make sense considering the mechanics of Ki in Dragon Ball, though. In a fight of two people of equal skill and speed, then power would be the tipping point, and Goku was combining God-level Super Saiyan with God-created Ki Steroids.
Not only that. In the "filler" episode (if you can call anything "filler" anymore regarding Modern Dragon Ball simultaneously developing continuities between movies, anime and manga) Hit was hiding in a pocket-dimension, and was going to deal a fatal blow on Goku from this pocket-dimension where he couldnt be touched, and Goku pulled Hit out of it just by powering up.
Actually, in Dragin Ball- Ki isn't explicitly "life-energy", Chi is. Though, that isn't elaborated on in the Anime- strictly in the Manga so; no harm, no foul. 🙌
ki and chi are the same thing, they are simply different ways of pronouncing the same thing. the manga's english translation refers to it as "chi" simply to be in tune with the chinese themes of the world
28:40 Indeed. Super Vegito was able to mantain conciousness while he was turned into a Coffee Candy ball through Majin Buu's magic, just because of his sheer strenght. Majin Buu's Ki rising also started to make reality crumble down. It only stopped because Vegito managed to overpower the energy emanating from Buu (which was effectively creating a force field around him, unintentionally) and Vegito managed to hit Majin Buu in the head very hard, snapping Buu out of his rage state. Reality went back to normal after a few seconds. We have also seen characters with power levels higher than Goku's super saiyan three to actively create visual distortions in the space they inhabit, be it planet earth, or the endless void of the time chamber.
44:05 that's Epic Rap Battles of History, they do some amazing stuff. they did Superman vs Goku and Thanos vs Oppenheimer (which is a great video btw) and Sir Isaac Newton vs Bill Nye you should really check it out, they're great and they have a new season that started a week or so ago. they're so popular that they go silent for many months and almost for years and the second they come back damn near EVERYONE drops everything to watch them.
Huh, so I was just about to give a little information real quick on what you were saying at 9:52 (as a friendly neighbourhood Dragon Ball scaler) - but you pretty much got it in one actually. Based on what we see in OG Dragon Ball, early Power Levels (those below 1000, mostly) are usually exponential, as we see relatively minor increase in the PL value correlate to huge increases in character's stats (as you mentioned, Roshi blowing up the moon at like a 300 would be a bit weird if he was only 60x the strength of a normal human). Later on though, around the beginning of DBZ as Power Levels climb past 1000, they become more linear and do so pretty quickly. One little note though: the Kaioken and Super Saiyan Multipliers aren't based on the Power Levels directly, they're applied to Goku's stats, it's just that in multiplying his stats (Kaioken anywhere between 2-20x, SSJ Grade 1 by 50x base, Grade 2 by 100x base, Grade 3 by 1,000x base, Grade 4 by 2,000x base, SSJ2 by 4,000x base, and SSJ3 by 16,000x base - if you're curious as to the actual specific multipliers) his Power Level increases as a result (though we kinda stop getting straight-up Power Levels after a while, so it's not necessarily something to worry about anyway tbh). This said, the God forms are much more relevant for this matchup, and they don't have confirmed multipliers unfortunately.
Also, just a quick thing about how powerscalers treat Speed Tiers: of course you have all finite speeds treated as you'd expect, but then beyond that you have Infinite Speed (being able to cross an infinite distance in finite time), above that is Inaccessible Speed (moving any distance - finite or infinite - in zero time), and Immeasurable Speed (moving beyond linear time, so stuff like traveling through time with pure speed). There is also technically Irrelevant Speed (something that Superman arguably scales too if I'm not mistaken, but I'm not super familiar with DC scaling so I might well be wrong there) which is essentially moving faster than the very concept of speed (though this level is usually reserved for characters that exist beyond dimensional space and time).
Regarding the sub quantum shout thing for superman, basically he was fighting darkseid's true form, and to beat him he listened to the vibrations of his subatomic particals and created the exact counter frequency to stop their vibrations shattering darkseid's form.
The right superman definitely beats the snot outta Goku, its the more common ones that struggle. Goku is a big fish in a pond that's consistent, consistently growing, but still. Superman is a big fish in a pond that varies way too wildly to even attempt general statements about. The situation forces a choice of which Superman to compare, and the choice of which Superman you compare determines the outcome, seems to me like the reason the whole argument mostly died off. Superman that has multiverse level power, 6th dimensional power (3 orders of infinity beyond regular strength) easily beats goku who by the same logic is only shown 4th or maybe 5th dimensional power (infinite time and space). The dimensional power system of DC comics (at the highest level) makes comparing fighters with different dimensionality pretty easy, its when they're the same that there's an argument. I'd love to see more people comparing a 4th or 5th dimensional Superman to Goku, or even like Saiyan saga Goku vs a cartoon Superman.
In DC conversion, I would put Goku at max, high balling the hell out of him at a very generous 4D(Sphere of Gods) But he would have to already be at Super Saiyan blue from the start or else he would just be at meta/super human, maybe low herald level.
Comp Superman can scale up to 3 layers into Outerversal. Whereas comp Goku is actually cracked. High on more steroids than can fit in a universe level of cracked. Making DBS scaling look like no growth is happening level of cracked.
42:52 while not inmortal. The last time Goku died, in Z, he was gifted the Elder Supreme Kai's lifespan to revive. In the Elder Kai's words, he gifted Goku his life since he had "a meager 1000 years of life left". While not inmortal, Goku still should have a lot of gas in his natural life left. Of course, I dont think this was ever counted as that in the actual canon. There was a game made for chinese audiences only, a MMO RPG called "Dragon Ball online", which story was written by Toriyama. It happens 100 years after the events of Dragon Ball Z. Everyone lived their lifes happily, the Namekians managed to finally develop further after their natural cataclism nearly wiped them all out and after surviving the Freezer situation, so they are now, if im not mistaken, a multi-planet species. Majin Buu got interested in having a wife after accidentally reading Mr Satan's Dirty Magazines, so he made a wife out of his own blob, and he made Ms. Buu. And they both created a new family and a whole different species later. The Saiyan Gene got diluted but it sure spread out among humans, and so, there are many Saiyan descendants around, with the ability to turn super saiyan if they really, REALLY try hard enough (your own original character still has to wish to Shenron for it to be able to happen, I think) And many humans all around have become very physically strong, given that Gohan published a book 100 years back about explaining Ki control and manipulation, which everyone read. Still, about 50 years back, one of the things that happened is that Goku and Vegeta realized that they were getting physically older, despite their increased lifespan, compared to humans, and they decided that instead of whitering away, they would take the chance of them being still sort of at their peak performance and go to an empty planet without telling anyone. They fought in that empty planet very very far away, to the death. No one knows where they went or what happened, but years later they found out that the light of the planet they probably went to shined brighter as if it had exploded, years later. Its assumed that they both died in that fight. On that subject, there is "Old Man Goku's Last day in Life" from "Rising Fist" on YT, if you want to react to or watch. Its fan-made, but its good.
For some context on the White Sun thing, they forgot to mention that Warworld’s “white sun” was an artificial star created from a “Genesis fragment” of the Source Wall. It’s divine-cosmic power as the “Source” is equivalent to DC’s representation of The God (Judeo-Christian) . Which is where those Genesis powers listed earlier come from. So not too different from Goku getting god power in Super. Also, Clark is a family man now too. He has 1 biological son, two adopted, a cousin, a half clone and many other Super-family heroes. You can see some of them on that comic cover at 38:26. That same comic run is where he liberated aliens on Warworld like a space Moses.
@@l0sts0ul89 yeah I wish they had the balls to undo it like his identity being known was. Instead we have the two adopted Warworld kids now, who are great but not the same.
10:53 of course, a lot of the inconsistency of powerlevels could be attributed to forgetfulness or lack of care and we have some varying units and also varying responses from Akira Toriyama from different sources but the way I always understood it (and this is all speculation AKA Headcanon) is that the "power level" its sort of the general ceiling of how much power you can output. Its not like a batery draining itself as it uses power but more like how much power you can output from your "internal spirtual Battery" AKA your KI reserves. (Some characters were not able to release one single beam from exhaustion but they still had the strength to move and fight) And so, with this logic, anytime you are using a technique like the Kamehameha or any of the other energy beam attacks, specially the ones that take time to charge, you are going past your natural "power level reading" kind of like Gohan And Piccolo when they get angrier and Raditz noted their power levels were rising. So that could make sense of Roshi having an approximate ceiling of around 300, but in reality the power of his kamehameha was many times that amount. It sort of could explain why super saiyans are so out of league. Just like a faucet, you can only output so much water, regardless of the size of the tank its connected to, but the transformation of Super Saiyan could encompass a physical transformation so profund and strong, pushing the synapses to the limit to create a permanent change to the body, allowing it to naturally be capable of increasing its natural output. (Could be just Saiyan natural disposition to that, too). It is evident though that there is a before and after when you turn super saiyan, to the point that Goten had the capabilities to go Super saiyan, unlike Gohan. Goten should have been concieved AFTER the time Goku became super saiyan, so that could mean his DNA forever changed ina fundamental level. (Even if it was most likely just supposed to be a joke, the fun its in applying the logic to the fiction, kind of like what they say at the end of this video)
I actually read somewhere that Toriyama introduced power levels only to show just how useless they were, so that might play a part in the inconsistencies regarding them.
@@Purechaos61 ohh for sure. I have no doubts that we are overthinking this WAAAYYYYY more than he ever did about all of these things. Its a storytelling tool, like when Kid Goku is placed against enemies who are many times his size, just so we can see the gap in power and how size foesnt matter when you are as skilled and strong as Goku. Same with Vegeta getting a powerup and then getting completely desteoyes just to make Goku's fight look cooler later. But, as Wiz and Boomstick has put it at the end of this video, its still fun to talk about the implications and how it would translate to our logic and reality, even if that was not the authors intent.
If you liked the animation, check out Daitomodachi, he was one of the lead animators in this, he does a lot of Dragonball animations for an alternate universe/multiverse story he's been working on for a while called the Gohanverse.
@@philswift8793 Maybe not the lead, but he did do animation in this. He's credited, and there's very distinct ways that he animated DB characters, particularly recognizable in the facial expressions. His work is very recognizable and he's always getting better, it always looks so good.
@TheIrishTexan I talked to SXR on the DB discord, and he never mentioned Daito doing anything like key animation, so I guess Daito did touch ups and special effects. SXR typically has smoother animation, and this episode is much better than Gogeta vs Vegito. I think they had more people working on this, which is confusing as to why they didn't put in the same resources to Gogeta vs Vegito
20:15 while slightly off-topic, Vegeta does have a new power called "Gamma Burst Flash". Its a better version of the "Final Flash", and its quicker, almost instantaneous, with waaaayyyy more power, but it also drains your power inmensely. Basically something that you use when you wanna finish a fight. Either you win or you lose, but you wont be fighting much longer after using it.
14:03 while it was probably the author just using an idea he forgot he used before, I will say that what Goku said he learned with Mr Popo and Kami was to stop doing unnecessary movements in his fighting style. Kind of like polishing your style to the upmost efficiency. But that is DIFFERENT from Ultra Instinct which is basically bypass the time limitations of the brain synapses, both mechanically and the speed of your thoughts. You stop thinking Your body just moves by itself. All you really focus on is on the feeling that the fighting gives you. AKA. Being in "the zone" Goku's body will move in very strange and akward ways while keeping the efficiency of the movement. Those movements might not always be logical in a martial arts sense, but basically, if it works, it works.
The comparison to being in the zone is actually pretty accurate, tbh, since Ultra Instinct is based on the Flow State, or, as Karateka call it, Mushin.
Humans can destroy a mountain to a continent on average, they are just not able to bring out the ki that allows them to do that, in other words it’s up to control and not up to actual missing power
21:52 So they don't do a great job explaining what the Miracle Machine is and why it matters. Its a device from the future which is protected by the Legion of Superheroes, a group of heroes from the 30th century. Its a refinement/improvement on the original Central Battery which gives the Green Lanterns their powers. If you know anything about how insane the Green Lanterns are, you have an idea of what the Miracle Machine is. Described as the pinnacle of technology, the Miracle Machine can rewrite reality across not just the universe, but the entire infinite DC Multiverse. It required the sum total knowledge of an entire alien civilization to build, and Superman had to rebuild it off sheer memory after only a glance, requiring him to also possess the sum total knowledge of an entire alien civilization.
Gotta say this is my favorite reaction I've seen so far. Getting some intelligent insight into a video that already does extensive research is awesome.
6:04 I think Goku gets burned in his palms a bit when trying to deflect Freezer's energy beam with his bare hands, so you can say its sort of like this plasma-like energy, specially when it causes explosions or it burns enemies to a crisp or completely desintegrates them. Also, when Goku does the Kaioken, the technique to push his own body past its natural limits for a short-duration multiplier of his maximun power, you can see Goku's body steaming. We also have seen the accumulation of ki creating a repeling force, like a strong gust of wind that pushes things back or makes rocks float, or if its strong enough, creates lightning sparks around the user or even around the world, along with Earthquakes and Seaquakes.
Great reaction, this video is a ton of fun. I'm glad they gave the characters one last hurrah and did them justice. Still wish Goku had won at least one of these death battles. Some other characters can survive in space, Like Freeza and i believe Cell is biologically immortal, as well as 17 and 18 having infinite energy and stamina, and not aging either.
I'm surprised you didn't bring up the question of what Goku was standing on after he blew up the Earth and why he wasn't just propelling himself backwards in space with his Kamehameha.
for context, superman was also the battery which POWERED the miracle machine. so he did, in fact, generate those jiggawatts and "commie" superman is basically a character examination. how much of his character comes from his alien heritage, and how much comes from his parents. it's a univers where he landed in communist russia as a baby and he's... not..exactly a superhero.
10:00 yeah, it has been confirmed that power levels are exponential up until the thousands where they seemed to become linear, although that last part is not confimed
The Commie Superman is from the Red Son series and is actually really interesting. One of the cool things about it was after he learned he was being manipulated and took over the Russian government, despite everything horrible he was doing, he was still a kind person and strove to make the world a better place, even if it was in a twisted way. He even eventually stopped viewing the US as his pure evil enemy and realized that they have just many innocents on their side as there are on his. Even though he was raised differently, Supe's nature is always kind and gentle, even if he doesn't make the kindest choices. He always will fight for at least what he thinks is right.
Superman being a solar battery will always be a significant factor in any of these battles. Unlimited stamina + consistent health regeneration= almost unstoppable.
On the note of Superman and his absorbing powers of the stars, I think the physics were never in the room because it's supposed to be based on the fact that Superman gets his strength from the age of a star; hence a blue one being incredibly strong and the red one weakening him
I always thought since kryptonians are engineered beings they were designed with the weakness to red suns just so they could have livable suns for a livable civilian population and keeping the blue sun secret for if they wanted huge boosts quick or white sun if they needed it with the yellow sun as both good potential while still allowing some weakness
About that whole tangent you went on about power levels “humans have an average of 5” it’s not really about your power level; it’s about how you use your ki. If I’m right your power level is basically just your ki measurement. But if you don’t know how to properly use that power then you’re basically a regular person.
34:55 Is a move from Chinese martial arts that Bruce Lee popularized called the One Inch Punch; it's become a favorite staple of many martial arts based characters since he demonstrated it at a martial arts exhibition.
To go with what you’re saying about power levels being non-linear; you’re right, but it is more straightforward than it seems if you have the full breadth of information. Roshi blew up the moon when his power level was like 180, BUT when they concentrate their ki into an attack like the kamehameha (an even better example shown outright being the special beam cannon), the power of the attack can greatly exceed their “actual” power level. I think Roshi’s kamehameha in his max power form wt that time was more along the lines of 900+ power. You just have to take for granted that the visual representation of their powers have hit the limit, and just accept statements of how strong they are. Goku being so many, MANY magnitudes stronger than a guy that can obliterate the moon jives with the in-universe logic
The funny thing about anime and cartoons is the fact that viewers see the lightning at the same time you hear the thunder. This is incorrect since sound can only travel at around 750 miles per hour while lightning has a speed of 270,000 miles per hour. So, showing Goku listening for the air currents and the sound of thunder, and then dodging lightning is not possible.
Look up the storyline Infinite Frontiers. All past versions of Superman, Pre-Crisis, Post, Rebirth, New 52, are all now combined and are officially canon. Death Battle didn't need to combine them. DC already did it for them.
It's kinda insane to take a story that tries to be sequential in story telling of power scaling to confront higher levels of threat while retaining a gap for future conflicts like dragon ball and compare it to super mans continuity that takes into account a bunch of one off stories that aren't made to make sense sequentially or have the growth of a character but are just meant to make him be a god without equal
40:48 So Infinite and Immeasurable speed are considered two different terms. Basically, Infinite speed means you can go from point A to point B in 0 time or travel an infinite distance in finite time. Immeasurable speed, on the other hand, means you could reach point A and point B in *less than* 0 time which is, as the term says, immeasurable. Time is essentially removed from the equation entirely in that case.
Roshi was in the 100's when his power level is read when he was in his normal state. He blew up the moon in his buffed up state with the Kamehameha which, we already know from raditz, boosts the users power level tremendously. Not to mention the power level reader could have picked up the gun so 5 wouldn't be human it would be human with what ever model gun that was. Still probably correct. (As far as the size of heaven in dragon, consider how much of our universe is habitable now imagine if it were all habitable. I feel like that would solve the space issue. Add in hell and hakai erasing beings from existence and I doubt there is a space issue. COMMIE superman is an alternate universe/timeline superman in which Kal-el lands and is raised by a rural family in Rusia instead of the United States.
Superman's skin can absorb ALL types of Solar radiation. But his body stores it in a form similar to Red Solar radiation (radiation similar to the star his species evolved around) So when he is near red solar radiation, I always suspected that it resonates and cancels out his stored solar energy via destructive interference. IF constructive interference occurs it is now in a form he can't metabolize. the only problem is when you take the radiation away, sometimes he has access to all of his powers not requiring a power-up. So my thinking is the red solar radiation mixes with his stored solar radiation and changes it into a form that becomes incompatible with his anatomy and he can not metabolize it.
Its been suggested in comics that his red sun difficulties are self imposed, like many of his limits. He feels he "needs" vulnerabilities in order to be more "human".
@@eingoluq youre noth the arbiter of "good vs bad" ideas. It makes way more sense than the shit you posted. Pseudo science drivel. Dont like it? don't like it. The universe wont give 2 fucks. It still happened.
I think you didn't catch the part about Superman hitting brainiac so hard that every version of himself across space and time felt the hit. Lol That's what was happening when Supes was clashing with Goku and seeing rhe various fights taking place.
The red sun/yellow sun thing isn’t about the color difference specifically, it’s due to the fact that yellow stars burn stronger and brighter the red stars, and blue stars are even bigger and stronger. The color isn’t specifically what makes Superman stronger, it’s what it represents, that being the much higher amount of solar radiation being released.
And as for the differently-colored Kryptonites, the different effects are most likely due to their different chemical makeups which are simply denoted by their different colors.
@@MetaFanWinginteresting thing about superman and kryptonians. 1.jor-el stated they aren't limited to stars but almost all energy types can be absorbed by kryptonians. 2.he states a quasar and pulsar can empower a kryptonian even beyond any star.
I think the color of star is supposed to reference the heat of a flame going from red to orange/yellow to blue to white in order of lowest to highest heat. I don’t think that’s how suns work irl but i guess that’s how they work in DC lol
For dimension hopping, that’s how nightcrawler from the X-Men teleports he travels to a hell like dimension that has sulfur in its atmosphere so that’s why every time he teleports, he leaves a scent of sulfur in the location he was at, and after teleporting
You might be interested in the next one. It's Galactus vs. Unicron. Both are universal threats that eat planets, one of them being classified as a multiversal singularity. Should be interesting for you to react to
Superman wasn't composited. Go back to 23:41. You talked over it. The newest storyline called "Infinite Frontiers" has officially combined all past versions of Superman. There's no "picking and choosing" as you put it. Death Battle didn't composite him. DC already did that for them.
34:19 YOU GOT IT RIGHT! Once he figured out he almost destroyed his universe while fighting, he figured out how to use his own ki to make sure none of the effects of his battle would escape the battle field.
The one they left out is stamina. Dbz characters run out of ki regardless of the situation and that's every being in their universe. The other thing is that all their fights despite being episodes long are all supposed to be around five mins. Even in the video Goku still in most fight has lost or been depowered various times overand losing the transformation. Superman doesn't have that issue esp if he can fight for 1000 years straight.
You should look into dragon ball hero’s and actually see what those versions of goku can do bc what he has done in hero’s is actually on a different level of insane feats
in power scling immeasurable speed means you are able to move through time, breaking the speed formula because time could be negative. that's why it's called immeasurable because it can't measure because time is in the negative
The power level scale in DBZ is strange. I prefer the megaton scale. I use that in my story. 1 megaton of TNT is something we understand in real life. For example, my main protagonist has a megaton level of 20 million. It means she can dish out energy equal to 20,000,000 megatons of TNT every second (for 24 hours). Studying thermonuclear weapons surely helps. When my characters transform, their base power is multiplied my 10 octillion. This means a base MT level of 20 million is now equal to 20 million Supernovae (aka exploding stars). It gets crazier too lol.
comics nowadays are just writers going: WELL MY SUPERHERO CAN DO INFINITY X 100 OH YA? WELL MY SUPERHERO CAN DO INFINITY X 1000 ... -__- It's the same problem the recent world of warcraft storylines had - if your stories aren't at least somewhat grounded in reality they start to lose all meaning to the readers. they become totally unrelatable and lose all meaningful impact on their audience
Also as for your comment. Just because Goku going blue has the POWER to destroy a universe, doesnt mean he cant tone it down to a point where it would only mess up a lake, for example if the full force of your punch could shatter a car and you get in a fight, are all our punches full force? You dont know how to tone it down to the point where your punch would only hurt someone as opposed to obliterate them? Its not different than knowing the difference on how much grip strength to apply when holding a baby vs what your apply when holding a brick to throw it, youre not gonna be rough with a baby when you know you could easily squish them, its called control/holding back.
the average human does have a power level of 5 but that only matters if that human can use it, yajirobe has a power level of 970 and cant use ki at all because he was never tought nor does he want to learn
In one comic, The Chief (leader of Doom Patrol) stated that the process by which Kryptonians absorb solar energy happens beyond celular level. That matter is comprised of energy, but the matter that makes up a Kryptonian's body is made up of a different type of energy which alter it's configuration and properties. This might explain how Superman can gain enough power to shatter planets by just absorbing some watts of solar energy.
45:20 this is the 3rd time this fight has happened and people keep getting mad about it, so I take they are just trying to redirect the fans anger towards speaking about this in a philosophical way, and also going "well, would you want Goku to be the strongest? that would just mean he cant be challenged anymore". They are trying to be democratic, or at least just try to divert the attention from Goku having lost for the 3rd time.
Its worth noting that a dragon ball universe itself contains multiple infinite realms. Being the dead realm which is stated to be infinite and also higher dimensional in a guidebook and this is the same universe that Goku was threatening to destroy with his uncontrolled punches against beerus. There's also the kaioshin realm which itself apparently contains the universe, which contains the dead realm. It seems like the dead realm is infinite and higher dimensional, the living universe contains the dead realm, and then the kaioshin realm contains the living universe. With that said I think your take on why superman is stronger and your interpretation of goku and superman's powers is mature and makes sense.
idk alot about superman, but im pretty sure the wraknesses and strengths didnt come from the colors for the stars, but its more related to the age of the stars. red stars are the closest to dying, then is yellow, blue, and white being the youngest. so with superman, his power fluctuates with stars, but the younger a star is, the stronger it makes him? thats my guess atleast. as gor the green thing with cryptonite im pretty sure thats just a design choice
I don't personally believe DBZ characters move faster than light as in the fact photons have to reach our eyes to witness anything happening should mean that when they fly with their ki up we the observer should not be able to see them even at a distance. There is a billion variants to this vs seeing say Flash where you can't see him or Superman alot of times it's just a blur or instant.
I did think power levels had to be measured in a different way other than it being linear or geometrically. What I think is perhaps in a logarithmic way, like decibels, as it is exponential. Which if you tried to compare an average human's 5 with a 10 for Goku as a kid, it may be a two-times difference, but we're not bullet resistant and couldn't lift in excess of a ton. We could leave those basic numbers measured linearly, but it's massive between the two separate levels.
10:30 it linear and literal only in Z as before Toriyama hadn’t thought about the power lvl system yet which you can see promblem with taking literal with og Dragon ball
I see your point about the argument that a universal+ level character can’t breath in space which at this point in time is absolutely stupid. I mean he has god ki in GENERAL which should help him by default to surpass all mortal limitations to the laws of physics. I think I’m digging too deep😂 but that’s my take
11:20 Well yeah. That and Heaven would have to be an energy space to because of that “eternal life” thing we’re told so much about. So what’s arguably more eternal for everlasting life than something like energy that never dies; but, transforms??? You know?? Like what Albert Einstein famously noted.
Your thing is that Superman and pretty much every continuity has some time travel mishap where he spends years away from Earth and when he comes back he's barely changed. Heck current Superman has Superman lost where he was going for about 30 years and he looks like he's only aged a day
Infinite Speed (Able to travel any finite distance in zero time, or move an infinite distance within a finite amount of time. Teleportation does not count. Immeasurable (Movement unbound from the flow of linear time, which cannot be measured. Given that S = D/T, if T is undefined, the speed formula cannot be applied. This is the same reason why multiple temporal dimensions also grant immeasurable speed.
