Finished the test area today got a 40 mm pipe on a 45 degree angle to depth of 700 mm ( bloody hard going ) which meant the depth from the surface is 494 mm. The yellow tongue with markers at every 70.71 mm in the pipe will be 50 mm from the surface . I decided to do it at 50 mm increments instead of 100 mm increments just for accuracy .thanks Don for helping today ( a new subscriber for you Craig ) . Hope to see many more tests and setups on your channel . Thank Craig .doing all this is to get confidence in the machine and coils
Thanks Maurice yes I have a lot more planned. It’s great to have a test pad set up to help dial your machine in especially if it’s in the ground you regularly hunt for gold. Settings might need to be adjusted for different soil types and weather conditions.
Also I would love to see set ups on 7000 with boosters . Harness setups .as well keep it up . Great work as I’m always testing too in very hot ground .
Good stuff, thx 4 the insight👍 I will stick to the 14 on the Z, a mate has the new 17 4 the z and he’s already finding plenty hey. Waiting 4 the 16 to arrive 4 the 6 🤞it’s as good as they say. Thx again 4 sharing 👍
Great stuff, maybe put in some 50mm marks to get a better idea of drop off points. And a similar comparison on target response between normal/difficult , general/high yield? Your vids are straightforward and easy to follow, keep it up.👍👍👍
Hey Craig, I realise changing coils in-between takes would have been tiresome...your video was awesome, direct, short and to the point. I run the Nugget finder 12" also and love it, it has proven its self to be a great coil with some great nuggets finds under my belt. I have been also wondering if the original coil would penetrate deeper so I was very interested in your results. I appreciate your efforts, I think ill stay with the NF. I have also purchased the new Nugget finder in 17x13" any thoughts on a review this one?
Hey Stuart thanks for the comment. I have just received my 17 x 13 yes I will definitely get it out on the pad. Just having some bad weather lately as soon as it clears I’ll be out there I’m very eager to give it a run.
Hi Jenko I’ve recently discovered your videos great work . I’m current building a test patch in the whipstick in Bendigo using 50 mm pipes horizontally placed at 500 mm depth 400 mm depth 300 mm depth and 200 mm depth sliding different targets at different depths . I’m always testing so 2200d with 25 inch nf dd gpx4500 different coils gpx5000 and gpz 7000 . It all gets confusing at end . After seeing your test patch here and the simplicity of it I would like to replicated it . I would like to use a bigger hole to accommodate up to 10 ounce pieces which would mean a 50mm pipe . How did you calculate the depth at a. 45 degree angle and do you think if a 50 mm hole will kill the mineralized ground too much . Also how big is your pipe width and what did you use to dig it down too 600 mm depth thanks . Maurice
It’s great to have them set up to test you gear and your settings. Thanks for joining the channel. I dug the slot just over 650mm long and deep. Put the 25mm pipe in the measured from the surface where each 100 mm down was then marked them. I should mark 50mm which would be handy when the detectors start taping out in the depths.
I think the 14 would be better for deeper bigger nuggets and also will cover more ground. The NF12 is better for tighter areas and more sensitive to smaller gold.
